Maybe it will be enough to pull me back from Seesmic. Seesmic is just so fast and light. Also, there needs to be a way to remove that banner at the top with the clouds. It is unnecessary and takes up precious screen space.

"Quote tweets (ability to edit ReTweets)
Auto complete for @ usernames"

The only two features it was missing as far as my twitter needs go. Awesome

Yyyesssss I'm Soooooo happy about these 2 updates. I guess I'll have to say bye bye to Uber Twitter now!

Posted by Kiddo_24 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

I bought UberTwitter. I can't let it go but I'd like to have Twitter for BlackBerry too. Got two BBs anyway =P

That was all I wanted: edit RT's and Friend Picker, now I can finally get rid of UT. I have both and switch between them very often. Now, I just need one: Twitter for Blackberry :)

The RIM client is much more nicely integrated into the phone than UT, now with these two features -- the reasons most UT users gave for sticking with UT -- the only reason to stick to UT would be to avoid the RIM client's battery drain (which is not completely remedied by logging out, imho).

I was just wondering when they'd let us edit RTs. Can't wait for the update.

Auto complete @ will make me move from Uber I think! Nice one!

Posted by exwindchaser Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

I got the email from the BB PR peeps about this and actually got my article up before you guys! Yay first time ever! http://afx.cc/e73

All that's missing is multiple accounts

Posted by kellidotca Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

I was really hoping this feature would be included.

Posted by luqman24 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

And Twitlonger

Posted by JRF_8520 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Twitlonger was pretty neat, but it's not as important to me as the other 2. Still, I hope they'll include that later?

Posted by elgrant Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

My thoughts exactly. Having a business and personal account, it's easier when they are combined. Similar to what SocialScope is doing.

If Twitter for BB can do it without the memory leaks, and add all those other updates, I may be inclined to switch.

Need Multiple accounts and i will finally let go of uber. I love this update though!

Posted by callmeforge Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Good updates coming. Still would like to see multiple accounts to really pull me away from Ubertwitter.

Posted by McNooberson Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

I like the client, but it has some features missing. And it always seems to have problems connecting to twitter when no other twitter app I have has an issue.

Posted by joandrade Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

I like it because of the Message Box integration. I have everything in my "Messages" app (SMS, email, facebook) so twitter was a nice addition to it. It actually made me leave Ubertwitter altogether (Unless at fridays, making followfridays typing every username is a time consuming process).
The only extra complain I have is that sometimes the App is that sometimes it 'crashes', not leaving me write anything else, but still counting characters. Does this happen to anyone else?

Posted by InpherKnow Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Everytime I put in a hashtag the same problem for me happens. These are welcome improvements!

Posted by tedesco Thursday, May 20, 2010 633 days ago

I get the same issue. Seems to happen with hashtags and sometimes when I try to enter a link.

Posted by luqman24 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

I was also hoping it would have "Twitlonger" which is on Ubertwitter. I just don't like that character limit on Twitter. That's one of the reasons I went with Ubertwitter. I hope this enough to pull me back to Twitter for blackberry lol. But other than that, great progress! (Y)

Posted by devGOD Thursday, May 20, 2010 633 days ago

twitter is suppose to be short and quick updates... not a long explanation of whats going on. I always stop following people that "twitlonger". i dont needed to know every detail

Posted by GargoyleDC Thursday, May 20, 2010 633 days ago

but sometimes you need that extra space when sending out news....

Posted by devGOD Thursday, May 20, 2010 633 days ago

there are always ways to rewrite or shorten your message. leave out a comma, explanation mark, use sms style text words, etc.

Posted by zarzamora_hermosa Thursday, May 20, 2010 633 days ago

If you need more than 140 characters, you simply are not being creative enough. Twitter is supposed to be micro-blogging. If you need more characters, start a blog and let people follow you there.

With some people following hundreds, even thousands of accounts, adding extra characters really drags it out.

I'm just hoping that when I leave the app and come back, it'll start me off at the last tweet I viewed. I love this about Ubertwitter. If they've added that...bye bye Uber.

Posted by carrickfergus Thursday, May 20, 2010 633 days ago

It does. Just leave the timeline on the "home" tag when you're done and close with the end call button. The next time you go in, start a downward scroll and it will scroll down to the last read tweet.

Posted by ortonauta Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Getting closer, needs to be able to manage multiple accounts and put a little counter next to the alert icon when new tweets arrive. Also needs twitlonger or similar.
I´m not leaving uber till at least these features are implemented!

Posted by startrak140 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Is this available on the update. Didn't quite understand what they meant on the website. If someone could give me a yes or no. Thanks

Posted by mcdanielnc89 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Well... The only complaint I really have about twitter for blackberry is.... It always seems to have an error with the connection.. I deal with it, but it's annoying...

Posted by Username00089 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Edit retweets and friend picker! All I needed!!

Posted by tidebuzz Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Critical update for T4B. The only missing feature is multiple accounts (like everyone else has said).

I really don't like twitlonger. It takes away from what Twitter is, just short blips of info. Twitlonger is not necessary.

still .37 nothing new for ota yet

Beta Zone also .37 for now.

i wish they could have visible tabs like how ss does.

Posted by SlimGuy78 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Edit re-tweets =0)

Posted by nkauchak Wednesday, May 19, 2010 634 days ago

Well, this is great; I really like the Twitter client, but I wish RIM had the same tenacity with the Facebook application - an overhaul is WAY overdue.

Posted by mike340t Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

Totally agree with FB... minimum at least integrated chat with the option to shut off chat would be the most awesome addition (to conserve battery and reduce annoyance lol)...

Posted by Kiddo_24 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

RIM did drop an announcement back in early April that a Facebook update was on its way May 31st. Haven't heard much of anything since then. I hope its still true. . .

I love my twitter for blackberry. Though i don't really post feedback cause i just do basic tweeting. I really like it though. especially to see what is popular and stuff and to see tags.

Posted by russ0813 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

I gave up on T4BB but just downloaded the update gonna give it another try.

Posted by 1darrick Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

Go to the Blackberry Home Page from your device and download Twitter for Blackberry v 1.0.0.40

Loving the new features! However I would had loved if the old style RTs were available instead of "Quoting" also the ability to upload pics to services such as TweetPhoto / YFrog instead of just seeing the pics. Anyways I just deleted the Ubertwitter app. Loving this app so far.

Posted by BlackB_G Thursday, May 20, 2010 633 days ago

But it is the old style retweet mate. All u need to do is add RT at the beginning if u decide... same thing. Personally i wouldn't unless i wanted others to retweet it. Still shows the original tweeters @username and u can edit it b4 tweeting it.

Posted by r0cketman22 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

With the newly added features, this is now the best. The integration can't be beat.

I think they still have a ways to catch up to Uber.

Posted by boman06210 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

Now....how about a Facebook for BlackBerry update!?!?

Posted by russ0813 Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

Hey what does everybody set the settings in T4BB at?

Posted by rmcmann Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

Loving the new features. The new mentions by clicking @ and having the following list pop up is fantastic. Glad to know they listened when we suggested!

*Now, if they'd just fix Facebook.

Posted by Alpha Omega Wednesday, May 19, 2010 633 days ago

That's good there listening to feedback. I just hope they did the same for the Facebook app.
