With the BlackBerry 10 launch event happening on January 30th, it was only a matter of time before the FCC got their hands on some BlackBerry 10 devices for approval. In total, RIM appears to of have submitted three or four devices for testing but only one of them has had its cover fully blown. The RFF91LW as it is known in the documentation is packing AT&T / Rogers compatible GSM and LTE bands along with some international GSM operator solutions.
BlackBerry Z10 and QWERTY N-Series pose together with a special guest

Earlier today we saw a great shot of the BlackBerry N-Series QWERTY device, and now an image has shown up that features not only the N-Series (rumored to be called the BlackBerry X10) and BlackBerry Z10 side-by-side, but also a white QWERTY device that could be another N-Series or quite possibly the BlackBerry Dev Alpha C. We'll do some recon to see what we can find out about this one, but we do know that we haven't seen anything like it before until now. The spaced out keyboard reminds us of old Curve devices quite a bit. More on this soon.

With the rumors today of the first BlackBerry 10 device being named the BlackBerry Z10, we thought it would be a bit of fun to see what else in the world sports the same awesome tag. The BlackBerry Z10 will be joining a quality stable of other cool products including attack helicopters, cameras, sports cars, speakers and more. I personally think that Z10 is a pretty badass name (I'm partial to the letter Z) and yes it's ZEE 10, not ZED 10 in my book. Keep reading and check out a list of TEN other great Z10s in the world.

BlackBerry L-Series to be named the BlackBerry Z10 at launch?

Sure looks that way according to a new image posted over at Unwired View courtesy of @evleaks, who just so happens to have a pretty solid track record of info in the Android world. As you can see, the image also shows off the white version of what has better been known as the BlackBerry 10 L-Series line for the past few months. As noted by evleaks:

According to the marketing material pictured below, obtained by a reliable source, RIM is jettisoning the traditional four-digit model numbers in favor of a shorter, catchier nomenclature; the full-touch device, currently known by its “L-series” designation, should come to market as the BlackBerry Z10, in both black and white.

The jury among us CrackBerry writers is still out on whether or not we like the name but what do you all think of it? Sound off in the comments below and let us know.

As we get closer to the BlackBerry 10 launch, we are seeing the BlackBerry 10 L-series device make more and more camera appearances, the most recent being two days ago. We see it line up next to a Samsung Galaxy Note, Nokia Lumia 820 and an iPhone 5.

Although they're not the greatest pics visually, they're still mighty pretty to look at. Yes, the BlackBerry 10 L-Series device has leaked yet again and this time around, there is very little left to the imagination. Like previous leaks, there is no telling how old the images are but given the device is showing the new BlackBerry 10 icons on there it's safe to say they are indeed fairly recent. Especially with the voice control now in place. If you're looking for more, jump below to have a look at the whole set. As always, sound off in the comments or in the CrackBerry forums thread with your thoughts on the images.

We've seen plenty of the BlackBerry L-Series already but there hasn't been really any size comparisons done. Luckily, a new image has now turned up and we get to see the L-Series sized up next to Apple's iPhone 5. As you can tell, the L-Series does have a somewhat larger footprint all around including the slighty larger display size. Depending on your tastes, that may be a good thing or a bad thing. Personally, I see it as a good thing.

The other obvious item here is the fact the iPhone 5 still has that homescreen button in place. Unlike BlackBerry 10 which makes heavy use of bezel gestures, the iPhone 5 doesn't make use of system-wide multitouch gestures for navigation, the settings are actually hidden from users. Plus, due to how iOS handles multitasking, the homescreen button has to remain there until Apple either changes how multitasking is done or fully enables multitouch support.

I much prefer the buttonless look myself, it just looks more modern to me. But, I can also understand the need for it. Needless to say, we'll do a real comparison once BlackBerry 10 devices become available. How do you all feel about there being no buttons on the front of the L-Series? Love it or hate it? Wish it had one? Sound off in the comments.

Here's another BlackBerry L-Series image to remind us it's not yet Q1 2013

At this point, I'm sure everyone knows what the BlackBerry L-Series devices look like. They've leaked so many times now that RIM could change the name to the BlackBerry Sieve and no one would question it. Kidding of course but that fact has sparked many a conversations about the device itself.

With BlackBerry 10 going out to more than 50 carriers now for testing, we'll soon be able to put to end the debates over whether or not this is the final hardware that will end up in customers hands or if RIM has just been playing a shell game with everyone.

Also N-Series devices, they'll be getting into more hands and that likely means we'll start to see it pop up again and I know many are waiting get a closer look at those.
BlackBerry 10 L-Series spotted once again in all its blurry cam glory

*UPDATE* - Some better images can also be found in the CrackBerry Forums - Thanks, ad19!

At this point, I'm not sure it's much of a surprise to anyone out there to say that the BlackBerry 10 L-Series has once again appeared in some new images -- probably not even RIM. But alas, it's happened once again or at least it looks that way.

It's hard to tell given the fact the latest set posted up over at BerryReview has a gel-skin case on it but if nothing else, the device in the images is running a full-fledged version of BlackBerry 10 on it not unlike the ones we saw RIM employees using at BlackBerry Jam Americas on the Dev Alpha B.

