Ring Tones on BlackBerry 10
I enjoy logo games that come to BlackBerry 10 devices. They're the style of game which really tests how much you notice things and Colormania is one of those. A game suited for young and old, Colormania tests your knowledge of brand logos, characters, TV shows, celebrities and everyday things.
You are presented with a logo, animated character, everyday objects and more, all in plain form. Your task is to guess the correct color or colors that go with that icon from the selection given. It may sound easier than it seems but as the levels progress you'll slowly realize you may not be as knowledgeable as you think. Or maybe that's just me. It's a simple game but executed so well.
There is a short tutorial when you first load up the game but it's pretty straightforward. When you first start the game you have three lives. You also have some power-ups. A hammer, which eliminates wrong colors and a brush which reveals the correct color - you get two of each of these at the beginning. When these have run out you can purchase more via in-app purchasing. Prices depend on the bundle you choose to buy. When you run out of lives, the game is over. You then have the ability to get more lives by spinning a wheel. Depending on where the needle lands you can get 0-4 lives but you'll have to wait a certain number of minutes before this number becomes available. This wait time increases the more times you run out of lives. So, if you don't want to be waiting that long, you've got be to careful. You can be waiting up to hour (that's the maximum I've seen so far). Of course, you could just buy more lives if you don't want to wait. And if you think you can just close down the game and reopen to get the spinning wheel of lives, guess again. The countdown continues right from where it left off.
Colormania definitely has me gripped and does keep me wanting more, especially when I run out of lives and want to continue getting the answer right. With more than 200 icons spread over 20 levels, there a lot to keep you busy.
The sounds and graphics are pretty cool, especially when you select the correct color. There isn't anything that I can fault the game in, other than it can get very addictive but that's one of the reasons I love it so much.
It's free to download, so there is no reason for you not to give it a go. It's available for the Z10, Q10, Q5 and the PlayBook, so whatever BlackBerry 10 device you have you won't be missing out on all the fun.
