Although Bullet Time has been rumored as coming to the BlackBerry PlayBook since April, it has now finally arrived and has already risen up the BlackBerry App World charts into the #2 downloaded game slot.

If you're not familiar with the game, Bullet Time is set in a post-apoclyptic world where you play John Irish who has to blast his way through mutants using a ton of awesome weapons to help save his family. In other words, you get to blow things up and it's hella fun.

In it, you'll be taken on a journey through the now dark forest in an effort to bring it back to the light.

If you are looking into the sea of games and apps that have made their way onto the BlackBerry PlayBook, you may be wondering which ones are worth the price and which are not. If you’ve been following CrackBerry over the past few months, you should have noticed a few of the bigger game publishers and the quality of the content they produce.

While there are definitely a lot of indie studios that produce amazing content, today I found a new game by one of the big guys. Union has been alongside RIM for almost the whole time with the PlayBook and have ported games like Samurai II: Vengeance, Muffin Knight, and Roboto onto the PlayBook. Here in Colorado Springs there has been a lot going on. In order to take my youngest daughter’s mind off it all, I found a few new PlayBook games for her to try out. One of the new games was another gem from Union called Bounce the Bunny. We've covered their Super Crossfire HD, Air Attack, Muffin Knight and Burn the City here on the blogs and all of them are a lot of fun to play. While it is similar to those angry games, this one has a bit more of a happy tone to it. Bounce the Bunny is a great game for all ages and is very easy to play. The concept is simple, use the boot to kick the bunny and land in the bullseye. Try to collect as many stars as you can along the way. Use your magic dust to create bubbles that allow you to bounce the bunny in the right direction and keep him from falling.

Features:

• 60 different levels of bouncing bunny fun
• Unlockable upgrades power-ups and rewards
• If bunnies aren't your scene you can try bouncing tigers or frogs instead

This game starts off pretty easy and grabbing all the stars in the first try is pretty simple. As you progress through the game, levels get really complicated and there are more obstacles. Those pesky stars aren't as easily attainable either. Making the bubbles bigger than what they start as was a little difficult but I eventually got the hang of it. I absolutely love the little victory dance that the bunny does every time he lands in the bullseye and the cute little costumes you can buy for him. Bounce the Bunny is currently available for $0.99 (well worth it in my opinion) from BlackBerry App World. Bounce those bunnies (or tigers and frogs) to your heart’s content!

I seriously can not leave my house without my BlackBerry PlayBook, it's all because of the games, and the 7 inch form factor. Now, do not get me wrong I would love to see more applications come across this tablet (like Instagram, Banking apps, and more). What I will say is that I'm definitely enjoying games like Dead Space, Angry Birds, and now Rope Rescue. Rope Rescue is a physics based game in which your sole job is to help other birds escape from wooden cages. I’m sure you’re reading this thinking “Zach, this concept is simple and seems unchallenging. Why buy?”, but just wait CrackBerry Nation, just wait. While the idea of helping a bird get out of a cage seems straightforward enough, how you actually go about doing it is far from it.

Having gained popularity on Android and iOS, Muffin Knight has now made its way to BlackBerry App World for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Brought to life on the PlayBook by Union, Muffin Knight is an action filled adventure but you'll certainly need to put in some hours to complete the game:

Union is at it again with another hit title as Smash Cops crashes onto the BlackBerry PlayBook

Another day and another game available for the BlackBerry PlayBook, and this one is for all those cops and robbers fans out there. Just this afternoon we we heard that a ton of hot new games were coming to the BlackBerry PlayBook, one of which was Smash Cops from Union. There was a lot of speculation about just when we'd see these games, and lo and behold here is one of them in App World now. Smash Cops is a challenging pursuit game where you drive a police car after runaway bad guys, while avoiding pedestrians, civilian traffic, and other obstacles. Choose from any of 4 mini-games: smash a load of cars illegally parked in a car park, weave through a course laid out by cones, and dodge traffic on a highway and collect evidence throughout the city.

Smash Cops uses a different style of control than you normally find in a car/driving type game. Instead of steering by tilting your device or pressing on either side of the screen, you actually place your finger behind the car to steer. It takes a bit of getting used to but it does work well. The graphics are definitely high quality and with different attack and escape routes spread over 20 missions and 5 vehicles you're sure to play this one for some time to come. Every few days my youngest brings me my PlayBook and asks me to find her a new game. We spend quite a bit of time searching through App World and yesterday, I found a gem called Burn the City by Union. We've covered their Super Crossfire HD and Air Attack here on the blogs and both great games. Similar to Angry Farm and Angry Birds, the objective is to create destruction on a massive scale by flinging fireballs at entire cities. One of my favorite games on the Android platform has now been released for the BlackBerry PlayBook. It's not a direct port either, the game -- AirAttack HD has been designed by Union for the PlayBook and runs natively on the device. Pick your plane and fly through the skies all in an effort to avoid getting shot down:

• 8 action-packed missions cast you as a wartime pilot

Back at DevCon 2011 we saw a bunch of cool games during the General Session Keynote, one of which was Roboto. Roboto puts you in control of a hoverboarding robot whose quest it to fend off evil security bots in order to ask out the girl of his dreams. With over 30 levels, Roboto is sure to keep you entertained for hours. Features include:

Union has just released this game for the BlackBerry PlayBook, and it is a real treat. Visually, the graphics are great and very fitting for a game set in Japan. Comic book style cut scenes give you back story and plot for the game, and the color and sounds will transport you right inside, immersing you in the game. The controls are easy to master, and you will be slicing through opponents in no time. Save up points to upgrade your health, unlock new skills, and upgrade attack combos.

Samurai II: Vengeance plays really well on the BlackBerry PlayBook, and the only issue I have encountered is the game crashes when trying to enter the dojo. Hopefully that will be fixed in a future update. Also, be aware that if you are running the beta 2.0 OS on your PlayBook, the game is not supported. As noted in yesterdays BlackBerry DevCon general session keynote, the folks from Unity have now started their roll out of games for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Burn the City, Falling Fred and Kona's Crate have all been approved  to BlackBerry App World and are available for download. Surprisingly, they're not priced nearly as high as some of the other games we've seen released most recently. All three titles are available for only $.99 cents.
