Touchscreen BlackBerry Thunder to pack Verizon Visual Voicemail?

BlackBerry Thunder will Pack Verizon Visual Voicemail

I'm not sure what internal document Engadget pulled the above image from, but it looks like futher confirmation that a) Verizon will be getting a touchscreen BlackBerry and b) that it's going to launch with Verizon Visual Voicemail (VVM). Rumor has it that VVM is coming in late July to early August and will cost $1.99 per month on top of your regular plan pricing.

The most interesting thing here? If the touchscreen BlackBerry is to be one of the "affected" devices by the launch of VVM, does that mean we'll see the BlackBerry Thunder hit Verizon this summer?!!

I doubt that you'll see the Thunder by this summer. If it truly is an internal document, they will want to ensure that all phones--released, soon to release, and being tested on the network--are checked out for the VVM. I wouldn't take too much stock in this as a pushed up release date for the Thunder.

What is all the fuss about a visual voice mail? I am however excited to see the touch screen blackberry. I better start saving my pennies now. I love my 8330 Curve although I would love the have the track ball that lights up like the pearl. Why didn't they put that feature on the Curve? Anyone?

I talked to Verizon and the Blackberry Thunder (touchscreen) is definitely coming out and soon. It's in testing mode now.

BG Please keep us posted as much as possible on the BB Thunder! I believe the Thunder will release sooner than most people think. Perhaps wihtin 30 days of the iPhone release. This way AT&T customers can still back out on the iPhone and join VZW for the BB Thunder. Afterall that's what its all about getting customer to switch networks. Maybe this is just wishful thinking but I'm pumped and holding out for the Thunder. The LG Dare is tempting and is supposed to be loaded with multimedia applications. But I'm a big RIM fan and if they are making a touchscreen phone, I'm sure it will be awesome.

RIM & VZW please hurry!!

In being a VZ customer, I went into the store yesterday, oucrchasing a 8330 Cure, and was told by the end of the year, the Thunder will be out. I know that is very vague, but it is in the testing phase now, and they usually test for 90 days and then release if all checks out. I'm excited about it myself.
