BBM has once again been updated in the BlackBerry Beta Zone bringing along some fixes as well as support for OS 5.0 devices. Nothing shiny and new this time, but it's always fun to grab a new update. 

Latest updates include:

• Performance & stability fixes
• Support for devices running OS 5.0
• Faster call setup for BBM Voice sessions
• Improved device accessory handling (Bluetooth and headset integration)
• BBID setup and integration improvements

A new version of BBM has hit the BlackBerry Beta Zone today. Version 7.0.1.16 isn't sporting many new features but it does come with some bug fixes and a few tweaks. This is for OS 7 and lower devices (no BB10) so if you're a Beta Zone member you can login now and should see the program available. 

Also - if you're rocking a new BlackBerry Z10, be sure to login to the Beta Zone and update your profile accordingly - just in case :-)

It's about that time for another update to BlackBerry World if you're a BlackBerry Beta Zone member. Right now, if you log into the site you'll find BlackBerry World v4.3 available for download with no currently known issues listed. The changelog itself is brief and to the point, noting that this update simply fixes some bugs and improves stability. You all will have to put that to test as Beta Zone members, so be sure to share whatever feedback you have.

A new version of Facebook for BlackBerry is now available for download in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. The update brings along pull to refresh, photo redesign and a slew of bug fixes and tweaks. It looks to be a good update overall, so if you're a Beta Zone member you should be able to grab it right now. Earlier this month a Sat Nav app was made available for U.K. BlackBerry users via the BlackBerry Beta Zone in the form of the BlackBerry Navigator app. It supported a handful of BlackBerry 7 devices and now more devices have been added to the roster. 

So, if you own a Curve 9350/9370, Bold 9930, Torch 9850 and the Porsche Design P'9981 then you can now download the BlackBerry Navigator app to your phone.

When you log into BlackBerry Beta Zone be sure to check you have selected for the correct device. It should also be noted that there seems to be three different version numbers going around but none of them have differences between them.

If you don't yet have a BlackBerry Beta Zone account, it is fast and easy to sign up, all you need is your BlackBerry ID.

Update from RIM: We know that there were some users who weren't able to download the application from the email we sent out on January 14th. BBM 7.0.1 has landed in the BlackBerry Beta Zone bringing support for OS 5.0 devices. The update includes some overall fixes and tweaks and now lets users running OS 5.0 get in on the action as well. It shouldn't be too long before this one rolls out to the public if things go well.

Download BBM 7.0 in the BlackBerry Beta Zone 

There are a few Sat Nav apps already available for BlackBerry smartphones, and in the U.S. and Canada there is the BlackBerry Traffic app that includes voice guidance as well. Now, it seems that there is actually a BlackBerry made Sat Nav app called BlackBerry Navigator, powered by TomTom.

It is currently available in BlackBerry Beta Zone, though it looks like it is just for U.K. folks at the moment.

Twitter for BlackBerry just had a pretty big beta update not too long ago, and this release really just addresses a few bugs with the previous version. You won't find any new features this round but if you want to keep things running smoothly you'll want to grab this one. 

Fixes include:

• Users may see problems with notifications on Connect Tab and Direct Messages
• User may need to manually refresh the Connect tab interactions to see latest interactions.

It's been a bit since we've had a fresh new version of Twitter, but today RIM has released Twitter 4.0 in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. The new version comes with some great updates that were requested by beta users. Things keep moving along with this one and we should see an official release before too long.

BBM version 7.0.0.108 is now available for download in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. The update brings a whole slew of updates/fixes so it should be a good one. BBM 7 was released in beta a few weeks ago and is already a big hit. It features BBM Voice which allows users to make free calls to BBM contacts over a wifi connection. If you're a member of the beta zone and haven't tried it out yet, you realllly need to do so. Now. Facebook for BlackBerry v3.3 has hit the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This one doesn't offer too much of an upgrade from the current version, but who doesn't love a beta? Version 3.3 is sporting Enhanced BBM Integration which includes the ability to invite friends to BBM and share your PIN. Happy Friday! A new version of Twitter has been posted up in the BlackBerry Beta Zone, so you'll have something fun to get your weekend started. The update only jumps it up to version 3.2.0.11 but it does include a few good fixes. The last update brought along even more, so if you haven't jumped on that yet then this will be a welcome upgrade.

