But after reading some of the concerns out there I decided to call Verizon, and they outright stated that using TetherBerry was against their TOS, and that I would be charged with all Data usage on my device if I were to us this application or any other like it for tethering.

For those of you out there thinking about it, or are using it, please be careful or you might get a very large bill from your provider

@Lobout: I also have Verizon. I own and use tetherberry, and I've never had any problems. I've never received a larger bill than my normal phone+data plan bill. Yeah, if you call Verizon and tell them what you're doing, they'll probably be all over you, but here's the magic secret to making it work: don't call Verizon, and just use the program.

I hope this new version improves the mac speed. It's virtually unusable in it's current state.

Why do you guys want to use tetherberry???!!!!!????

Using the Modem script works much better and faster.

You can just keep the modem scripts on your email account or a thumbdrive or dropbox. Load the script for the BB you want to use and you are good to go. And not need to bring the stupid usb cable along. Why in the world would you want to use the usb cable when you can have your phone in your pocket or bag on your back and have your laptop in your hand without a cable

DONT use TETHERBERRY. Use the FREE modem scripts over BT!!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone is unsure of how to do this or wants a specific modem script for a BB model PM me. But dont use TETHERBERRY Waste of time!!!!!! and MONEY

I agree- I like using the BT tethering, but I find it much slower than USB tethering on a PC. It takes forever to tether by BT. I wish it would work using USB. Plus I kind of like that having the USB pluged in charges it.

If you wouldn't mind sending me your scripts though I'll try then...maybe it would work better then the ones I'm using!

If it's ok, could you PM the scripts too please.

Using a Bold & a curve if it matters.

Thanks!

Rayford is 100% correct, i use the BT Modem Scripts as well on my macbook pro unibody and i couldnt be any happier, with full 3G on my bold and tethering over bluetooth it feels like a land line almost, extremely fast. I leave my phone on my belt clip and will be surfing the web right in central park.

it does appear to be considerable faster than the original version. May be a keeper

I pay for tethering so I'm not worried about it really, but I was just curious what the providers stance was on an application like this. I'm glad that you are using it and have not seen an increase in your bill, I just wanted to warn people that they MIGHT get hit hard if for some reason Verizon suspects that they are using a program like this. Then again, i guess as long as you keep under their 5GB limit, they probably won't question it at all.

I'm on Rogers Canada- and they allow tethering for free, which is awesome. But I have 6gigs of Data and if I use 80% of it I get a text message, and then another one when I hit 100%. I tether an awful lot- or at least I used to when I was on the train all the time, and have never gotten a text saying I've used 80% of my data. I think as long as you don't use it as your main internet source and just use it instead of paying for hotspots you're fine.

Couldn't get it to work with the first Beta released. Maybe this one will fix it, which would be particularly convenient right now with no Internet connection in my house.

I'm a bit confused. Is using modem scripts not considered Tethering? If so, then some networks (like Telus for example) charge a fee for that and the data is "seen" as tethered data.

Isn't one of the benefits to this software is that it "tricks" your computer into using the data plan of your device (hopefully unlimited) and it doesn't appear as a separate, chargeable service?
