UberSocial, formerly UberTwitter, now available for download

For those of you still lost when it comes to what Twitter client to use we have some great news of you're a former UberTwitter user. Twitter has removed the suspension on the oh so popular Twitter client after the changes were submitted for it to be known as UberSocial. UberSocial has been re-enabled and as such can now be downloaded directly from the UberSocial website. Now that the mess has been cleaned up and things are right in the Twitter universe again, enjoy folks!

Just found a bug, I can't customize the notifications for UberSocial, it just doesn't appear under profile management. My device is a Bold 9700 with OS 6.0.0.461, I've already done a battery pull, and nothing changes. Any follow???

Having the same problem on my 9650 with OS6 .466. Can't find the way to customize or even set notifications in either the Settings area or in BerryBuzz.

UberSocial posted on their Twitter a while ago that there's an update to fix that bug, so you can just download it from their site. Just went and did that. It's finally working! :)

One problem though, that error message that keeps poping up everytime you try to post something saying the user does not permit the app or something is so annoying. Other than that it kills every other social app for the bb.

Installed it, killed my device (Torch). having to reload via apploader.

Why do I do this to myself - just gonna stay with Twitter for BB. Love that client. Used to lovev Uber.

My big complaint with T4BB is the lack of an "email tweet" option. I use that all the time to forward myself web links that I want to look at on a real computer, or reference for later. Social scope doesn't have this either. T4BB is also pretty ugly as far as UI's go...

I hung on to an old version of UT to avoid the flashing ad bar, if it comes right down to it I'll pay for the app to get rid of the adds and keep a decent twitter client.

You can email tweets w/ SocialScope by click 'Share (ReTweet)' and then choosing 'Email'. Follow me @Tony_Time

with US you can send tweets to instapaper and read them at a later time on your PC. I have both for about 2 years now, but have to say I Unber is better. I like the way Social Scope an all in 1 feature. Ubersocial is the best.

I'm having issues! Everytime I try to look at someones profile or a trending topic, it opens up in Twitter for Blackberry! I deleted Twitter for Blackberry now I cant click on profiles or links.. does anyone know how I can fix this?

Übersocial have tweeted they know there is an issue with the sound option. I have used all the twitter apps I think, uber is so much better. I have nothing against RIM & I wished they looked at ubers app & took the best from that. The UI is horrible, no multi acct support. With ss I am able to add 2 accts, is that the max? Seesmic's best quality is you can post to multi accts at the same time.

Only minor bug is you can't block from menu. You have to block from a persons profile. Other than that its great on the 8530. Let's not get me started on the fast click of a persons profile from a tweet. That was a great feature on a mobile.

I'd love to see Uber create their own twitter like social network and watch twitter fail.

Socialscope is cool, but personally I don't use it for the same reason I don't use the "messages" folder. I prefer my social networks and what comes from them to my phone are seperate. And I've also used about 7 twitter apps. Uberwhatever is the winner.

Twitter for BB 1.13 is so much better now. They have the follower and # list. The colors are much better. It updates. And the little bird icon is kinda cute. It does everything i need it to do and more. Im gonna stick with T4BB.

If you want some whatever, use those other guys. I want my uber back. I downloaded and installed the ubersocial, but keep getting "Forbidden!" message. Having a rough time adjusting to twitter without my uber. Going to the crackberry forums to see if there is a solution. I can't deal with these inferior twitter clients. Inferior... all of them.

version 1.175 which fixes the sound issue, @ubersoc tweeted the new update! it also fixed the the option to click on somebody twitter name from a tweet! Enjoy! @slim_wes

SS might be nice, but I can't ever get an invite! Been waiting for about a year and I keep missing everyone else when they ask who wants it. So T4BB or Uber will have to work for me! If SS hasn't responded by now they can keep it.

If you are a loyal and long time Twidroyd user, don’t worry. UberSocial has a “Twidroyd theme” for those of you that liked the old look, and if that’s not enough, you can still grab the old version of Twidroyd Legacy from the Android Market, although it will no longer get any updates. For Twidroyd Pro users, UberSocial had these ensuring words to say on its blog:
If you are a former Twidroyd Pro User: please leave Twidroyd Pro on your phone so that when we make changes to UberSocial for Android in the next few weeks, your phone’s device # will automatically trigger the premium version of UberSocial for Android. Currently, there is no difference between regular and premium versions of the stakes.
As a long time Twidroyd user, I’d have to say that this will only make the platform stronger. Twidroyd has some pretty awesome engineers whose introduced many features way ahead of the official Twitter app. A year ago, I remember having the access to multiple accounts, trending topics, and auto-complete hashtags (to name a few) way before the official Twitter app offered it. Hopefully, as a customer I can expect the best is yet to come; with a UberSocial partnership.
