Following its rivals, Verizon brings more data to More Everything plans
Following the lead of AT&T and Sprint, Verizon Wireless will now be giving subscribers of its More Everything plans even more data, though you'll have to sign up this month to qualify. More data begins with the 12 GB plan, which will now net you a 15 GB data bucket each month, and goes all the way up to the 50 GB data plan, which through the promotion will double your data to a whopping 100 GB to consume. That's a lot of Netflix streaming to consume each month!

Verizon preparing to finally launch VoLTE in the coming weeks
Verizon Wireless today announced that VoLTE (Voice over LTE) will be available on the network nationwide in the coming weeks. Customers with the US mobile operator will soon be able to make higher quality calls (and video calls) with other subscribers on the same network with compatible 4G smartphones. The plan is to slowly roll out the upgrades across the board to compete alongside AT&T and others, using LTE for not only super-charged data but also higher quality calls.

Verizon to put some limits on unlimited data
If you've managed to stay on an unlimited data plan on Verizon, you might soon notice that your speeds beginning to slow down if you're using a lot of data. A limited set of customers will fall under the umbrella of Verizon's so-called "Network Optimization" policy, which Verizon says is not throttling. The shift impacts customers in a very specific set of circumstances, according to Verizon:

Verizon Wireless's Q1 2014 results see $21 billion in revenue and 539,000 postpaid subscribers
Verizon's first quarter results are in, and mirroring rival AT&T, they saw some rather impressive growth. Verizon as a whole saw $30 billion in revenue, but even with their substantial non-cellular businesses, Verizon Wireless accounted for a whopping $20.9 billion of that income. That's an increase of nearly 7% from this quarter last year, though growth through their retail outlets was slightly lower.

Verizon to give discounts to customers with off-contract phones
Verizon is finally going to give you a discount for off-contract phones. Starting April 17th, customers of Big Red are going to be able to bring their own off-contract devices onto shared MORE Everything plans at a discount. No longer will they have to pay a subsidy fee for a subsidy they're not using. Plans at or under 8GB will see a smartphone add-on reduction of $10 (bringing the fee to $30/month), while those with data allotments of 10GB or higher will see their fee sliced from $40 down to $25 per smartphone.

Verizon's new ALLSET pre-paid plans offer unlimited calls, texts, and 500MB data for $45/month
Pre-paid plans are becoming a more-and-more viable option these days, especially if carriers continue to make improvements like Verizon has just done with the introduction of their new "ALLSET PLANS" (no more all-caps from here on out, mkay). These new plans start at $35-a-month for basic phones, but if you're smart and opt for a smartphone, it starts at a mere $45-a-month.
That low Allset plan price includes unlimited 'Anytime Minutes' calls and unlimited messaging (including international messaging to Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico). The base plan offers a measly 500MB data allotment each month, though thanks to the magic of pre-pay you can get more as you need it. An extra 500MB is $5, and that's good for 30 days, while you can get 1GB for $10 and 3GB for $20 — both with a 90-day expiration.
Verizon has a handful of smartphones available for purchase for use on the Allset plans, including the iPhone 4 for $99.99, iPhone 4s at $199.99, the Moto G for $99.99, and a few other low-end Android phones. If you have your own off-contract Verizon phone, you can bring it onto an Allset plan as well.
From what we've heard OS 10.2.1 isn't set to roll out for another few days for most users but if this stands correct, the process may already be underway. The update is appearing OTA for some as well as via BlackBerry Link.

BlackBerry Z30 now available from Verizon Wireless
If you're a Verizon customer and have been waiting on the BlackBerry Z30, today is your day! The Z30 is now available online from Verizon for $199 on a two-year contract or $549 month-to-month. The Z30 is exclusive to Verizon so if you're in the US you may not see it hit other carriers anytime soon, if at all.

BlackBerry Z30 available from Verizon Wireless November 14th for $199
Those of you that have been impatiently refreshing Verizon's site waiting for the Z30, the news in finally in. The BlackBerry Z30 will be available from Verizon Wireless starting November 14th.
The news notes that the Z30 will be available online, but no word if it will be arriving in stores the same day as well. We'd assume that it would show up on shelves as some point, but it could very well carry an online only tag for a while.
Verizon dropped word on Twitter today that the Z30 will be coming in November but still no exact date -- so it does leave the gap open for the time being. The Z30 will run $199 on a two-year contract and is a Verizon exclusive. We're not sure if that's "exclusive forever" or just "exclusive for now" so we'll do some more digging.

Verizon BlackBerry Z30 landing page goes live
If you're a Verizon user and waiting on the BlackBerry Z30, you'll be happy to know that Big Red has just fired up their Z30 landing page. You won't find many juicy details as far as pricing or release date, but you can drop your email to be notified of updates gearing up to release. It does note that it's "exclusive" however so we're not quite sure what's up with that.

