Official Verizon BlackBerry Curve 8530 Update Coming on Monday? By Adam Zeis | 19 Mar 2010 16:05 |
Not really much to write home about here (unless of course someone at home has an 8530) but it looks like the Curve 8530 update we thought was coming from Verizon will indeed be arriving next week. According to our latest intel, OS 5.0.0.508 will be available from Verizon starting Monday 3/22. From the sounds of it, the new software will be ready to go for both OTA and desktop installs. The site listed in the original PDF is now live but the software is still listed as "Coming Soon". Hang in there over the weekend, we'll see for sure come Monday if this holds true or not.

Official OS 5.0.0.545 For The BlackBerry Bold 9700 Released By Vodafone UK By Bla1ze | 16 Mar 2010 14:28 |
It's almost as if Research In Motion and Vodafone had this one scheduled huh? As we mentioned back when it leaked, OS 5.0.0.545 hit that "Gold" status we were expecting. The one time leaked OS gone official is now available for download from the Vodafone UK website. If you never made use of the leaked version maybe you'll wanna try the official on for size. As always, if Vodafone isn't your carrier make sure you delete the vendor.xml file. Shout out to cbaboy88 for finding it first.

Leaked: OS 5.0.0.533 for the BlackBerry Tour 9650 By Adam Zeis | 12 Mar 2010 12:39 |
Whats this? Two Tour OS leaks in one day? Well, kind of. Ronen at Berryreview snagged OS 5.0.0.533 for the yet to be released Tour (Bold?) 9650. Nothing much can really be done with this one at the moment, but I'm sure it will make for some good investigative work and maybe a nifty hybrid or two. If you're bored today and want to play around, hop on the link below to download. Disclaimer: Whatever you do, don't try to install this on your Tour 9630 as is.

Leaked: OS 5.0.0.548 for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 By Adam Zeis | 12 Mar 2010 09:22 |
*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). Leaked: OS 5.0.0.530 for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 By Adam Zeis | 26 Feb 2010 08:28 |
BBLeaks is at it again and has given some Friday joy to the BlackBerry world with a leaked OS 5.0.0.530 for the Tour 9630. This is a pretty big leap from the last Tour OS we saw, but still not that "official version" everyone is looking for. Hit the links below to download, and be sure to drop a comment and let us know your findings. Please Note: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release, so install at your own risk and only if you're comfortable with doing so. If you've never installed an OS beta before be sure to dive into the CrackBerry forums and read all of our tutorials and learn the ins and outs of beta releases. Keep in mind that these leaked OS's sometimes take a step backwards in one area while making a leap forward in another. If you're on the fence, you're best off waiting until the findings threads fills up with some data. Fingers are crossed that this is a good one!

MTS Mobility Releases OS 5.0.0.484 ... for the Storm 9500? By Adam Zeis | 24 Feb 2010 11:35 | Â
*Update: Looks like the issue has been fixed. The download page now shows OS 5.0.0.419 for the Storm 9530. * In what looked to be another official OS, MTS Mobility has dropped OS 5.0.0.484 -- but it appears to be for the Storm 9500, NOT the 9530. At first glance it seems like 9530 all the way, but as you can clearly see, the filename is "9500" (I installed the OS on my PC to verify). As MTS Mobility is a CDMA carrier, we're not really sure who is to blame for the mix up. The forums lit up with the good news of a 9530 release, only to be let down upon further inspection. We'll try to figure out just what gives and report back. Until then, if you are a 9530 user, do not try to install this OS on your device :-)

Leaked: OS 5.0.0.497 for the BlackBerry Storm2 9520 By Adam Zeis | 15 Feb 2010 09:52 |
*UPDATE- Installer file now added for download - OS 5.0.0.497* Its been forever since we've seen a leaked OS for the Storm2 9520. Almost every other device has had a leaked OS pop up lately, so now the 9520 gets to join in in the fun. BBLeaks posted this one, but keep in mind there is no installer and this is just the OS files. You'll have to put these in the proper folders on your PC before installing on your device, so if you don't know what you're doing, wait a few hours and I'm sure someone will release a version with an installer. As always, use extreme caution when installing a leaked OS. Hit up the link below to download.
