The only thing that was "accurate" was the price but no surprises here..

CRRRRREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAM

By: Its about time (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:31

Does a NE2 discount of $100 apply thus making it $99?

By: DJCG (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:07

I was wondering the same thing.. my ne2 comes on the 31st of this month. Usually I get a $100 discount with it, so wondering if we'll be able to get this for $99.

By: pos190 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:31

Good news! If you have a $50 or $100 New Every Two credit on your account, you will be able to use that with the $199, potentially making your new Storm $99.99 after rebate!

By: DJCG (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:47

Thanks! That is great news. Makes the extra week I have to wait for my ne2 to kick in, almost worth it. Hard to put off the storm for a week, but I'll manage.

By: Anonymous (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/20/2008 - 16:46

I called today and Big Red said I was unable to use my NE2 discount.

By: webbie128 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:32

Does happy dance.
Man, I am so glad that this is over so I can get some work done. I think my coworkers are ready to string me up lol
I can not wait for next friday!!!

By: cap10mark | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:29

I'm off of work with a foot injury, so I will be waiting at the store for them to open!

By: wILLZ10 | Date: Fri, 11/14/2008 - 13:40

Any idea if Best buy will be geting it the same day?? If they don't I already have a spot picked out in the parking lot of the Verizon Store, TAILGATE!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE (November 14th 1:30pm): Best Buy just called my appoinment is Friday the 21st at 11am no need to wait in line!!!!!!! 199.99 - 50.00(deposit)I am glad that I waited to switch my wife's line from AT&T...... she gets the Curve I get the Storm!!!!!!!!

By: Anonymous (not verified) | Date: Tue, 11/18/2008 - 13:43

Just be careful. I had the storm reserved at best buy until today.

Found out if you upgrade your phone thru best buy, the storm will actually cost you $280, however if you upgrade at an actual VZ store it will be $199.

Don't know why there is that difference, probably best buy trying to get more money from ppl to increase their profit. I am bettering VZ doesn't give them a big of a pay out for upgrades as they do for new cx...

By: Kim817 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:40

but somethin is tellin me to wait a couple of months before i get it .

Dont want to deal with a buggy phone =/

ugh idk screw it im getting it !
lol.

By: nfoman | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:45

Thats great news, now hopefully Telus and Bell will confirm a date.

By: ericiu | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:48

WOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!

By: Gawain | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:49

Does that mean I'll get a debit card mailed to me instead of a check? Other than that....exciting!!!

By: wILLZ10 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:50

about a month ago I received a rebate card from Verizon and the funds were actually transferable to a bank account... not sure if it will be the same but it is possible....

By: pos190 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:33

Verizon Wireless offers debit card rebates now instead of checks. The funds ARE transferrable to your bank account!

By: eMpTy43 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 12:25

It is possible to transfer the funds BUT ONLY IF IT'S THE FULL $50. If you use the card for even one purchase, the transfer option is voided.

By: affguy | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 10:01

If I understood your post on that other side correctly, you'll be getting two of them (just to keep the wife happy) ;-)

By: someone | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:50

I will definitely be getting this on the 21st :)

By: webbie128 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:50

Gawain, that is correct. no check

By: BabiCakes | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:50

Thank goodness I get paid on the 20th!!! About Time!!!

By: Anonymous 999 (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:52

How can I wait until next Friday?!?!?!?

By: Storm obession (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:48

The storm is 100 time better than the iphone. i cannot wait to get this phone. I have to pay the $520 price tag but it is so worth the money

By: eMpTy43 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 12:30

I've never been a touchscreen fan but this phone kicks every other touchscreen phone's a$$. I'll be at my VZW store an hour before they open an hour early for this thing baby!

Anyone want to buy my VZW 8330 Curve (only has 1 or 2 scratches!) ?????