Updates include:

• Following list is not showing following state correctly. The follow button is appearing for many users even though you already follow them.
• Timeline takes up to 10 seconds to appear when switching users
• Twitter Search shows duplicate tweets
• Reply All does not reply to all, only replies to the original sender

An updated version of Twitter for BlackBerry is available for download in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Version 3.2.0.10 includes various tweaks and fixes that keep things running up to par. IF you're a Beta Zone member, you can login and download the update now. Fixes include: 

• Unable to post a tweet if attaching a location is disabled
• Find Friends dialog and page are not translated (all languages)
• Background updates not working
• Timeline doesn't refresh correctly after uploading a photo - Error shown and exception in log file
• Mentions can be scrolled off screen
• Timeline does not auto-refresh after delete/dismiss/undo
• Clicking OK on Finds Friends screen freezes device in 5.0
• After saving a search, the search page isn't updated until after a refresh
• Favorite count shown in the my profile goes to negative sometimes. The count should never be negative.
• Welcome screen users suggestions list does not appear if there is an extended character in the name
• Your Favorites list does not refresh correctly to show unfavorited tweet.
• Thumbnail in summary card is selectable on touch screen devices.

Today sees BlackBerry App World receiving an update in the BlackBerry Beta Zone, and this one is a big one. Pushing up to v4.0, there are a few big additions to note, including the following:

• Integration with BlackBerry Commerce Payment Services for Credit Card and PayPal Purchases - BlackBerry Commerce is a payment service which manages all credit card and PayPal purchases and transactions made on BlackBerry App World 4.0
• NFC Tag Integration - NFC tag integration will allow users to swap applicatons lists
• Ability to Permanently Delete Apps from My World - Users are able to permanently delete apps from My World
• Ability to Re-Install All Apps From My World - Users will have the ability to re-install all apps from My World
• Automatic Find in My World - Automatic Find will allow users to search and find apps more easily in My World
• SMS Authentication - Will allow carrier billing to function for certain carriers who switch from WAP to SMS
• Removal of Gifting/Begging and Ringtones - Ability to remove ringtones when user receives a gift/beg

*UPDATE* - And just like that, RIM has pulled the update down due to it not working correctly for some folks. The fix, download a previous version from the BlackBerry Beta Zone and all will be fine. If you have it installed and it is working fine, there is no reason to downgrade unless you really want to.

It was only a few days ago that we saw v3.2.0.7 released to the BlackBerry Beta Zone but now RIM has another build for those who like to live on the edge to test out. Twitter for BlackBerry v3.2.0.9 is now available in the Beta Zone as well.

Since RIM hasn't sent out the notifications fully for this release yet, they've also not updated the changelog for now so you're on your own to dig through some of those. Once the changelog gets posted, we'll update the post but in the meantime if you see anything of note, drop it in the comments.

At the end of August we let everyone know BlackBerry ID integration was coming to the BlackBerry Beta Zone and here we are now, a short time later and the changes have been made. Users signing into the BlackBerry Beta Zone are no longer asked for a separate username and password, instead you're prompted for your BlackBerry ID which is used on all your BlackBerry devices. If for whatever reason, you don't have a BlackBerry ID yet you can create one here. If you have any addition questions as well, RIM has set a frequently asked questions page for everyone that can be found here.

If you’ve been a BlackBerry Beta Zone member for a while now, you probably noticed that changes have been made in order to make the beta experience smoother. Today another new change has been announced and that is single sign in with your BlackBerry ID. We all know that using multiple user names and passwords can get a little cumbersome when it comes to remembering which one is for what. Today RIM has announced that they are fixing that for BlackBerry Beta Zone members. In the coming weeks, BlackBerry Beta Zone will now be using your BlackBerry ID for your login information.

“We are pleased to announce that we will be integrating BlackBerry Beta Zone with BlackBerry ID (BBID) to create a more streamlined login experience for you. If you do not currently have a BlackBerry ID, not a problem, you can simply create one here!”

