Twitter for BlackBerry v3.0.0.11 now available in the BlackBerry Beta Zone

Along with Facebook, Twitter for BlackBerry has hit the BlackBerry Beta Zone again with some fresh new features. It's been a while since we've seen an update, so if you've been waiting for a while then grab this one while you can.

New features of Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones 3.0 include:

BBM Connected App Integration
New Tweet Layout
Twitter Photo Service Support
Automatic Link Shortening
Promoted Tweets
Improved Notifications for Wi-Fi Only Users

Yes! I've been waiting for the update that brought "promoted tweets" (or ADS by any other name). *sarcasm* :(

Funny how the "promoted tweet" I saw yesterday was about RIM releasing the Playbook OS 2.0...

when you select a promoted tweet, the option "dismiss" appears in the menu. if you click it all of the promoted ads vanish. and since i clicked it a few hours ago, i haven't received another one. And i haven't seen that menu option since then either lol. im happy. though the app is a little schizo, hopefully they'll address that.

From the beta page, no link to download the client as opposed to the Facebook beta. Anyone was able to successfully download this beta ?

Guibs, i found it, keep going through the pages, at one point it did throw me for a loop but i was able to get to the "downlaod" button

After ready your post, I went back and finally found it. It wasn't in the download tab like it should be (and like the facebook link was).

The only thing i found useful in this update is the shorten link, but i still have a problem with repeating tweets...Oh well lets hope one day it will be fixed.

For now im gonna use UberSocial (UberTweet).

Crap, I thought we would get out of the new twitter with the ads in your timeline. I freakin' hate them on the pc. Please RIM, give the option to get rid of them.

Plenty updates coming at us this fb and bbm all on beta in last day coupled with regular leaks on os 7.1 and at long last os 2 for pb happy days me finks !!

Have you tried Blaq? It's pretty awesome, especially with being able to view links inside the app.

Agreed, where is the Official Twitter for Playbook app, thought that would have been there out the box or at least in OS 2.0 since Facebook has been onboard from the get go.

looks the same but performance is definitely improved. doesn't get hung up and scrolls really smooth. still using this for the push notifications mostly, UberSocial is still my main twitter app. great to see updates and improvements coming though!

Will this be out of the Beta zone soon? I'm kind of disappointed, I expected to see a whole new app, I mean, we -are- talking about a whole new version, from 2.1 to 3, I wanted to see the app with the same redesign work that's on iPhone and Android, but from the picture and the change log I see that didn't happen.. oh well.
