I may switch from ubertwitter if TFBB would remember your spot in the timeline. Annoying...

T4BB actually does remember ur spot in the timeline but you have to keep it highligted on the last tweet that you read AND you have to press the end key on ur BB. When you go back to the twitter app later on to read any new tweets u will be on the same spot where the last tweet u read.

I hope this fixes that annoying "invalid signature" error.

Does the version number really need to be that long!

I agree with @Tony_Time - I can't ditch UberTwitter, it's just too good. I think that I ended up going back to UberTwitter because of the notification options (I want a sound alert on new Tweets in certain profiles, muted in others) and I always want notification of @Replies and Direct Messages.

Twitter for Blackberry (T4BB) only beats UberTwitter in one significant area which is push notification on Direct Messages. (or at least it feels like push somehow) UberTwitter has to wait for a refresh to get DMs, which means a significant delay. I have my refresh set on 30 minutes to conserve battery.

Integrating DMs into the messaging window is nice as well, but not a must have. T4BB does this nicely. A nice solution to get both is to run T4BB and UberTwitter simultaneously, as T4BB appears to not really run, but still push DMs to my device.

I seem to get notified of new tweets, @mentions, and DM's on the native twitter app... And I also seem to have alerts for all of them as well.

I wasn't clear enough. UberTwitter has the following capability:

1. Alert visually on the main icon of new Tweets
2. Alert visually on the "icon bar" of new Tweets
3. Alert LED of new Tweets
4. Alert audio of new Tweets

It has independent settings for all 4 of the above (the last two using BB Profiles) as well as independent settings for DMs and @Replies.

Twitter for Blackberry does not allow this, as far as I can tell. I like getting an audio alert in some profiles for new tweets, but don't necessarily want to see the notification on the icon bar. This isn't necessarily a big deal, but being able to toggle between sounds and no sounds on new Tweets is a big deal. I don't see a way to do that with T4BB. Of course, I don't have much choice now that UberTwitter is down for the count.

Well, I love Ubertwitter rather than T4BB. I know its lack of message integration especially on DMs. But you can receive email for DMs on Twitter account setting on the website, then all you have to do is set the email you've used for the DMs to the Blackberry push email service. There now you receive and read the DMs in real-time without waiting.

Ahh good tip! I'll have to set this up.

i'm still a fan of socialscope. i don't think there's another app that's just as all-in-one and efficiet as it. i really hate that they have limit cap on invites but if you can get, it puts all of these other apps out of the water.

2 twitter accounts, tabs, facebook, foursquare and flickr - all-in-one.

i think i would use TFBB more if they allowed for multiple accounts like Twitter for iPhone does. it would make more sense.

I got my invite tos social scope but it won't even open on my blackberry 9650. Totally killed my day.

you have to uninstall and reinstall the app. they are doing maintenance on the app today so that might be a problem also.

IMO, not allowing multiple accounts is one of the main downfalls of TfBB. I really do like how UberTwitter handles multiple accounts, but Uber seems to drain my battery compared to TfBB.

If this is an upgrade why do I have version 1.0.1.7 on my torch already. I upgraded from a notice from BlackBerry Apps World awhile back.

Posted by girlontherun Wednesday, Feb 16, 2011 466 days ago

Its an UPDATE not an upgrade (I don't know why it says that, when we update). Its just the latest version. Why is this a question?

Posted by kymsurv Wednesday, Feb 16, 2011 466 days ago

I have the same as magnetman, so i don't see the point

1.0.1.12 is a newer than 1.0.1.7.

But it does appear to be a maintenance release. If you aren't having problems, it probably isn't worth upgrading.

I've tried a lot of Twitter platforms but I decided to stick with the Twitter for Blackberry app. I like how you can quote tweets and it's so simple to use it makes my life easier. Just updated it and there seems to be no problems.

I'm not a very complicated person, which is why I wanted a Blackberry to be honest. I use it most for BBM, texts, and emails. I couldn't handle something that would distract me, I would never get any work done

The new BBM version though, that's another story. Throwing it so much side-eye...

When I log in it says Loading at the bottom of the screen, but tweets never get loaded, looks like it's back to using the Web version in Bolt for me grrrrrrr.

Let me know when it saves your position in the timeline after you exit/reload the program. Until then I'll stick with Ubertwitter.

This "update" doesn't notify me anymore of replies & direct messages!
Anyone let me know if I'm not the only one with this problem thanks!

I'm not sure if it's related to rkopsie's issue or not but I've NEVER been able to get audio alerts to work mentions/replies. I can see the "t" icon on the home screen so I know it is aware of new tweet replies and I have the "twitter - new mentions" alert configured for tone (both in and out of holster).

Any ideas?
