Virgin Mobile looks to be launching a new trade-in program in Canada starting January 29th. Through the program you'll be able to trade in any exisiting phone as long as it meets certain criteria such as turning on, being functional and having a working battery. There will be an online trade-in tool available that will let you estimate the value of the device and you can then take it to a retail store to receive credit towards a new phone or accessories. What better way to work up credit towards that new BlackBerry 10 phone, right?

Virgin Mobile is the latest carrier in Canada to open up their pre-registration page for BlackBerry 10. While signing up doesn't guarantee you a device, you will be entered to win 1 of 4 BlackBerry 10 phones. You'll get email updates with news and info leading up to the release date and be able to stay in the know along the way. If you're a Virgin Mobile customer, it's worth registering just for the chance to win a free device. You can check out more at Virgin Mobile from the link below. Thanks quicksilv3r

Virgin Mobile Canada releasing the BlackBerry Curve 9320 June 4th

Every time we post anything about the BlackBerry Curve 9320, there always seems to be a few people asking whether or not it will be coming to North America at some point. The device itself was always noted as being a device for emerging markets but Virgin Mobile Canada is going to change that thought a little come June 4th. That's when they will make the BlackBerry Curve 9320 available in Canada according to some leaked documentation plus, word has it you'll be able to pick it up for a cool $150. Not bad for an entry level BlackBerry, all things considered.

Virgin Mobile Canada releasing BlackBerry 7.1 for the Curve 9360 Feb. 23rd

If you have a BlackBerry Curve 9360 Virgin Mobile Canada, you'll want to keep an eye out for system updates come Feb. 23rd. According to the documentation above, Virgin Mobile Canada will be rolling out BlackBerry 7.1 to its customer base. No mention of what version it will be upon release but OS 7.1.0.258 has leaked already so if you're impatient, you can go ahead and load that up or you can just hit that software update button tomorrow.

Note: Bell, who owns Virgin Mobile Canada has already released v7.1.0.219 for the 9360 so Virgin will likely release the same.

I think most of us have our list of favorite holiday movies we like to watch each year - Elf, Love Actually, Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, etc. And call me a cell phone junky, but I also have my list of favorite holiday commercials/videos from mobile companies I find myself watching each year as Christmas approaches. The year after year winner on this one has historically been Virgin Mobile, though I haven't come across a new one by them for 2011. Not a big deal though, as the Seasons Greetings from Mrs. Claus skit they did up a few years ago is hard to beat (watch it above - language warning).

T-Mobile did step it up this year with their Home for the Holidays skit, which you can watch below along with a few other mobile holiday gems. If you come across any other new ones this year, be sure to toss the link in the comments. Enjoy the show!

The Bold 9790 is carrying a 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard and is a great alternative for those not wanting the larger Bold 9900.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 heading to Virgin Mobile

It looks like the BlackBerry Bold 9790 may be heading to Virgin Mobile Canada sometime in the very near future. We already know that the device will be hitting Telus soon (and most likely Rogers and Bell as well) so add this one to the list. No official word on pricing or a release date just yet, but we can expect it to be in line with the early December arrivals of other carriers. The Bold 9790 is sporting a full QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen display, 5MP camera and 1GHz processor.

Well, it seems that .291 fever has stuck again! This time, with not one, but three carriers around the world officially releasing OS 7.0.0.261 for the BlackBerry Torch 9810. In India, Redington has released the Asian languages version of the OS; and Canadian providers Sasktel and Virgin Mobile Canada both pushing the All Languages version to Official status.

If you like the latest and greatest in BlackBerry OS' but hate the hit-or-miss difficulties involved with the leaked versions, you might want to give this one a look. Unless one of these companies is your wireless provider, you'll need to delete the vendor.xml file before installing to your phone.
Virgin Mobile Canada pricing for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 emerges

Looking to score a better deal on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 or BlackBerry Torch 9810 by opting to buy one from Virgin Mobile? You may be in luck when it comes to the pricing over, that is -- when compared to Rogers. The verdict is still out on Virgins parent company, Bell. Here is what you'll be looking at if you opt to purchase from Virgin Mobile:

BlackBerry Bold 9900:

No-contract price: $599.99

3-year contract/SuperTab: $169.99

BlackBerry Torch 9810:

No-contract price: $599.99

3-year contract/SuperTab: $149.99

More expensive for the no-contract terms but if you're going to be rolling a new 3-year contract, you'll get off $50 cheaper when grabbing the Torch 9810 and $70 cheaper if the Bold 9900 is more your bag. Oh right, Virgin Mobile also has their dummy units ready as well.

Virgin Mobile has confirmed their new pricing plans (which are still some of the cheapest among BlackBerry plans) and will be dropping the monthly fee for BlackBerry users. The new plans change things up a bit, but those who use the carrier's BlackBerry service will be happy to know the $10 monthly fee will be no more. The new plans feature a 300 minute plan for $35, 1200 minute plan for $45 and unlimited plan for $55. As before, all plans still include unlimited data, text and web. So if you are a Virgin Mobile customer - what say you about the new plans? Drop a comment and let us know!

