"Seidio knows its accessories and its customers; time and time again they create great products. The SURFACE case and SURFACE holster continue that grand tradition."

For those of you who don't know, gravity is my enemy. It rears its ugly head nearly every time I pick up my BlackBerry Smartphone or tablet. I frequently drop my phone, ram it into doorways, and put my Smartphone in a pocket along with dangerous objects like keys. I'll admit it; I'm a bit of a klutz. That's why I don't like my phone to go naked; for me, a case is a necessity.

I've been impressed by the accessories that Seidio makes. From the Innocase Active series to the Seidio Charging Vault, Seidio knows what it's doing. My latest find is the Seidio SURFACE case and holster for my BlackBerry Torch 9860. The case itself provides a good amount of protection without being bulky, and the slim design allows it to fits snugly and securely into its companion holster. I love that I can get protection without sacrificing the convenience of a holster.

The OtterBox Defender Series case for the BlackBerry Torch 9850 and 9860 is overall one bada$$ case. It offers extreme protection from the harshest conditions and will certainly survive pretty much anything you can throw at it. The case itself is comprised of an inner hard shell and an outer silicone cover, giving it two layers of "you can scratch this" protection. The purgear hard shell and holster combo allows you to retain the size of the Bold 9900/9930 and adding a optional holster. Easy to snap on the device and out the door you go. The soft touch polycarbonate shell allows for the device to be placed in the pocket without picking up debris.

Though the hard shell does provide back protection, the case is limited to covering the sides and front of the device. The holster option is a nice fit, slim and hugs the hip no matter what you are wearing. Though at first it may seem difficult to remove from holster, I actually like the way the device is placed in the holster. The locking system is not much but it won't come loose no matter what i try and do. So if you have been on the hunt for a hard shell case with the holster option, the puregear case should fit your needs.

First up for review is the Incipio Silicrylic Dual Protection case. It's available in four color options – black/black, pink/gray, iridescent blue/light gray or gray/white. In this review I’ve selected the iridescent blue/light gray case.

Like several other Incipio cases, the Silicrylic case comes with both an inner silicone layer and an outer hard shell. The inner silicone layer is very pliable and yet sturdy at the same time. When added with the outer shell, your device will have protection all over with easily accessible cutouts for all ports as well as the camera and flash. The Silicrylic case features a hard plastic back that’s smooth and feels great in hand. The inner silicone layer adds some bulk to your devices buttons and makes them even easier to use. Getting the phone out of the case isn't difficult, which is a good thing if you are like myself and own a BlackBerry Charging Pod. The problem comes into play when trying to get the case back on the device. As shown in the video, the outer hard shell is such a tight fit that the inner silicone layer tends to get bunched up in certain spots and you’ll have to lift the outer shell to maneuver the inner layer around to get that perfect fit.

If you've seen any of my previous case reviews, you know I'm not generally a big fan of having a case on my BlackBerry. When I got my BlackBerry Bold 9900, I knew I was going to need something to keep it looking nice, but I didn't really want to get a case because the phone is too pretty to cover up. But soon the battery door, being plastic, was getting scuffed up from day-to-day use, and I decided it was time.

I had an iSkin case for my Bold 9700 that I liked, so I checked out their line of cases and found a new one for the Bold 9900/30 that looked awesome, the iSkin Aura. It's a really low profile shell case that protects the back and sides of the BlackBerry, while leaving open access to all the ports and buttons. There are cutouts in the back of the case as well, for the camera, flash, and rear microphone.

The Case-Mate POP! case for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and 9900 has quickly won me over as an awesome accessory for day to day use. It has a really great feel to it and offers some good protection to keep your Bold 9930 or 9900 safe from the daily grind. With the POP! case on I wasn't worried about tossing my device on the table or afraid I'd drop it on the pavement getting out of my car. I feel that the POP! case will do a stellar job of protecting the device all around and it definitely makes a great alternative to other less impact-proof cases. Check out the video above for more.

