Texas Hold'em King updated with NFC & BBM support for private tables

Magmic has been busy over the past little while updating Texas Hold'em King with new feature additions and for BlackBlackBerry Live they really wanted to have something special available. The latest update rolling out pushes the version number into 1.1 and adds the ability to create a private table and connect your BlackBerry Z10 or BlackBerry Q10 contacts through BBM or NFC.

Tables created will remain private for 10 minutes while you play to give a window of time for your friends to get into the game. Just bump devices for NFC or invite over BBM and you're good to go. There is a bit of criteria in order for it all to work though and that is that you need 100,000 in chips available. That's a higher level of entry for some folks but if you fall into that area, it's a pretty sweet addition to the game.

Cool....one of the 'first' games to implement nfc

We'll follow up soon with a CrackBerry demo on this one. It's really, really slick how the implementation works. Highly recommend!

Can hardly wait for this!

Excellent game and a huge improvement over the one on the Bold 9930. The main issue for me is the betting method; the slider is way too sensitive which results in too many misfires. They should simply add a virtual number pad to reduce errors, or at the least a "Confirm?" prompt.

I kindly agree with that. Like a slide to bet but a tap to confirm.

One of my fav games from the bold. Private groups with bbm sounds amazing, just like the old days.

Don't like it when it keep turning on your nfc when you start the game each time

NFC doesn't drain your battery unless your are connected with it to stream content like music via Blutooth. Just leave it on for when you need it..