I figure Storm for $520 - Curve sold for $250 - iPod Nano 3rd gen sold for $100 = $170 for my NEW STORM! :) :) :) :)

By: Anonymous | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 16:33

Why would someone buy a used & slightly scratched Curve for $250 when they can get a new Storm for $199? :-D

By: reyam (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 22:44

Hey moron, you haven't even touched a Storm. Don't try comparing it to an iPhone. You have nothing to base that stupid opinion on. The Storm's processor is not even as fast as the Bold's so you are not even getting RIM's best product. Oh, that's right, you need it to text your pimply faced 8th grade buddies about the Cheerleading Captain. Fag.

By: ABLTrojans | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:50

I will be nowhere near work next friday. Cant wait!

By: new every two (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:57

On october 26th my palm's speaker stopped working, so i went to the local verizon store to get it fixed. they told me that I would not be able to get it fixed and that i could use my new every two. i explained to them that i was holding out until the storm came out to get a new phone, and they explained to me that I could use my ne2 to get a phone and if the storm came out within 30 days of oct 26th, i could exchange my ne2 for the storm and pay the difference. Plus i have a $50 credit, so needless to say, im looking forward to 11/21

By: pos190 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:34

You do have 30 days, just remeber you'll be incurring an exchange fee when you change to the Storm!

By: jbates14760 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:43

just go to the store now and return your curve. Switch back to a junk phone for a week. Just sent my Curve back 2 weeks ago. No fees, no bs. That is unless you mailed in the rebate. If you did your screwed. Then it's gonna be full retail.

By: pos190 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:56

Verizon Wireless has a "Rebate SKU" for people who sent in their rebates but want to exchange the phone. It charges you for the $50 in-store that you get back in the mail. So you don't have to pay full retail.

By: jbates14760 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 10:44

Thank you I was not aware of that. I was told by a csr that once mailed in you were screwed. Should have known better than to trust a sales rep lol. thanks.

By: cant wait (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:57

11/21 will be my senior skip day for a phone. yeah baby

By: jh4for5 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 08:58

There's no price or date on my screen when I click the link. Just the same page that's been up there.

By: linkkoriri | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:06

What a sick birthday present! :O My B-Day is November 21st. ^_^ Any other BB Storm Birthday people out there? :D So I already have it booked off over a month ago. So no excuses needed. I just hope that Bell Mobility Canada takes the same release date.

I knew it! The verizon website was unavailable at around 2 a.m., and I was praying that it was what i thought it was. YESSSSSS! The price is perfect, and perfect timing for Black Friday!

By: hacktheplanet (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 10:15

Spark, black Friday is the 28th.

By: aketch | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:11

Alright! It's about time! Now, if only I get an early upgrade offer because I'm not due til next June.

By: wooo whoo (not verified) | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:11

I have come up to my 2 yr trade-in period where I am actually qualified for a $150 off a new phone with Verizon if I resign a 2 year contract. No way will I pass up this deal for the Storm!

By: markcb | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:12

in the great words of ali g - "boyashaka!"

By: Kill3r.Conc3ptz | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:16

By: scottlucky13 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:20

It shows up on the homepage for me. :) Looks like i will be a little late coming into work on friday! Man traffic was crazy!!!!

By: jedigeekhalo | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:21

i will pass...i just got my blackberry curve 2 months ago. so maybe in a couple of years.

By: BrianFTC | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:18

Storm obsession - where did you get the info saying it would be $520 as retail price? I am thinking about it but if it goes down a bit for the real holiday season in a week or two, I will wait....

By: Sidekick_Traitor | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 22:56

the price wont change in 3 months let alone 2 weeks...

if you've had your current phone for 6+ months, with a renewal you may qualify for discounted pricing even if your not up for your standard upgrade. (With Blackberrys sometimes mgrs are willing to upgrade early)

I have a curve and a voyager... im dropping my voyager and i'll have a curve and a storm... only problem is since i am a verizon employee i wont have it at launch.

By: MadtownTim | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:27

It's also on the front page of the website.

By: MPSmith1 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 09:40

I don't see the $519 retail price on any front page, either VZW's or crackberry's. Could someone please direct me?

Thanks

By: eMpTy43 | Date: Thu, 11/13/2008 - 12:33

It's probably on the 2nd page of the Crackberry blogs page with all the new info that's been posted in the last couple days...
