WOOT i was first. I think. Man it is very sexy I love it. But I think once the essex comes out I will trade in my storm 1 for a Tour 2. Sorry Pearl. Sexy but too small for my fat hands.
Why do people need to bring attention to the obvious? Your post was first, yes we can all see that! Do you think the rest of the Crackberry users are so dumb that you have to point out that you made the first comment? I have never understood this idiotic posting. It's like look at me!
Waaa!! Waaa!! Waaa!! Cry me a river!! At least they actually talked about the phone.
Will surely get the 9100 over this bulky 8330.
im trying to find an unlock code for a sprint black berry tour to use on thr att network if any body knows of one that is free please tell me
His dogs are cute
Can't wait!! Gotta retire my 8100..
anyone else hate how they put the name of the..uh "series" in the back of the phone. im so glad my storm doesnt have that...
uh, no?
uh yes...
The dogs are cute. The phone is sexy. Best of both worlds. Although very sexy, I'm going to keep my bold 9700. I do think it would make a great Christmas stocking stuffer for my kid though. Looks to be perfect size for a woman's hands.
The fastforward icon on the screen when he played music was cut off... O.O
Nice to see a refreshed version of the Pearl. A part of me wishes RIM would do something exciting for once with their smartphones though! In so many areas they have now fallen behind the competition:
Browser: Fail. And don't talk to me about Bolt or Opera (they're horrible too).
Apps: Shocking - very few, poor quality, and too expensive. Do not hold a candle to the variety and quality of iPhone or Android apps.
Sync: Fail. Both iPhone and Android deliver full Exchange sync of email, contacts, calendar, etc. to consumers at no cost. And Apple has MobileMe which has a whole ton of cool features too like Find My iPhone, etc. The BIS/consumer plans for BlackBerry don't hold a candle. In reality all you're paying for is the push email whereas with the other phones you get so much more value.
Email/PDF: For a business phone you would think BlackBerry would be all over email & attachment handling like white on rice, but they're not! Full HTML email on Android and iPhone that is superior to BlackBerry. And attachment viewing on these platforms also blows away the BlackBerry badly. Viewing a PDF on the iPhone is fantastic - on the BlackBerry...not so much. And don't even talk to me about excel sheets. Ever try viewing one on your BlackBerry? It's total fail.
RIM have done well of late but I think a very large part of that has been because Verizon (the biggest carrier) has been pushing their phones like nuts with massive discounts and the iPhone is only available on AT&T. Well, now we've got Droid with Verizon which is a worth competitor to the iPhone and we may even see the iPhone on VZW next year.
Investors see the writing on the wall too which is why RIMMs share price is down so badly while so many other tech stocks - ie. Apple, Google - have recovered through the year. Step it up RIM. Now.
Area moron. Nuff said. KTHXBAI.
Just lol. Also, I found your youtube account and I'm sorry to hear your mum canceled your WOW account: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YersIyzsOpc
I know it hurts now, but time heals all wounds young friend.
I agree a 100% with you.
I think the fanboys are not seeing your explanation very clearly.
Two weeks ago there was a recommendation from experts to sale the Rims shares that we have. Why because thoses experts doesn't believe that Rim has enough innovation in their current phone line.
Thanks for your great explanation. With more people going to the Droid, the Iphone and other phone I think the future of Rim is not very bright, but only the time will tell.
Anybody remembers how was Palm before? Guess not.
are a fucking idiot.
Why dont you do a little reading at whats coming to the Blackberry platform before you make idiotic statements (and agree with incredibly misinformed ones).
Knowledge is power, dumbass
My first thought was here comes another BS rant. However he is correct. The lack of Exchange without BES sucks. Coming from a Winmo Device I miss that the most. It sucks getting an email from my works Webmail address 10-15 minutes after the fact usually.
The browser doesn't bother me that much since flash is not readily available to all I can deal with it.
My biggest disappointment with RIM is the cap on email attachments. It sucks when I deal with account reps who call me to get spreadsheet quickly when traveling. I have to keep in mind full on the cap of 2.9mb. Not everyone has WIFI in a business place to get a file.
RIM needs to really fix this. Hell you can send larger files on BBM now so BIS or BES can be too far behind.
It looks more like a thin version of the Bold 9700 (or more so, the Curve).
I'd rock it.
I wonder if it is the same size as the first Pearl? Usually in reviews they hold the previous version together to compare them. Oh well.. Thank you though.
It looks good, but I'm not giving up my Bold 9000 for it.
Nice... Better than the Pearl Flip, thats for sure.
I replaced my one year old Pearl 8100 that started wearing out rather quickly with a new Bold 9700. So far I'm not really impressed. This thing reboots itself more than my 8100 on its worst day.
