Win an Invite Code to Download an Early Copy of Twitter for BlackBerry! Just leave a comment to this post that contains your twitter username.

Twitter for BlackBerry SmartphonesTwitter for BlackBerry Smartphones

It's no secret that Research in Motion has been working on their own Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones client for some time now. Word of it has popped up on the blogs a few times now and we've seen it make tweets and it has even been mentioned at recent BlackBerry launch events. Twitter users will be happy to know that today Twitter for BlackBerry has taken a big step closer to becoming a reality for users out there has RIM has announced it in beta form and made it avaliable for invite-only download from blackberry.com/twitterdownload. And you can sign up to receive updates from RIM on the availability of the Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones at blackberry.com/twitter. Right now, the invite-only beta is available in six languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese and it's looking like the beta should last "around a month" after which I can only imagine it will soon become available to everyone.

While Adam goes to work whipping up a video review of the new Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones client as part of his Ultimate Twitter Client Roundup (we'll report back soon with more), here's an exciting contest...

Win an Invite Code to Try the Official Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones App before everyone else: Yup, that's right, we were able to get hooked up with some extra invite codes and we're giving them away to lucky CrackBerry readers. We'll be spreading this one out.  We have a couple we'll give away tomorrow and a bunch more we'll announce to winners over the course of next week. To enter, just leave a comment to this blog post that contains your twitter user ID. While you're at it, why not tell us what features you value most in a twitter client. GOOD LUCK!

The Twitter network is very fast-paced in nature. Any successful Twitter client need to easily provide its users the ability to organize/customize its views and notification rules - following Twitters footsteps in having a functional yet user-friendly and simplistic interface.

love the 'tweet from menu' feature, also the 'post links from browser' function, this must be the surely the twitter client that we've all been waiting for!

the most important features for me are the abilty to easily access timelines, direct messsages & mentions of friends, easily and to myself be able to tweet with the minimum of fuss & effort, when and where i feel the need, thats why the tweet from menu feature sounds amazing

Intergration with other BB apps/contacts would be a great little feature

This would be great to have cause it would work a lot better than all the other Twitter clients... Especially with displaying new tweets or messages on the homescreen! I would LOVE a code! Thanks so much!

It would great to win this! Not only am I addicted to my blackberry, I am addicted to twitter. What could be better than a using a twitter app created by RIM on my Blackberry! I know it will probably be buggy but I am willing to tolerate it and submit my feedback to the developers to make it better.

Pick me! @JuicyAri

@iamTE

Valuable Features:
*Quick TwitPic or TweetPhoto Loading is a PLUS!
*Quick Posting of tweet is a plus x4. Sometimes ubertwitter tends to be stuck on its "sending..." screen. I hate that.
*Being able to delete tweets from your phone is a VERY huge plus also!
*Last But not Least..I like Uber Twitters @ thing where when u type @, it brings up a list of all your friends and you can choose. This helps because i never remember anyones twitter name.

If the BB Twitter Client has the above..Im More than in!!!

CB..Hook me up plz! @iamTE

I love native RIM apps, they have a nicer feel than others :)
In a Twitter client, I value speed (which I wish this one was faster, but I'm sure it will be by release)

For me, the 3 needed features are:
Speed, low battery consumption and integration with Blackberry apps.

for me the big things would be message list integration, though it doesn't appear that @replies are included in that, though I could be wrong. Lists, too.

I use Socialscope (an early Lite version) and though I do love it, it does have several missing things that I'm sure newer versions and the new RIM client have. I'll probably never be 100% happy with whichever client I use, but I think these newer apps are definitely a step in the right direction.
