US Cellular getting BlackBerry Bold 9650 in 'early August'

US Cellular BlackBerry Bold 9650

US Cellular announced today via their Facebook page that the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is on its way. The device has already been released on both Sprint and Verizon, so as with the last few CDMA devices it's no surprise that US Cellular isn't far behind. 

We're thrilled to announce that the new BlackBerry Bold 9650 will be coming to U.S. Cellular stores in early August! It's got a 2.4 HVGA Display, 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi, Optical Track Pad Navigation and World Phone capabilities. Yes, this is one great smartphone --- if we may be so, ahem, bold. :) 

No official date has been set but we should have more info in the coming weeks. Also, no sign of the device on their official site just yet, but it shouldn't be long before it pops up in "coming soon" style.

Was getting a little worried about not seeing it yet, but now I'll sleep better. Especially since my 8330 will be getting a much needed retirement.

The national carriers usually release a device a quarter or two (or more) before US Cellular. That used to be frustrating, but I don't feel that way anymore. Now I see USCC's delay as a benefit in the form of a larger selection of accessories, OS (or even hardware) fixes, etc. Waiting sucks, no doubt, but there are benefits.

Big deal here in St Louis, it's like a big 4x4 pickup truck with a 4-cylinder engine. a BB without 3g is useless to me

I'm tired of "tour"ing with USC. I am ready to get "Bold", make a statement and finally have a phone with the features I was SUPPOSED to have nearly 8 months ago. Its about time USC decided to step up, now I just hope they do like VZW and use the bold as a tour replacement or offer a trade-up option for Tour owners.

Yet another US mobile company carrying the BB 9650.
What's up with the Canadian carriers?

I got my 9650 on Sprint last week. I think it is the best BB yet. I would upgrade to it when you can.

Does anyone know if USCC will be getting the new Pearl? I had a 8130 and loved it. I replaced it with a Touch Pro2 and hate it! I want my smaller phone back. Any ideas if or when???
