Is it worth upgrading? I like 3.0.2.12

I noticed when switching accounts, the Profile screen appears instead of the Home Screen.

My App World isn't showing the new twitter yet.
Update: got it now. Still wasn't showing on the app. So I went to the web based app world instead.

Piece of advice... dont touch it. Myself and others reported 2 bugs that havent been fixed and been allowed to go unchecked in the official version. Seems to be effecting 7.1 users only though from what ive read in beta zone reports.
1) Uncaught exception: java.lang.error that happens after reboot. They ran a poll in beta zone and also admitted on a thread that it was a known issue and were working on a fix.
2). Social Feeds integration. The app no longer works with social feeds. Again reported in beta zone but they still went ahead and released 4.0
If anybody has an link to download 3.2 for Twitter please share it I'm desperate to revert back to 3.2 as I need to use social feeds for work.
Deleting Twitter fixes java.lang issue but I prefer the native app to ubertwitter and again I need social feeds integration for work so I am fuming!

Any idea if they fixed the massive delay in the app reporting @replies? This was my biggest issue with the beta. I never received the crash java.lang.error and I don't use social feeds.

I keep getting error for the 7.1 version :(
Nate650 Dec 19, 2012 at 3:13 pm
Thanks for the heads up. I experienced the "Uncaught exception" issue after reboot on my Bold 9930 with latest OS installed. I have since uninstalled the app.

I had same issue. Mine fixed now. Uninstall twitter. And reintall it. If still not working. I actually unintalled twitter, install uber, unintalled uber and re installed. Twitter. No errors and new twitter bb app works on social feeds. Bbmaster NV las vegas

Damn, should have read more before installing. Was hoping the uncaught exception was resolved. How can they do public release with that there??? Now, where is link for 3.2....
hakdaddy Dec 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm
Please let me know if you find one Graheem. I tried OTA for 3.2 but it took me back to 4.0 also no 3.2 downloads in beta zone anymore :-(

Octavian: Thanks for your help unfortunately the download didnt work on RROY's site I got a invalid COD error. Ubertwitter for me until they fix twitter. Social feeds is major loss for me, very unhappy right now. If anyone can provide an OTA link for 3.2 it would be really appreciated.

hakdaddy1, I'm on 9900 with 7.1 one, I tried the 7.1 version and it didn't work for me, so I tried the 7.0 version and it's working a-ok. No uncaught exception. I'm happy.
wickednoize Dec 18, 2012 at 4:04 pm
I have been using the beta version for few weeks now. It surely is a much faster and better experience than before. However, the @ replies notifications are very slow and sometimes don't even appear and yes the LISTs should have a easy icon to go to. Rest all good, like the new version.

Graheem: Any luck with the 7.0 OTA ?

This app is great. Goodbye Übersocial!

It is unacceptable and ridiculous that the mention bug from the last beta still resides in the public release! The app is faster, but the bug makes it pointless to have. I'm downgrading until they fix this.
Graheem Dec 18, 2012 at 8:07 pm
I agree, totally unacceptable. It also made it so my email wouldn't clear the notification of new unread mail. Very annoying.
Nate650 Dec 19, 2012 at 3:14 pm
Same here. Email notification did not clear in the browser.
hakdaddy Dec 18, 2012 at 8:25 pm
Thanks for the info Graheem, I tried what you suggested and its worked for me. Very annoyed with RIM though at a time when they need loyal users on there side they release an app they knew was riddled with bugs.

Agreed.

I've been running two beta versions and have never had any Uncaught exception: java.lang.error errors.
I stopped using social feeds a long time ago because it seemed to drain the battery. In addition I've never seen and upgrade for the application. Wouldn't be surprised if RIM drops support for it once BB10 comes out.
Twitter 4.0 has been solid for me so far.
Graheem Dec 19, 2012 at 12:38 pm
What device/OS?
Rootbrian Dec 19, 2012 at 5:41 am
I updated to it, but I'll give it a go soon. :D
...IT ROCKS!! ROCK SOLID!! :)
kennyiceberry Dec 20, 2012 at 5:16 am
THE GOOD [ish]: faster-speed; UI re-fresh; no sign of uncaught exception for me so far; THE BAD: all those people reporting uncaught exceptions suggests it's likely I won't escape for very long. THE UBER-[YES UBER] BAD: NO SOCIAL FEEDS INTEGRATION. I HAVE COME TO RELY ON THIS. ITS EXCLUSION LOOKS LIKE THE RESULT OF INCOMPETENCE RATHER THAN PURPOSEFUL OMISSION. Shades of pre-Heins RIM.
Rant over, calm down.
In the wider context, it's just one app, things at RIM are likely still going in the right direction; although this update could have been rolled-out better. Please provide a fix update soon, RIM.

Discovered by accident, the new native version of Twitter DOES in fact work with Social Feeds. However there appears to be some sort of 'plist'-type preference data issue involving the Set-Up app, and use of prior versions.
This 'solution' was mentioned above, but the poster mentioned it in a sort of round about way, so I give more direct instructions here.
Workaround --note it must be done in the following order.
First, log out of all accounts used on the Twitter app.
Second delete the Twitter app [any way you choose, direct from the icon or by deleting --not uninstalling, but definitely deleting it--in App World.]
Logging out of accounts and then deleting the app seems to delete the preference settings too.
[Using the file browser I tried to find a file which contained these settings, which if deleted, potentially could have avoided having to delete the app, but I failed.]
3. Next, re-install Twitter.
4. Using the Set-Up app --NOT DIRECTLY IN THE TWITTER APP--log into your default Twitter account. Et voila.
You should find that Social Feeds again contains all updates from your Twitter.
You can go ahead and add any further accounts as needed, they'll show up too.
Caution, it looks like if you for any reason have to reboot your device, you'll have to go through this rigmarole again.
This bug still needs fixing -- but hopefully BlackBerry 10 will have such great integration of Twitter, Social Feeds will be obsolete.