If your BlackBerry ID name is the same as your Beta Zone account no changes will be required on your part, RIM will handle the migration for you. If your Beta Zone name is different then you will need to assist in the migration process, but its actually quite easy.

Just a little ways back RIM launched version 3.2.0.3 of Twitter for BlackBerry into the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Today RIM has updated twitter for BlackBerry in BlackBerry Beta Zone to v3.2.0.5. The latest update is to address a few things, but most notably the issue were the trends list was showing the wrong region. The full change log can be found below.

The following is a list of issues fixed in version 3.2.0.5:

• Trends list is incorrect, and not for the proper region
• Follow button on users list do not appear in correct state
• The follow button is cut off when using a larger font size on the search page
• Misaligned lock image on user lists
• Details missing on error dialogs when clicking link for show details - exception in log
• The verified logo is cut-off on the following list screen
• Text isn't vertically in the centre of focus on location selection drop down of trends
• Email popup field opens when you check or uncheck the show password option
• Truncated link causes it not to work/open to intended article

Version 3.2.0.5 is available for download in BlackBerry Beta Zone, and emails with download links should be arriving in Beta Zone participants inbox shortly. If you're not a member of the BlackBerry Beta Zone program grab the link below and help test future BlackBerry products.

Facebook has once again been updated in the Beta Zone, this time to version 3.2.0.8. This one actually changes quite a bit within the app, so have a look at the list below and see what's been added or changed. Some of the stuff is notbaly carried over from previous builds but improved upon:

• Ability to see the details of an event (basic information only: times, venue, description)
• Ability to see the list of events that a user has created or is invited to in chronological order (not clickable items)
• Ability to see a filtered guest list for the event by RSVP (Going/Not Attending/Maybe/Not Responded/All Invited)
• Ability to see events shown as quickly as possible
• Event notifications open the new event screens
• Ability to change the RSVP status of an event
• Ability to link all Facebook friends' birthdays to your BlackBerry Calendar
• Previously integrated birthdays in the calendar are removed when birthday integration settings are changed
• Ability to select which friends’ birthdays appear in the device calendar
• Ability to see friends birthdays in chronological order from the current date
• Ability to see friends birthday’s grouped with date headers
• Previously contact-linked birthdays are pre-selected

The update is showing now in the BlackBerry Beta Zone, so be sure to grab it if Facebook is your thing. If you're not seeing it yet, sit tight. Looks like it is still filtering through.

With Twitter for BlackBerry out of the way, RIM has now released the latest update to Facebook for BlackBerry into the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This release has a few changes in it and RIM has listed some of the stuff they're working on for upcoming releases as well.

New features of Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones 3.2.0.5 include:

• In-App view of Friends' Birthdays
• Ability to add Friends' Birthdays to the BlackBerry Calendar

Upcoming features in this version (to be included in the beta refresh release):

• Access to Facebook Events
• An update to the icons on the Navigation Grid

The Twitter for BlackBerry Gold Candidate (version 3.1.0.17) is now available for download in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. This should be the last version before an official release in App World, so get in on the fun while you still can. Some good fixes in this build that look to make it pretty solid.

• Updated Twitter Bird
• Sharing Tweets over email fails to keep links shortened
• Reply Hotkey not working and menu item missing on the Tweet Details screen if the Tweet is Retweeted by you
• When replying to a Tweet with a location, location call out pops up over top of the text in the Tweet
• Main account was deleted/logged out from app after experiencing network issues
• Spell check dialog appears as well as the suggested usernames in Sign Up screen

A fresh version of BlackBerry App World is now available in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. Version 3.1.4.20 brings some great new features and fixes, so if you're a Beta Zone member you should get on this one. Updates in this version include: 

• Download all app updates with the new "Upgrade All" button
• Share your list of installed apps using NFC technology
• View lists of installed apps from multiple friends using NFC technology
• Connect BlackBerry App World to BBM to display a variety of new BlackBerry App World actions in your BBM personal message
• Finnish language support 
• Various bug fixes
