In our last podcast we had a caller leave a message (a.k.a. friendly rant) on the lack of Verizon BlackBerry 8330 Curve leaked photos out there. Over the past few weeks many photos have surfaced of the 8330 on Sprint, but that hasn't quite been the case for Verizon.
The image at right was posted in the CrackBerry forums earlier today (thanks cate!) and comes via a "reliable source". You can check out the forum thread for details. So if you're a Verizon customer worried by the lack of Verizon 8330 Curve photos to date, don't fret - the CDMA Curve will soon be coming to you as I'm sure it will be hitting all of the North American CDMA carriers in the near future. Regarding release dates, at this point all of the info out there suggests we'll see CDMA carriers launching the 8330 in April and May.
Oh, and if you want to listen to our podcast caller, the message begins at 1:02:50 of the podcast (and we promise to keep our next episode shorter!). But there you have it Karl, Verizon BlackBerry 8330 Curve Love!

This will be my next blackberry. My contract is up for renewal in October I believe, so I will keep my Pearl till then. (Maybe longer, I really like my Pearl :) )

The silver is great and all but I'm really going to need a better color. I kind of sort of have a 8830 and 8130 of the same flavor!

Although a part of me is happy that they finally released a curve for verizon but honestly whats the point. Verizon disables the GPS feature that comes with the phone also you cant install the free AIM app that blackberry offers. So why bother.

Definite hotness, but...when? I just don't understand why VZW always uses the same screen shot for their devices.

verizon is the worst ever
Anonymous Mar 28, 2008 at 2:13 pm
your comment is based on what experiences w/ VZW?

Verizon is internally calling the 8330 launch May 15th. However, they working to speed delivery, and bring the curve live on May 5th.
You heard it here first- it took me the last month to snoop this information out internally.

Verizon is the worst at playing games with launch dates. They outright lie to generate sales of existing blackberry inventory just like they did with some of the Motorola phones.

I had an 8830 but returned it because the ringer even on high was very soft. Has anyone heard of the same problem with the 8330?

just use vibrate... ringers are retarded.

Hey,
I am looking into getting a curve from AT&T, but don't want to jump the gun. Does anyone know if AT&T will get a new curve this year??
Just wondering
Thanks

I was in a verizon store on Saturday about to replace my POS Motorola Q, with a Blackberry World, when the cute clerk talked me out of it. Explaining the Balckberry curve is coming out in 3 days. She let me know the phones were already in the store, but were unable to sell them until Tuesday. Official release date: April 29th

Where was this? I just called VZW and they have no information on this. I figure I will try a corporate store just in case today.

i just purchased mine on May 17th, and i LOVE IT! The fact that it doesnt have VCAST doesnt bother me at all. The camera is way better than i thought also. I have a friend who has the curve by TMOBILE and its camera is horrible. The sound quality is good to me, and all of my ringtones play great! Im very satisfied. =]

I had the 8830 and left it. I started to use 8330 and it is really user friendly! A whole lot easier and it doesn't freeze like 8830 did in the past.
Very happy with it!!!

This was my first year to have a Verizon phone, I have a Samsung Gleam and it's never given me any trouble but sending me texts from 2008 like one time, but other then that it's been a perfectly good phone, Although the service sometimes in places isn't very good.
I am getting a Blackberry Curve 8330 Pink This Wednesday for my birthday and I've been reading a lot of the reviews and videos for the phone, And it doesn't seem like to bad of a phone. They've said that the battery dies down really fast, well of course if your on it 24/7, i know i will be when i first get it. Who wouldn't be?
I'm very glad Verizon came out with this phone, I think i like Verizon better then i do T-Mobile, T-Mobile's phones lag a lot and their reception is terrible.

You will be sadly disappointed if you upgrade to a 9650 or other Blackberry. The curve is wonderful, I hate the 9650. I won't go into all the details, but I think Blackberry made a huge mistake with 9650.
