The Street Goes BlackBerry

-'s Gary Krakow took a bit of a beating in the blog post comments after we posted his BlackBerry Trackball Rant yesterday, so it's only fair we come back at you today with some positivity.... announcing the's new BlackBerry Application, featuring:

  • Categorized content sections such as Latest News, Jim Cramer, Winners & Losers, Analyst Upgrades & Downgrades, and more
  • Personalized stock watch lists -- where users can add or remove stocks to track daily performance
  • Quotes of the major indexes -- The Dow, Nasdaq, S&P -- and a quote search box for ticker price look-ups
  • Home-screen notification of new stories and updated content

Mobile technology leader Polar Mobile developed the application, which is available for download on a range of BlackBerry smartphones from Research In Motion. All in all the app seems pretty rock solid. Financial types and fans will definitely want to check it out. To download's mobile application for free, BlackBerry smartphone customers should visit on their handheld or through a Web browser and click on "Download Now."

I like watching the stock market like a hawk, this app beats the web browser hands down. Super fast and clean look! Nice App.

Can't download the app from my berry, I'm getting the page cannot be found error when I click on Install now.

The application is nice if it was limited to the stocks and information at the top and my stocks at the bottom.

But I don't need to have 30 articles sent to my bb everyday on top of all the Jim Cramer articles.

Im guessing this wont give indices information for the Toronto Stock exchange...

is the program similar to this for canadian markets

I installed the app, but it won't run on my Curve. Worth just about what I paid for it I guess.

This program is phenominal. For those of you trying to download it, it must be from the bb browser, not an "aftermarket" one like opera.

Really clean, no load time for articles, up to date market tracking...I'm a fan!!!

Thanks crackberry for just another wonderful program.

I was excited to see The Street application. Since owning my BB (2 months) I have primarily relied on the CNBC application I downloaded from the beginning. I just downloaded the TS application and from first glance it appears nice. I like ability to add/ track my own stocks. Rather than on CNBC where to get up to the minute quotes I had to enter each symbol.

Looks like a great application, especially if you follow the Market.

The software developer is Canadian.
The hardware company is Canadian.
Does the program support Canadian stock markets? Nope. Lame.