In the photos, you can see a few apps shown off. Just like before, we can see YouTube, Skydrive, Box, Dropbox, Compass, File Manager, Voice Control, Newsstand, Maps, NFC smart tags and even the oddly named Print To Go. You can jump below to see one more shot of the device. Dev Alpha B or L-Series? Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Did I say we'd do a podcast every two weeks in 2012? I guess I meant every two months. That's how long a gap we had between CrackBerry Podcast 90 and 91 (excluding our audio-only, on location podcast at BBJAM of course!). Suffice to say, I felt we were a bit rusty going into this one.

With the long hiatus we had to make this one extra special, so we went for a FULL HOUSE. On this show we have Adam, Bla1ze, Craig, Chris Umi, Kevin (that's me), and filling up the sixth seat, iMore's Rene Ritchie. We had no shortage of BlackBerry topics to cover this show, but with the iPhone 5 now out on the market we figured it made sense to bring Rene on. He did a stellar job of staying calm, cool and collected as I began ranting through my list of things that drive me nuts about the iPhone 5. I also went on a solid Android rant on this one.

I don't know what they're saying (my Spanish is bad) but it sure looks like it... that's not a Dev Alpha A or B... looks like Mexico has turned up a legit BlackBerry 10 L-Series phone on video. Or maybe that's a Dev Alpha C? Lol.. which happens to look a lot like this. ;)

Update: Reading through the comments to this post, it looks and sounds like a standard BB10 walk through like the many we've seen to date. Just in this case that's not the standard Dev Alpha hardware we're used to seeing. No mention is made of the hardware itself.

Leaked internal marketing video containing BlackBerry 10 L & N series phones appears online... first look at BB10 w/ keyboard!

* Update: Video removed. *

We've all been waiting to see it, and today a video surfaced online which gives us a pretty proper look at both BlackBerry L Series and N series devices. The L Series is the full touchscreen which we already have a pretty good understanding of (see this hot video render). As for the N series, this is the first time we've been able to get a good visual of what the long-awaited BlackBerry 10 phone with a full qwerty keyboard will look like.

As we saw when CrackBerry leaked the first photo of a BlackBerry 10 phone in January, it looks like this video is coming from creative that was produced for internal use only (marketing agency pitches). There's a lot of photo chopped looking stuff in here, but it's looking pretty legit based on other leaks we have seen to date.

As for the source of the video, it's looking like this may be the dumbest leak of all time. It appears the video was posted online to vimeo by a guy named Rob Jury, who appears to be the guy who edited the video. Ouch.

We've pulled a few screen caps from the video which you see below. Be sure to check out the video and photos, drool, and sound off in the comments!

BlackBerry 10 L-Series gets a early hands-on teardown

We've not yet seen the RIM's latest devices get an official announcement yet, despite that fact we're now getting a look at some of the devices internals thanks to a purported early hands-on teardown. The device being tore down, is no doubt that same as the devices we've seen in previous images and videos and to go along with it, there is some commentary from those who tore it down over at BisVN though, some of the info is a bit off from what we know already:

Full capacitive touch-screen, we were informed that the keyboard version would most likely come out a month after.

Dual core processor with an pristine IPS display

Two colors: white + black. The white looks awesome, way better than the iPhone 5 which I am currently testing.

Front camera with video chat feature like team view. Besides being able to see each other through the front camera, it can also show the screen of the person you are talking too.

Camera with auto-focus can take pictures at the speed of 1shot/second, then you can choose the best one.

Time view function. For 1 picture, it could save up to 10 facial expressions of any person, they you can scroll back and forth to view and choose the best one.

Overall, there isn't anything surprising in the commentary of the teardown but as noted in CrackBerry forums, they'll be updating with more information shortly. For now, you can jump below to see some more images of the device toredown.

L-Series render lets us envision the first BlackBerry 10 device in black and white

We've seen plenty of blurry and not so blurry images of RIM's BlackBerry L-Series device over the past little while and now, you can take a look at a rendered image of what the device will look like in not only black but white as well. Personally, I'll be taking one of each but what color will you be rolling with? Black, white or hold off for another color?

BlackBerry L-Series appears on camera once again, looking mighty fine

We've seen some BlackBerry L-Series leaks in the past but a new set of images are now making their rounds. Like the other leaks, it's hard to say how final the hardware is here but the devices are still carrying the serial numbers and such indicating they're certainly still test units.

While not a whole lot is revealed, you can see the battery door and where the NFC contacts appear to be like on current BlackBerry smartphones. Again, not a whole lot can be taken from the photos but we're only mere days away from BlackBerry Jam Americas where we're hoping RIM will share some more details. You can catch one more shot below.

"Real Photo" of BlackBerry 10 Full Touchscreen Phone Emerges!

Does this device look familiar? If you've been following along with all the BlackBerry 10 fun the last few months it should -- It looks pretty damn close to the image we first leaked back in January of what was rumored to be the first BlackBerry 10 full touchscreen phone. This image here comes via Twitter from @TyC4all who says it's the "first image of the pre-commercial version".

We're not sure where it's from or when it was taken, but it looks awesome. You can just make out the BlackBerry branding on the bottom as well as the top speaker and front camera. It does resemble the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha a bit, but looks more refined. No saying if it's the final hardware but we'd be happy with it. It's definitely something we're looking forward too.
