Twitter is a "microblogging" social network that allows users to send short status updates that consist of up to 140 characters. Twitter was originally designed to work over SMS, so users could opt in to receiving Tweets from specific individuals. Official apps from Twitter are available for BlackBerry smartphones that allow users to send Tweets, upload photos, view their timeline, share location, and more. Twitter is integrated deeply into BlackBerry 10 so users can send and receive private direct messages in the BlackBerry Hub.
Twitter is a great resource as a multi-platform messaging tool, news service and much more. In addition to the official client, currently there are a handful of third-party Twitter apps available for BlackBerry like Blaq for the BlackBerry PlayBook and Neatly for BlackBerry 10.

The new version is 4.2.0.6 and brings along a few new features in addition to the usual tweaks and fixes. Today Twitter for BlackBerry 10 has received a small update bringing it to version 10.1.3.8. While there isn't anything new and fancy, it does include some tweaks and fixes to keep things running as they should. The update is listed as Bug fixes to address issues with profile banner uploading, and users being prompted to re-enter their credentials.

It's no secret that some top Twitter accounts haven't had the best of luck lately as big names like AP and even Burger King have been hit in the last few months. Today, Twitter upped their security however by finally adding in two-factor authentication for users.
For those that don't know, two-factor authentication is a security feature that requires users to enter a special code when logging in to a site. Typically the code is sent via SMS to a users phone and they then enter it as part of their login.

Both Twitter and Facebook received yet another update today for BlackBerry 10 devices. Both apps were off to an okay start and thankfully are being updated quite often to get them more up to par with other platforms. While they still don't pack all the features of their iOS or Android counterparts, they are definitely getting better and adding new features so that's a good sign.

If you own a BlackBerry Z10, you'll know the Twitter for BlackBerry 10 isn't up to par as with previous BlackBerry operating systems. I had never really used the T4BB much and swore by the Scope App. However, with Scope not available for BlackBerry 10, I had to look elsewhere. Thankfully there are options out there, one of which comes in the form of an app called Neatly.
While at BlackBerry Jam Europe 2013, James managed to sit down with the developer and get a quick demo of the app. Of course, we like to give you a full review so follow me after the break to see Neatly in action.

We've been waiting patiently for updates for some official apps for BlackBerry 10, and today we get a treat as both LinkedIn and Twitter have been updated for BlackBerry 10 devices. Both updates bring some new features that should make users very happy. I was hoping for a Facebook update to go along with them, but I guess that one's not quite ready yet. You should see the updates available in BlackBerry World within the next 24 hours, so if you aren't seeing them just yet, don't panic.

If you're a Twitter user patiently awaiting updates to Twitter for BlackBerry 10, now is your time to shine as the app has now been pushed into version 10.0.0.45. Sadly, there was no full change log added to the listing but having used it for a bit to see if I noticed any changes, it looks like 'pull to refresh' is now a bit more responsive. With an L-Series device in the hands of the folks over at Tinhte there has been plenty of hands-on time with BlackBerry 10 spread around. It's safe to say that what we're seeing is certainly not the shipping version of BlackBerry 10 but at the same time the most crucial parts are there and offer a good look at OS overall.
While we've seen the hardware images along with the hands-on video already, we're now being treated to some new images of the overall UI and some apps. Some of the stuff RIM has already showed off previously but you can tell its been updated since then and some of the stuff is entirely new.