There Barely There series from Case-Mate still stands as one of my favorite cases for all my devices, and the Case-Mate Barely There Brushed Aluminum Case for the Bold 9930 and 9900 is no different. The case snaps right on to the device, holding firm and giving you a good sense of security. It sports a pretty sweet look that definitely adds that bit of flash to your device as well. The ports are all open so you'll have no problem accessing them with the case on, and removing it should you choose to do so isn't hard at all. The only gripe I have is the way it sticks up a bit on the bottom and can cause problems for some people when typing. Check out the video above for more.

Though the standard Commuter case does not come with a holster, (OtterBox, PLEASE make one!!!) we adapt and overcome. In the video you will see the device fits perfectly in a Bold 9000 holster -- the best combo! Now while keeping the sleekness of the Bold form factor, the Commuter adds no bulk at all, giving some of the best protection in cases out there. Though there are some minor drawbacks using the case, it should be sufficient for any consumer looking for ultimate protection. The BlackBerry Leather Holster for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 / 9900!

The calling card of a power user - the BlackBerry Leather Holster!

Depending where in the world you live and what carrier you're buying your new Bold from, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 / 9900 Leather Holster may come in the box along with your phone for free. That's not a bad deal, considering it has a list price of $39.99. And if you didn't get one in the box and want one, you can buy one separately.

In the year 2011 it seems people have pretty mixed feelings from a fashion standpoint about wearing your phone on your hip. I for one typically don't give a rats butt about what other people think, so if I'm looking for a carrying solution that provides the ultimate accessibility to my phone then the holster is the way to go. And as far as holsters go, this Leather Holster is well designed and well constructed.

There is a ton of attention to detail put into this holster. The LED notifier is still visible with a phone inserted, and the headset jack is also visible. The angular-styled flap flips down perfectly to magnetically latch the phone securely into the holster and the case (angle flaps are cooler than straigh cut flaps, don't you think?!). The holster includes a sleeper magnet to put your phone into standby mode automatically and trigger in-holster sound profile settings, and the stitching on this model seems better than on past BlackBerry holsters - it should stand up to some abuse. The fit of the phone is pretty snug, so if you want to use a skin on your Bold and holster it, you'll want to look into other solutions (see our tip about using a Hard Shell or Soft Shell case for the Bold 9930/9900 with a Bold 9000 holster). On the less positive side, we've been seeing many reports about faster battery drain when using this holster with the Bold 9930/9900, which is something to be aware of.

The BlackBerry Hard Shell Case for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 / 9900!

Hard Shell Case + BlackBerry Bold 9930 / 9900 = Winning Combination!

Following up my BlackBerry Soft Shell Case Review, I switched it up to the BlackBerry Hard Shell Case for the Bold 9930 / 9900. It's available in two color options - black or white. In this review I take a look at the black version, but I'll be sure to do up another photoshoot for the white one when I get my hands on it as it's looking pretty hawt! 

Like the Soft Shell case, the Hard Shell case was designed with tight tolerances and fits the phone perfectly, making you almost forget that there's even a case on the phone. If not for the cut outs for the headset jack, microUSB port and camera, you might not even know there was a case on it. The Bold 9900/9930 is so thin to begin with, even with a case it doesn't feel big. On a few occassions now I've handed my 9900 over to friends to check out. After letting them play with it a for a few minutes with case on, they were actually shocked when I then grabbed the phone back, took the case off, and handed them the phone back naked. That says a lot.

Overall both the Hard Shell and Soft Shell cases deliver very similar experiences. The Hard Shell case features a hard plastic back, featuring a bit of a dotted grid pattern that looks nice, and it also gets the chromed BlackBerry logo like the actual phone has. It's definitely tougher than the Soft Shell case when protecting against bumps and drops. The soft touch rubber around the perimeter of the case is grippy and makes the buttons easy to use. Getting the phone in and out of the case isn't difficult, which is a good thing as if you also own a BlackBerry Charging Pod you'll have to remove the phone from the case. And if you're looking to use the incased Bold with a holster, while it will not fit the 9900 holster it will fit into the original leather holster from the Bold 9000 (see this post for more details).
