TheBirthdayApp
Everyone forgets something now and then, and a commonly forgotten event is the birthday. Whether it's that new client you just got, your child's teacher, or the neighbor down the street a forgotten birthday can really put a damper on a relationship. There are different ways to help remember birthdays, but most involve entering the names and days manually. A new BlackBerry app I found that I'm excited about is called TheBirthdayApp. Designed by Gyubok Baik, TheBirthdayApp is free and works with your BlackBerry contacts to remind you of upcoming birthdays. That means you don't have to re-enter the information into the app!

TheBirthdayApp is very simple to use and requires almost no set up. Download and install the app, open it and specify how far in advance you want to be notified of upcoming birthdays. With 6 different options ranging from 1 day to 1 month ahead of time, you're sure to find a time frame that works for you. You can even designate the time of day you want the notification to appear. That's it for set up! Close the app and you're done. TheBirthdayApp identifies birthdays from your address book entries, and notifies you with a pop up on your screen on the day and time you set. Unlike other reminder applications, TheBirthdayApp does not continuously run in the background, so you don't have to worry about your battery feeling the effects of it.

TheBirthdayApp is supported on OS 4.5, 5.0, and 6 for all BlackBerry devices and is completely FREE! Download it today from the link below, and never miss a birthday again.

"We are sorry, but this product is not available in our catalog anymore. We are sorry for the inconvenience" in the CB store. and "Unknown Error" in App World. :( First.

You're right, it's not in the CB store anymore, so I removed that link. Thanks! I was still able to download it from App World though, and it's actually been updated since I originally downloaded it.

Thanks. AppWorld and I have been in a dysfunctional relationship for a minute now. It's okay. We tolerate each other. :)

the reviews on this seem very mixed. its either 5 star or 0... seems like a neat little app.

Hmmm... this is better than the "Birthday" and "Anniversary" section in the Contact app how?

It's a cool app but I downloaded ThinkOfMe for BlackBerry the other day. It also works off your address book but can also handle anniversaries and additional birthdays you can add to the user fields. Also the reminder functionality is pretty cool.

Ummm....Facebook has been doing this for 2 years.

Im not even sure how this works? Doesn't Blackberry automatically insert an alarm in the calendar for any birthday added to a contact? Whats the point?