Verizon Wireless testing same-day delivery for online orders
I'm all about instant gratification. I'm a huge fan of overnight shipping on Amazon (I'm somewhat of an addict) and would love for it to be even faster some days, but I suppose that's asking for a lot.
Verizon on the other hand is kicking things up in Philadelphia with a new pilot program to offer same-day delivery on all device orders. Customers in the area who order devices with or without accessories at verizonwireless.com will be eligible for same-day delivery in addition to standard and overnight options. Orders placed before 10am Monday through Friday will arrive the same day by 7pm at a fee of $19.99 - just $5 more than the priority overnight price of $14.99.
Verizon has already confirmed that they will indeed be offering the BlackBerry Z30 at some point, but we don't expect that to be for quite a while still. While they did announce on Twitter that the Z30 is "coming soon" they failed to give any other details.

Verizon Wireless launching service in NYC subway stations later this year
Frequent NYC subway commuters will be happy to know that in the coming weeks, 36 stations across Manhattan and Chelsea will be getting Verizon service. Verizon will soon be installing equipment in Transit Wireless' Base Station Hotel facilities to provide service across the various subway stations.
The plan is the first part of what will bring service to even more stations across NYC including Grand Central Station and Bryant Park in 2014. A full listing of stations providing service can be found at nycsubwaywireless.com which includes AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint.
The update is to OS 10.1.0.2039 and will bring Verizon users up to the latest official version. While many have already installed one or more of the leaks we've seen in the last few weeks, those that waited it out for an official release can finally get in on the fun.

Verizon introduces Edge - a new device payment and early upgrade plan
Not to be outdone by T-Mobile or AT&T, Verizon has introduced Edge today - a new device payment and early upgrade plan for Share Everything customers. On the plan, Verizon customers will be able to go on a month-to-month contract where the price of the device will be spread over a 24 month period. You'll make the first month's payment when purchasing the device, then continue to pay monthly until the device is paid off or you choose to upgrade.
Not good enough? Head on over to Best Buy where they've reduced the pricing even further. $49.99 will get you either an AT&T version or a Verizon version with the Verizon version coming in white or black. A lot of folks didn't like the Z10 pricing at launch, what about now?
Today AT&T announced that they will have shared data plans available in August and a few weeks back Verizon dropped some shared plans of their own. While it seems like a cool idea at first, they are both a bit tricky to break down. Depending on the amount of data you actually use and the number of devices on your plan, you may be better off without them - neither of these is really a good...
We've seen this one rumored for a while now, and today Verizon has finally announced the availability of the BlackBerry Curve 9310. The device first arrived on Boost Mobile a few weeks back, but now Verizon users can grab the Curve 9310 as well. The device features a 3.2MP camera, BlackBerry 7.1, VZ Navigator and more and will be available starting July 12th for $49.99 after MIB.

Earlier this week Verizon announced its new Share Everything plan, which Adam wrote about here. The short version? Verizon customers will soon be paying an access fee per device, and they'll buy a data plan to share among all devices.
There are two important industry trends that Verizon's pricing change have cemented. First, this marks the end of unlimited data plans. Second, it...
Verizon today has announced their often rumored shared data plans, dubbed Share Everything. The plans include voice minutes, unlimited text and a data allowance for up to 10 devices. The plans start $50 for 1GB and will run you another $10 for each additional 1GB. This is something many Verizon users may jump on, although it is kind of a drag that both voice and text minutes are automatically...
It's been a long time since Verizon has released an OS update for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 but it looks like the release we told you about previously has now started to roll out. Though, truthfully it's still far behind the leaked versions and even official versions that are out there. However, if you're looking to stay all Verizon official like you should be able to go ahead and check for OS...
The folks over at Android Central have dropped some information about Verizon and their 3G grandfathered unlimited data plans. Right now, it may not mean a whole lot to BlackBerry users as the changes are only limited to those on 3G plans who are going to 4G plans when upgrading their devices. It is worth noting though, due to the fact that 4G LTE equipped BlackBerry smartphones and PlayBooks...
Back long before the BlackBerry Curve 9220 became an officially released device, it and the 9320 showed up in some UAProf documents. At the time, we noted that it was part of a series of Curves that were to be released. The "Jazz Series" as it was called which contained three new devices in total. Davis, Armstrong and Wynton were the codenames for them and back then, one device was missing off...

We don't want to see any snubbing Big Red... we want BlackBerry 10 Phones for Sale!
Last night Verizon reported its most recent financial results. The prepared remarks didn't contain anything too interesting that I noticed. But the analyst Q&A session did bring up something I think RIM should be worrying about.
Analyst Phil Cusick from JP Morgan asked Verizon if there is anything they...
BlackBerry 7 devices have been around for a few months, and if you haven't upgraded yet because of pricing or any other reason, you may want to reconsider. Verizon has announced that they will begin charging $30 additional for customers to use their upgrades starting on April 22. In just under two weeks that new BlackBerry 7 device that you have your eyes on will cost you $30 more, that isn't...