I'm guessing this new 9100 will have the same craptastic build quality my 8100 and 9700 have. So no thanks. I've been a Blackberry customer ever since the 950 pager but after this year I might be switching to an iPhone or Android phone.
i think it looks sweet, i can see a lot of people snatching up this device
i think the exterior looks great, cant really think of changing anything except for obv the leaking light problem
os/software... prly dont need to say anything (not in the mood for bb os rant!)
but for me, i need a bold 9000 size equivalent! (dakota hurry up!)
sexy but not givin up the king of all bb right now, 9700!
The style looks kinda Black Opish! It is quite sexy indeed, that might be my 2nd BB to just have as a backup or whatever, even though I'm going to be getting my grubby hands on the Essex but not asap though! I loved your remark for your patent by the way Sal and I agree and will back you up if they try to steal your idea! :D
a 3G pearl and an edge curve....this is not justified i suppose :(
Loooooooveeee it!! =)
lol @ the redbull announcement, and lmao at "Storm 2 Nano". other then that, i think that the device looks sweet! i personally wouldn't rock it because i hate suretype. i think that it will be a big seller once it is released.
Maybe Kevin could ask Salomondrin about his video setup while shooting devices. Focus!
YES....yes it is indeed sexy! :P
This new Pearl looks great. A lot of women will be getting this, I would expect. I like the fact that RIM is putting the name of the devices on the back. I think it looks cool and just in case an admirer picks up your device ( not that I condone anyone touching my phone), they will know the name. I bet this will sell like hotcakes. I definitely like it better than the flip. Good move RIM.
French & English Bulldogs,Nice.Oh,and solid upgrade of the Pearl using the new standard BB styling. I wonder if RIM will make the same effort to offer a rainbow of color Pearls like they did with the original 81xx series? God I hope this replaces both the 81xx AND the 82xx series Flips.
I'd love to see how the 9100 feels. Nonetheless, i'm not going to leave my original pearl in some cold drawer. It's my first. Welcome to the family 9100 :) my family of pearls :)
The new Pearl 9100 looks pretty nice but I am not a Pearl fan. I have a BB 9700 and I am loving life. I have to say that RIM as made an outstanding upgrade of the Pearl! My wife had an 8100 and she loved it. I am going to show her what the future Pearl will look like. She may want to buy one as soon as possible. I do hope that the flip goes away because it is U-G-L-Y!
My first BlackBerry was the pearl 8130. I loved that phone. I gave it to my brother when I went to the storm now he's hooked and the pearl will go to another future crackberry addict! I can't wait to see this new pearl! I think it looks really nice and nicely compliments the newer phones (like the 9700, Tour & Storm2).
does anybody else hope when os 5.0 comes out for the tour it includes this theme? it seems so smooth
I think they should name the Pearl sized touch BB the Pearl Touch! I get credit for that name!
I wonder if the keys are wider like on the 82XX series.
As I said before, I would def ditch my Tour for the new Pearl. To 'me' the Pearl was the best BB ever. I was able to do everything and hide the phone in an instant. Most people never knew I was texting/emailing right in front of them lol. That size is def a great convenience!
Finally a Pearl that looks good with same functionality of other BlackBerries. Too small for me and I have to have a full qwerty keyboard. Not a fan of SureType.
Don't know what happened to my 1st comment since I was 3rd to leave a comment??? But way cool! I could hold out on this one if it comes CDMA
I would also get rid of my Tour if it will be a Telus phone.
i wonder if this is ever gonna hit verizon..
...Not that I expect it's terribly different from the original Pearl, but did you have any impressions with the keyboard/typing/SureType, anything new there? Just curious.
More of the same RIM and I bet this thing wont support Open GL ES either, you know it being a GSM Device! Save yourself the disappointment guys, stay away from this! I am about to sell my Storm 1 and jump on the goodness that is android!
ohhhhh yea......
5:30 GLITCH
IMO, one-size does not fit all. Having BB options is smart. No one likes everything that everyone else likes. It's the same reason some of us are never giving up our gas-guzzling pick-ups and SUVs for pea-sized micro-compact cars. "Freedom" of choice means we can choose for ourselves. I saw one post about "fat hands" not working well with the Pearl. My big hands have to have a keyboard like the Pearl because I cant hit the small keys on a standard phone. I have the Storm and use the keyboard setup like the Pearl's.
You dont have to like everything that is out there. But, seriously, acting like a nut because someone likes something you dont makes you sound like, well, a nut.
If RIM could combine the Storm and the Pearl I'd probably love it.
I did not see him type any thing or hear him comments about the key board.
