Earlier this month, Bellshare let us know that they had released BeWeather 10 for BlackBerry 10 smartphones. Aside from looking beautiful on device, the app also offers up current conditions, temperature, daily & hourly forecasts, alerts and more. Initially, the app was priced at $5.99 then saw a drop to $4.99. But just in case that wasn't enough to convince you to give it a go, there is now a free ad-supported limited feature version available for download in BlackBerry World. You're not really missing a whole lot in this version but should you want the missing features, you can always upgrade.

I won't lie - I'm a big fan of weather apps. My grandafther always had a Farmers Almanac on hand and my father has more home weather stations than he knows what to do with, so I guess it's just in my blood. That being said, I was super excited to see BeWeather available now for BlackBerry 10. BeWeather 10 brings the best of BeWeather to BlackBerry 10, including current conditions, temperature, daily & hourly forecasts, alerts and more. If you're at all a weather nut, there is no other way to go.

Fans of the app BeWeather by Bellshare will be pleased to know that the paid version has received an update today, bringing it to v2.7.12. This update might not interest some of you, but for those that use BBM, you will be find that BeWeather is now BBM connected. You can set your BBM status to the current weather, post your current weather to your BBM profile, and send a weather location to your BBM contacts. I can see several situations where these options might come in handy, for example if you are expecting visitors from out of town and want them to see at a glance what your current weather conditions are.

The updated version also brings easier license key retrieval and license transfer from within the app as well as the usual bug fixes. As far as we can tell at this time, the update is only available for the paid version of the app which will set you back $9.99. If that's a little rich for your blood, you can download the free version (which works just as great, the only difference is it has fewer features) or wait for Bellshare to have another sale, which they do pretty often.

Everyone's favorite weather app BeWeather has gotten a small but highly important update this week. This latest version brings the app up to v2.6.22 and with it a fix for one of the most complained about issues on BlackBerry smartphones - memory leak.

Update includes:

• Fixed potential memory leak
• Improved current location detection

While this isn't a major update for most, it has the possibility of being one for anyone who thinks they may have been experiencing a potential memory leak while having BeWeather on their device.

I've been a BeWeather user for so long yet it still remains one of my faves and the most recommended by me to friends. This update is only for the BeWeather app running on your BlackBerry smartphones, not the HD PlayBook version.

One of the bad things about being a procrastinator and putting off doing this post: some of my most used apps have already been covered. The folks at Bellshare let me know their insanely popular weather application BerryWeather has been updated to version 2.1.40 and is now out of public beta and officially available. A lot of key differences came with the 2.1 version as it's a re-write of the original code which will perform better across all BlackBerry devices, while taking nothing from the BerryWeather that so many have come to love.
