If only they were a GSM Network, it would be a awesome news for people flying to the States... Either way pretty nice to see a pay as you go unlimited data plan, and even nicer to see it's the same price as the postpay one (one wonders, if postpay shouldn't be cheaper then?)

Of course, you go to verizonwireless.com/prepaid and there's nothing there about data plans at all.

Way to have all your ducks in a row.

I get that it won't be sold online until 9/28, but at least say something.

I wonder if I can get data with a daily prepaid plan (which actually saves money), or if I need a monthly prepaid plan (which gets me out of a credit check and a long term contract but doesn't save money).

I have a couple of questions:

I too wonder if they are doing this instead of the rumored "tiered" data plans? But then all this is is giving prepay customers the ability to add data, right?

I still want to see VZW go tiered data as I don't need tht unlimited (thanks to wi-fi)and want to drop down a tier and add a berry for my wife with a low tier too......

I really do think this news is leading to tiered data

One other question:

If one were to put a $10 data plan on a LG enV3, would that data strictly be for web connectivity, or would it allow for TXT? I would doubt that......

For some reason in the world of cell phone plans, SMS text messages are not data.

I switched my wife and daughter to Virgin Mobile with BB Curve for $35 (after tax $38) with 300 minutes and unlimited texting and data. Can't beat that! Both of them over the moon with their BB's.

Rogers now has similar plans out, with BlackBerry ones available on prepaid, however they're only good for e-mail/socializing, and they're not full data plans. The best part is Rogers IS a GSM/HSPA provider, so you can easily have ppl visiting the country make the best of these plans. Check 'em out via http://rogers.com/paygo

NO ! I hope Verizon doesn't follow the suit of tiered data.
I don't have the option of using the WIFI that often and having tiered would not benefit me at all.

Also I have talked to some of the Verizon reps I know and they also hope this doesn't happen with them.

Am I reading and calculating that right?

It would appear the overages for the $10 for 25MB plan are half the rate of the actual plan itself. $10 for 25 MB = $.40/MB and the overage rate is.... $.20/MB.

How the hell does that make any sense?
