ThermoBMeter

There are endless apps that show the weather on your BlackBerry, but how about the room temperature? With ThermoBMeter, your device will measure the current room temperature and display it as an icon on your device. A simple concept (and not something every BlackBerry user will need) this app has some great features. You can view the temperature as an icon and/or app title as well as view in Kelvin, Fahrenheit or Celsius. The app currently sells for $0.99 in the CrackBerry App Store, but we have 75 copies to give away. Just leave a single comment on this post to enter. Contest ends this Sunday at midnight PDT.

To start with, I really don't need such an application.

Secondly, to the best of my knowledge, my BB does not have a built in temperature sensor. So there really is no way for it to detect or display room temperature.
I'm really hoping CB is not left with egg on its face for running a contest for a dud application!

this is a good app. i am always curious about the difference in temperature between downstairs and upstairs in my home

you actually provided space on your website for this? How can a Blackberry possibly measure ambient temperature? It's not possible. Use a little common sense people.

Now I will know how hot it really is for the kid/dog in the car in July with the windows rolled and the car off.....joking. Must have temp sensor built in, much like my VX-3. Anyway. Thanks again for the chance to win.

how exactly would it work? is there something in our blackberries that would act as a thermometer? I missed this memo :(

but if there is, I'd like to give it a go :D

I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!!......................I WANT ONE!!.................................I WANT ONE!! I WANT ONE!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS

Would be interesting but kind of surprised the other stuff needed is already in phone, and why it would be? Is this a late april fools thing?

But I would love a copy if it does work. I work with testing computer equipment so the temperature of the lab would come in handy

From the first moment when i found out my bberry had an internal thermometer, I thought they should make an app that can tell you the room temperature. Well here it is! Schweet. I'd love a free copy because when trying to order it with paypal, they apparently INSIST that i have a credit card linked to my paypal account and I do not. So that sucks.

it's gettin hot in here
so take off all your clothes
i am gettin so hot wanna take my clothes off

Ok, where do they get the room temperature from? - There isn't a thermal sensor in the Storm, that I know of. That's pretty neat!

This would be awesome for my Server Room. I hate having to walk all the way to the other side to check the temp in the room. My Intel servers are very sensitive to temp changes.

I own my own small coffee company and roast coffee in a warehouse, in order to keep costs down, I keep the thermostat at 68 degrees. Although my staff complain at times, I tell them to wear layers, I have even gotten them all some logo sweatshirts and hats to help. Would be great to know what the real ambient temp was so I can control the heat better

Well, we can try again for a free copy. I dis-like asking for free< but it would be cool to win one from the site... Very helpful! and the site as well! Much respect crackberry.com

I work in a plastics factory, and I'd love to be able to whip out my Berry and be able to tell how frickin hot it is in there!!!!

I work with a bunch of guys who swear by the Iphone. I don't know of there is an app for that, but i would love to show them what my blackberry storm2 can do. Hook me up please

Way cool - won't know how cool until I get it!
Curious to know how it works without being affected by the battery temp?

I find this app *awfully* suspicious - like snake oil or ocean-front property in Kansas. Do Blackberry devices even have the *hardware* to support this sort of app? And if so, how is it that so few people know about it, especially considering how long Blackberries have been around? I know I've not heard of a thermometer built into a Blackberry...

hello,
im a proud blackberry curve user. I just got my blackberry like 3 months ago and i love it!
th eonly bad thing is its a work phone and they dont allow me to buy apps.=( so the only apps i have are FREE apps.
im a elelctrican by trade and this app would help me out Tons!
thanx

This is got to be one of the coolest apps to day!!

Please pick me!!

Thank you for the chance to win!!

...as the "pet rock", the "snuggie", and snake oil.
no blackberry has a thermometer to read external temperature. they do have an internal temperature gauge to prevent overheating...but for such a small device, there's really no way to isolate the heat generated as a byproduct of the electrical components from a reading of external temperature, without some peripheral probe.
shame on you, cb, for putting this as front-page news. i hope anyone that buys it tries to use it as a rectal thermometer.

I have had this app for a week now, and not once has it given a accurate reading. It is consistently 10 degrees or so off. Will not tell you ambient room temperature. That's a fact.

I would LOVE this. Then I could prove what the temperature in the office REALLY is! This would be THE app to have to rule the theromstat! Please choose me!

This App will help me daily with my job. I work in a television truck were we have to keep it chilly. This will help me show off the temp to high end clients. Thanks

I have a feeling that this is a very "HOT" app. I just don't know how hot. But it would be so "COOL" to be able to find out.
