Compared to the competition, BlackBerry Smartphones typically have pretty stellar battery life (especially that magical Bold 9700). That being the case, I'm sure every BlackBerry owner reading this can relate to a time when they ran out of juice before having a chance to get back home or to the office to plugin.

Just last week actually I was on day two of my battery and was driving out to my parents in the early evening (mom's bday) and my battery level dipped into the red. It wasn't a big deal for me as I just plugged my BlackBerry into the Car Charger I keep in my vehicle and recharged the phone. For me this is a no brainer - as long as I have owned a BlackBerry I have always made sure to have a car charger... just in case. This event prompted me to wonder if all BlackBerry owners are like me and have car charger? Had I not, I would have had a rough evening of being unconnected.

BeHoroscope by QuiteSimple brings your daily horoscope to your BlackBerry smartphone. After choosing your zodiac sign, you are now able to view the days (or any days) horoscope. It uses a ranking system, giving 1-5 stars for such categories as work, finance, love, health, and of course they could not leave out the BlackBerry category. Cool at BlackBerry App World: Sid Meier's Civilization IV: War of Two Cities

RIM's big annual show, the Wireless Enterprise Symposium for BlackBerry Users (or WES) is coming up April 27th to 29th in Orlando, Florida. It's an enterprise/industry show rather than a consumer one, but it's always a great show and an awesome time. The only bad thing about WES is getting there - if you miss the early bird special, conference passes run for $1799.

Fortunately, the folks at Zenprise let us know about a little contest they're running that will give one lucky winner a free pass to attend WES and even up to $500 to cover air travel. To enter, simply become a fan of the Facebook Zenprise page and write your funniest end user smartphone support story on the wall. A few weeks back on the blogs here we dropped word of the official availability of BerryBlab v1, an app that makes browsing vBulletin web forums friendly on your BlackBerry (which includes the CrackBerry forums of course!). The app has gained a pretty decent following from CrackBerry readers and has managed to maintain a 5-star rating in the CrackBerry App Store and garner some solid reviews:

We have posted on Wheres My Phone in the past and it has just been updated to version 3, adding some nice enhancements.  The application is used to send remote commands to your BlackBerry for such tasks as triggering an audible alarm, battery level check, and GPS location request.  New features in this build include remote contacts download, SMS integration, and remote disabling of the device. The other nice thing about this app is that you pay a one time fee, no monthly or annual service fees. You can pick up Where's My Phone in the CrackBerry App Store for $3.99 for all devices on OS 4.2.1 and up.

We first heard about VQ CarFinder way back in July of last year. Since then the app has come a long way, and has now been downloaded by over 100,000 users (and I'm sure plenty of those downloads came from CrackBerry). If you don't know about VQ CarFinder, it is a simple app that helps you remember where you parked your car. The app uses your vehicles built-in Bluetooth (or optional car charger) to note where you left your car, and you can easily access the app to find it again quickly.
