So, if you order it online, will you get it before the 25th or is it just a pre-order to be shipped on the 25th?
Scout_313 Aug 15, 2011 at 9:59 am
I ordered mine last night and it's already being shown as shipped, so I'll be expecting it tomorrow.
KidB Aug 15, 2011 at 10:03 am
Get it before the 25th. I expect mine tomorrow.
ericlc2 Aug 15, 2011 at 10:20 am
+1, tomorrow by 3pm, omfg!
kelton Aug 15, 2011 at 9:58 am
Some have suggested that the return policy is more generous if you buy at the physical store.... the 14 day policy doesn't get shortened by the time it takes to ship it.
I think I'm going to want to mess with this phone in the store before I decide.
PJD642, I honor you and your firstness.
themuskoxman Aug 15, 2011 at 9:58 am
It doesnt look like the 9930 will support Mobile Hotspot or Tethering. How come?
RevyRah Aug 15, 2011 at 10:20 am
I believe it's supposed to be included in an os update.
zoomlink1 Aug 15, 2011 at 9:59 am
I'm happy to hear that big red has these phone for sale. What I'm not happy about is that most Verizon deliveries NEED to be signed for to be left at a resident. I know this cause I drive for FedEx. Not to say that it won't come via UPS. To save yourselves a delay in getting your phones, leave a note with your name,(signed not printed) address, and date, authorizing FedEx to leave your package. Its just like baseball with us, you get three strikes (attempts), then its back to the shipper. Get your goods on the first attempt people-leave that note... Or this would be better if you don't trust your neighbors, have it sent to your place of work.
wize00 Aug 15, 2011 at 10:07 am
Very good advice, this guy is totally right.... Unless you authorize it, the carrier can't deliver if you're not there to sign for it and after three attempts, the parcel return to the depot (I used to work for UPS in Europe with the same rules.....)
valorian Aug 15, 2011 at 12:26 pm
If I know I'm getting a package from Verizon, I just leave a note taped to the door saying it's ok to leave the package. The driver has left the package every time.
tnhrocks Aug 15, 2011 at 10:03 am
Bought 2 at 12:01 am this morning! Only paid $199.99 for each after the discount. Woo Hoo!