BlackBerry Bold 9900 heading to Virgin Mobile Canada

It looks like the BlackBerry Bold 9900 can add one more carrier to the "coming soon" list. Confirmed in Tweet form yesterday, Virgin Mobile Canada said the device will be coming "super soon". Their soon and our soon are most likely two different things, but still a good sign that the device may be nearing an official release date. We first saw the Bold 9900 announced at BlackBerry World back in May but have yet to lock down a release just yet.

Right on time. Bell and Virgin Mobile Canada now have available the red BlackBerry Torch 9800 for those of you out there too cool for black or white. We caught wind of Bell's release date a while back now but glad to see they actually kept schedule. No changes on price points for either of the two carriers, so you'll be looking at $599.95 no contract or go as low as you can with a new 3-year and pick one up for $179.95. Now, where is the BlackBerry Style 9670?

We've known for quite some time now that Virgin Mobile was all geared up to release the BlackBerry Bold 9780 at some point. While the exact date still evades us, Best Buy has once again posted up devices even before the carriers and this time they've also outted something that was rumored but never really confirmed. As you can tell from the above pic, Virgin Mobile will be releasing the BlackBerry Bold 9780 in white whenever they decide to actually make it available and looks like it will be unbranded as well just like the Bell version (no carrier logo). Pricing falls in line with the rest of the carriers when it comes to no contract pricing ($499.99) but using their SuperTab option you can get the BlackBerry Bold 9780 for $129.99. Thanks Borna!

Virgin Mobile holiday line up confirms BlackBerry Bold 9780 launch date and pricing

We've seen this date and pricing before but now, seeing the ad puts a little bit more confirmation into it. Virgin Mobile in Canada will be releasing the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on October 21st, in time for the holidays. Price will be set at $149.99 on contract or with Virgins Supertab offerings and will also be available in white according to the ad. Of course, we're overlooking the fact the ad also shows the BlackBerry Bold 9780 as a BlackBerry Bold 9650 but, it's certainly not the first legit piece of material we've seen with errors on it. If that fact causes you some concern I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Still no word from TELUS, Bell or Rogers on the device though. But we've been advised that Rogers inventory on Bold 9700's has been low for a few weeks now, if not longer.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 set to arrive on Virgin Mobile October 21st?

If the advertising material is to be believed it would seem as though the BlackBerry Bold 9780 will soon be arriving on Virgin Mobile. The image above, leaked out earlier today and shows the BlackBerry 9780 marked as a refresh. Information indicates a release date of October 21st with pricing set at $149 on contract and $549 off contract. Since Virgin Mobile has added the BlackBerry Bold 9700 to their EOL list it does make sense. I really can't see Virgin Mobile being the only carrier at that time to launch the device. Keep in mind though, this date has been mentioned many times before when speaking of launch dates for the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on quite a few carriers including Rogers and TELUS.

As all the major carriers in Canada get set to release the BlackBerry Torch on September 24th, Best Buy is wasting no time in letting customers know they can be among the first to put the device in their hands. The pre ordering page has now gone up on the website, although you do still need to visit a Best Buy Mobile location to process the preorder. Oh ya, bring $50 with you as well as that's the preorder cost.

While it would have been way easier on the bloggers of the world if Canada just let out a single press release that the BlackBerry Torch was coming to "a bunch of carriers at once", the announcements trickled out one after the other yesterday. The next in line to get the device on the grand September 24th launch date is Virgin Mobile Canada. They dropped the announcement via their Twitter page today and will be joining the party as well. No additional info was provided but "deets coming very soon". Thanks Ally!

Virgin Mobile to Offer Curve 8530 and new Beyond Talk Plans

Virgin Mobile announced today that they will be introducing new "Beyond Talk" plans and are soon to be carrying the BlackBerry Curve 8530. The device will be priced at $299.99 and available directly from the carriers website. The new Beyond Talk plans all include unlimited messaging, email, data and web.

The revolutionary $25 plan is the industry's lowest price point for unlimited messaging, email, data and web with 300 minutes of voice per month, ideal for high-end device users seeking an unbeatable price to enable the text and data services they need.

The $40 plan includes unlimited messaging, email, data and web with 1,200 minutes of voice per month -- the perfect value for those seeking an affordable plan with everything they need.

The $60 plan includes unlimited messaging, email, data and web with unlimited voice to offer great value for high-end smartphone users expecting an unlimited plan to cost much more.

Bundled with the new device, Virgin Mobile customers can add BlackBerry service for just $10 more - meaning you can run a Curve 8530 with Virigin Mobile for about $35/month on the lowest plan (after the initial investment). Not a bad deal at all considering most data/voice plans start around $65 on other carriers. Hit the jump for the full release, and be sure to check out virginmobileusa.com for more.

We here at CrackBerry love Virgin mobile. Ok, ok - maybe that's a slight bit over exaggerated - we actually love the ad's they have put out in the past. But here is some BlackBerry news to get excited over - if you are a Virgin mobile Canada user. As reported by MobileSyrup, they will be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Curve 8530 sometime in the near future.

Given that they are set to launch HSDPA in February, it's safe to assume that is when the BlackBerry Bold 9700 will show up, but since the BlackBerry Cuirve 8530 is CDMA that could drop at any moment. In all fairness, coming with that HSDPA launch will be the iPhone as well so add Virgin mobile to the list of carriers in Canada for that. All this information was posted on the Virgin website, but appears to have since been removed.
