It's swamp racing time as Shine Runner comes to BlackBerry 10

Another great game from Vector Unit has hit BlackBerry World overnight. Shine Runner has been around on other platforms for some time but now graces us BlackBerry 10 users. If you haven't heard of it before it's a fast packed flatboat game where your aim is to collect as many items and money as possible as you race through the swamps.

The popular game FlyCraft has been updated for BlackBerry 10 and the PlayBook and this latest version brings some nice new treats to the game. We featured FlyCraft last year when it first became available for the BlackBerry PlayBook and it has been a big hit - even more so now you can play it on your BlackBerry Z10.

Tennis in the Face is served up to BlackBerry 10

After a HUGE success on the iPhone, Tennis in the Face has made its way to BlackBerry 10. When I first read the title I was a little confused, but after downloading it you will be pleased to know that this is one heck of a game. The title is actually a pretty accurate description. Your character (Pete Pagassi) must hit tennis balls at opponents to destroy them. Aiming is a breeze as you just place your finger on the screen where you want to shoot and then release to fire. The balls can ricochet and bounce off of walls/objects so although you may only use one ball you could end up hitting multiple opponents - that's the idea anyway.

We covered Jump Birdy Jump when it arrived on the BlackBerry PlayBook last year and I was overjoyed to see it crop up in BlackBerry World for BB10 recently as it really is a great game. The 'Built for BlackBerry' game is the perfect example of how gaming is now fantastic on BlackBerry. Gone are the days of us being years behind our buddies on iOS and Android. BlackBerry 10 is giving BlackBerry users just what they want.

Looking for a slice of space combat? If you have jumped over to BlackBerry 10 then Alpha Zero is the place to be. You must guide your space craft through dozens of levels, fighting off the barrage of enemy ships that will try and attack you. Just to make things harder there are numerous 'big bosses' to contend with who take a bit more work to destroy.

It is now also available for BlackBerry 10 devices and due to having a load of fun with it on the tablet I downloaded it for my Z10 as soon as I saw it in BlackBerry World.

Every smartphone platform gets games like this and to be honest it isn't normally my cup of tea as I'm not very good at them. However, I downloaded Fruit Blitz to my BlackBerry Z10 as I was curious to see what this style of puzzle game was like on BlackBerry 10. The game involves matching three or more fruits in a row to earn points. We have covered similar games on the PlayBook before, but if I take a trip on the London Underground I can guarantee to see loads of people using this type of game - so it should be popular.

I do like a bit of motorbike action when it comes to gaming on a smartphone. Luckily, DynaStunts is available to download for BlackBerry 10 and it seems to be fulilling my needs. Like many similar games on other platforms the idea of DynaStunts is to get through each level collecting stars and beating the clock while performing stunts. The game has 25 levels currently and there are a selection of different cups that you can take part in.

Anyone interested in a cool driving game for BlackBerry 10? Beach Buggy Blitz is now available to download from BlackBerry World and in addition to it being a great game it's also free - bonus!

As the name suggests, the aim of the game is to navigate your beach buggy around the race tracks within the allotted time. Failing to reach checkpoints within the time will result in the race ending so you had better not crash into too many obstacles.

One of the ways in which I pass the time is by playing games on my BlackBerry PlayBook. The concept of Frenzy Lanes is really simple - just sort the animals into their correct coloured lanes. This is achieved by swiping them left and right and the game is real smooth. 6th Planet has already had great success on iOS and luckily us BlackBerry PlayBook owners now have the opportunity to get a slice of the pie. The game is all about controlling your space pod and guiding it to the landing area. That sounds pretty easy but of course it isn't that straight forward. Gravity is sucking you down so you must utilise the controls to avoid crashing into the ground or other obstacles. There are only two on-screen controls and these manoeuvre the pod either left/right or holding down both at the same time will move it upwards.

Saving Yello has already been a big hit on Android and iOS, and now that gaming has just got good with BlackBerry 10, Saving Yello was the first game I downloaded from BlackBerry World once I had my BlackBerry Z10. BlackBerry users have been used to having less than average games on their smartphones over the years but things have now changed for the better.

At the BlackBerry 10 Jam keynote in Amsterdam earlier today the developers of Autumn Dynasty made an appearance on stage to give a brief demonstration of their application on the big screen. The game is already available for the iPad and has become the number one strategy game in 25 countries!

Everyone likes a bit of Angry Birds don't they? I do, so I was pretty pumped to see Angry Birds Star Wars pop up in BlackBerry World for BlackBerry 10. We told you just the other day that it had arrived so we thought we would show just how good it looks on the BlackBerry Z10. At the London launch earlier in the week they had on of the chaps from Rovio up on stage and as well as the Star Wars edition being on BlackBerry 10 he also confirmed the other Angry Birds games would also be coming in the near future.

We got a first-hand look at Gameloft's plans for BlackBerry 10 the other night, but they just shot us a note confirming exactly which titles are included in the 11 that they had announced over the summer as coming to the new platform. On top of Asphalt 7, we'll also have Modern Combat 4, which is great news. At Toronto's BlackBerry 10 event, I got some hands-on time with a few unreleased games that are launching soon for the platform, including top-notch Gameloft titles such as Asphalt 7 and N.O.V.A. 3. Modern Combat 3 and Shark Dash is on the way, though Gameloft is far from the only major game publisher that's coming to BlackBerry 10.

We have yet to see Angry Birds Star Wars on the BlackBerry PlayBook (though every other version is there), but Rovio is ready to have its latest spin-off available on BlackBerry 10 devices. Angry Birds Star Wars is similar to the other versions in the game, but it's inspired from the George Lucas (now Disney) film franchise Star Wars.

It isn't going to take me long to describe Springy as it is an extremely simple concept but a lot of fun. According to the developer Springy is a kind of pet - i'm not sure what kind of pet looks like him but that doesn't matter. The aim of the game is to drag your finger around the screen and to not let Springy nibble it. Sounds simple - it isn't.