siddo_d Aug 15, 2011 at 10:09 am
What's the difference between, 9900 and 9930
jeffydude05 Aug 15, 2011 at 10:14 am
GSM and CDMA
clvrbas Aug 15, 2011 at 10:16 am
9900 is the GSM model runs on carriers such as AT&T and Tmo 9930 is the CDMA model runs on Sprint and Verizon
siddo_d Aug 15, 2011 at 10:25 am
Oh, thanks is that the same with 9850 and 9860 and curve 8520 and 8530
clvrbas Aug 15, 2011 at 10:48 am
Yes. Same specs on the phone just different radio technology.
pkcable Aug 15, 2011 at 10:17 am
The big question is will I be able to sleep tonight??????
ericlc2 Aug 15, 2011 at 10:22 am
No, but just think the more you sleep the more energy you'll have for your new crackberry. It's going to be a benedryl night.
clvrbas Aug 15, 2011 at 10:51 am
You could also just take some meletonin to help you sleep :)
ATDM Aug 15, 2011 at 10:21 am
You guys are going to LOVE this phone! This is THE Blackberry. I've had mine for 3 days now and I just can't believe how much easier everything is to do on this phone -- especially typing!!!!
JasW Aug 15, 2011 at 10:33 am
It is THE BlackBerry only if you don't care about its disgrace of a camera.
SteakArmstrong Aug 15, 2011 at 10:39 am
C'mon, it's not THAT bad. It is still a phone remember.
Chiitown_Kruger Aug 15, 2011 at 10:23 am
is the phone a world phone can it be unlocked to work on att ?
spektakle Aug 15, 2011 at 12:08 pm
Buy the one from Rogers and unlock it. It's gsm
nomoredroid Aug 15, 2011 at 10:26 am
I just tried to order mine and the operator said they are having issues with the system. They claim the system is not letting orders through because the "price is too high'? WTF??? They said they hope to have the issue resolved later today
SteakArmstrong Aug 15, 2011 at 10:27 am
TMo was one of the first carriers to come out (I believe in Orlando) and said, "Oh yeah, the 9900... we're gonna carry that phone!" Well how is it they still have not released a date or a price? Have I missed it completely? I am dying a slow death trying to patient for limited information they give but I haven't a word since then... Its been a long Christmas Eve night if ya catch my drift.
gemini9109 Aug 15, 2011 at 10:36 am
I'm praying and keeping my fingers crossed that Alltel releases this phone as well b/c Verizon doesn't work that well in my area . I honestly don't know how much more I can put up w/my 9650 freezing up on me nd having to do a battery pull to correct it !
skynny70 Aug 15, 2011 at 10:40 am
The smart phone gods are watching over me for sure. I dropped my old Storm2 in a parking lot yesterday and shattered the touch screen. This morning I called to get a replacement phone through work and was rewarded with the question if I wanted the new Bold. YES! Should have mine tomorrow.
Now I just have to patiently wait for all me favorite apps to be compatible with BBOS7.
montyl Aug 15, 2011 at 11:17 am
Just got off the phone with Verizon, should have mine in hand by lunchtime tomorrow, and they say I get to keep my unlimited data package. :)
QBert Aug 15, 2011 at 1:14 pm
So vzw said you could keep your unlimited data? Are you currently on BB or Android or iPhone? Just curious because I'm currently on an Android w/ unlimited data, but considering the 9930. Was worried though because when vzw first announced the new data plans, rumors were that if you switched from data on an Android device to data on BB, then that is a different type of data plan and even though I was grandfathered in, it wouldn't apply if I switched to a BB data plan, since they're different and would have to switch to a tiered plan? Any info would be appreciated!
montyl Aug 15, 2011 at 2:03 pm
Was told yesterday that with a device change BB to BB I would lose my unlimited plan. But the lady on the phone this morning said that according to her computer the unlimited plan transfered over to my new phone. I suspect though that had I been changing from XX to BB I would lose it.
QBert Aug 15, 2011 at 2:42 pm
TThanks. Not what I was hoping to hear, but good to know. Really wish I could have freedom to change platforms and keep unlimited data. Is this how you treat your loyal customers of 10+ years vzw?
JimmyBX Aug 15, 2011 at 11:24 am
When is the 9850 coming out for VZN? Looks like August is out of the question.
flyersfan76 Aug 15, 2011 at 11:25 am
The press release and the website make no mention of NFC. Is that because nobody knows what it is so why bother writing it.
Also for those that wonder I was asked if I wanted to add mobile hotspot SO if I was and they are charging me then it better be in there. I will no by the time FedEx decides to get to my office.
Raptor007 Aug 15, 2011 at 12:40 pm
I noticed that as well, and my fear is they did disable it, but hopefully they just hid the feature instead. But this is Verizon we are talking about.
PostMortem Aug 15, 2011 at 11:35 am
This is nice and all, but announce the Torch 9850 already. THAT is what I'm waiting on now that I heard the BOLD camera has issues. I was torn between the two, and since I still have my Storm2, I don't mind not having a physical keyboard. I DO however take LOADS of pictures with my BB, so autofocus is a must.
peterbresnan Aug 15, 2011 at 12:04 pm
Ordered mine :)
nomoredroid Aug 15, 2011 at 12:08 pm
I ordered mine on line....the customer service peeps had issues, so I went to online. I cant believe VZW is charging $20 for this to have a hotspot? WTF?? Ill have mine Wednesday they said.
adel1986 Aug 15, 2011 at 12:10 pm
The camera issue is a deal breaker... need auto-focus and will sacrifice NFC to keep the AF lens that the 9850 features instead of the Bold 9930.
Anyone know when the 9850 is launching for VZW??? I cant wait!
nomoredroid Aug 15, 2011 at 12:12 pm
Does this COME with an SD card?
adel1986 Aug 15, 2011 at 12:24 pm
no sd card... they are so cheap... they're nickel and dime-ing us
Venom07 Aug 15, 2011 at 12:31 pm
Woohoo! $169.99 with free shipping, can't wait!
SassyD Aug 15, 2011 at 1:22 pm
How did you work that one out?
Venom07 Aug 15, 2011 at 1:32 pm
I called the rep up to order because there were problems on the website. She mentioned it was $199.99 and then I asked about my NE2 and she looked and said that I was eligible and dropped it another $30. Now I just can't wait to get it delivered.
rkopsie Aug 15, 2011 at 2:30 pm
Mines better, only $159.99 ;)
robpasell Aug 15, 2011 at 12:42 pm
Should be getting mine tomorrow. Hopefully the Torch is release for Verizon soon so we can test it as well.
nomoredroid Aug 15, 2011 at 1:13 pm
the SD card issue is a real dumb move by VZw....wtf??? will any SD card work in this?
kenn80 Aug 15, 2011 at 2:13 pm
Any micro SD card will work with it
iirundis05 Aug 15, 2011 at 1:52 pm

Just ordered mine and it should arrive tomorrow, can't wait!!!.......Storm 2, its been real but I've gotta bounce
rkopsie Aug 15, 2011 at 2:27 pm
HEY FELLOW BLACKBERRY ADDICTS!..
so I called Verizon (for online wouldn't work) to order the Bold Touch 9930
& she said its $249.99 but told her online it gave to me for $199.99 BUT wouldn't let me process it
So she said she will give me a free month off my bill saving me $90 which overall means my NEW Bold 9930 = $159.99
iamjohnnytrox Aug 15, 2011 at 3:14 pm
Screw this, where's the torch already????
iamjohnnytrox Aug 15, 2011 at 3:15 pm
It's kind of funny to me that the first comments made about the release of a new blackberry, are people asking for a different one.
tino72#CB Aug 15, 2011 at 6:42 pm
After ordering mine this morning I was able to keep my unlimited data going from iPhone 4 to bb data. Gave me the option
bquilla Aug 15, 2011 at 7:28 pm

classact Aug 16, 2011 at 6:51 pm
Isn't an all-touch Torch a Storm? Isn't a Torch a slider? Or has that changed? I'd love to see a slider on VZW. Is anyone expecting that anytime soon?
classact Aug 16, 2011 at 6:49 pm
I'm disappointed after having seen articles saying this would be 4G. Oh, well. Maybe someday.
