Now that is good news! i think Playbook is coming sooner than the April 10th rumour/fact!

Maybe or the April 10th date is for the United States and Canada will get it earlier. So perhaps for once Canada will get something first.

How does Apple take over your PC?

A small example: After installing iTunes and or QuickTime no matter how many times you disable on windows start up the qtask.exe, or whatever it is, it always comes back. Again, it is a small example. We will make sure you don't "break it" whether you like it or not.

It worked for me and it never starts up after a reboot but only if I manually open it or if I coonect an apple product to my PC. Don't remember how I did but it worked. I think I did it through the msconfig screen.

you are probably correct about it not coming back until you start up iTunes or QuickTime or connect an iPod/iPhone... It is just frustrating that once you do start an Apple program etc. it then resets it to start with boot up once again. At least that has been my experience. Maybe I need some aggressive boot utility to strips everything back to the basics each boot hahaha... I don't know...

It installs a system service (mdns/bonjour). Note that iTunes works perfectly well to manage your music if you disable this service. I think there's a second service as well, but I can't recall the specifics offhand.

It also installs either one or two run-on-login processes. Again if you disable them, iTunes continues to work perfectly fine for managing music. ( One of these checks for updates on a schedule - something that could be done with windows task scheduler, *without* requiring yet another always running process. )

Most offensively, it automatically associates all music and video content to the quicktime plugin, which it requires you to install.

Every time you update it, if you have changed/disabled any of the above, it reverts it so that you have to go through it all again.

Really dude? You can't wait a week, or even a month? You're just going to expire if you don't get a tablet Right Now?

What is the usual lag time between these events at Telus and a new device?

Posted by soulwolf Tuesday, Mar 08, 2011 445 days ago

I'm really getting sick an tired of these "events" just give us the hard facts. like idk a real release date. Just get on with the darn thing, teasing never gets me excited (as far as releasing products not the other thing). It's gotten so bad i spent the cash i saved up on a new TV doesn't help my 8yr old one died finally. either way they need to nut up and say some concrete.

Well I guess that means it will have a 9 or 10 day window to be released from the event to make the Q1 deadline. Here is to hoping.

I keep thinking any day/hour now I will go onto CrackBerry and see the big news. That is date available and price. :)

I know this is completely off topic but I can't seem to access the forums through my Torch. I keep getting an error message saying "There isn't enough network coverage to process your request. Please try again later" for the whole day. My wifi and 3G coverage are fine and to confirm that I tried different websites including CB and they all worked fine. Is this a known issue? If not then this is why I'm addressing this here. Sorry for going off topic here, just couldn't find any other place appropriate enough to put this.

Lol. Oddly enough my Torch was doing this last night. I had full coverage and was definitely getting 3G and Wifi. I just did a battery pull and it kicked everything back to normal. Tried that yet?
