Hello CrackBerry Nation! CrackBerry - True Tales of BlackBerry Use and Abuse - Second Edition - is coming to your bookstore around the globe this fall. Myself, Gary and Martin are teaming up again to help the world understand why our BlackBerry's are so damn addicting. I got over 20. Although I don't use mine for communication so much as a newsreader, I'm in my car in the passenger seat for over 5 hours a day for my job, so I use it all the time to read blogs and news items.

I scored a 24. im in trouble here, just cant get enough. just today i realized, when i was at my desk i forgot my phone at home. How i havent yet figured that out. but i left work drove the 30 min to get home got it and got back to work. really before blackberry i never would have done that, i would have place a call from my office phone, or emailed from get this a computer, and notified my people that im sans phone. nope not now, went all the way home to get it.

Ummm I'm an addict... 25. Have to say it was much easier just to count the no answers. Only answered no to question 8 and.... 25.

I scored an 18. I couldn't say yes to questions like : Have you ever put down your BlackBerry swearing that you will not use it, and then find yourself picking it up again shortly afterward? And: Do you try to stop using your BlackBerry on weekends and on vacation, but just can't? Because I have never put it down and said I wouldn't use it or said I wouldn't use it on vacation. ;)

I had eleven "yes" responses, making me "Strongly Addicted".

I knew I was addicted long before this quiz came out though. I was once in the bathroom at work, thumb typing away on BBM with a close friend, when I heard the door open and someone enter the stall next to me. To my utter chagrin, it was one of my coworkers that knows me well. The conversation went like this:

Coworker: Oh my God, Tina, is that you?
Me: Uh, yes. Hi.
Coworker: Are you typing on your Blackberry?
Me (now breaking out into an embarrassed sweat): Uh, yes. I was.
Coworker: I come in here to do that all the time too!
Both of us just laughed at that point.

Needless to say, I am not the only Blackberry addict in my office, though I've got it bad!

20+ Beyond Addiction into Obsession (Get help now!) (said yes to all)

I would say your sampling here will probably run very high (15+ for just about everyone) because of the site.

I ranked at Painful, because I just couldn't bring myself to admit to some of the behaviors and because some read like duplicates.

Ahh! You guys know me too well
Or maybe we all just love the Taste of the Berry
22 lol becuz I can multi-task and not ignore many
Having a blackberry taught me that lol!

Hmmm. However, I am not ashamed or worried!

My BB is the first line of communication for me. As a matter of fact, I'm waiting for a BBM from my sick husband to tell me he's woken up this morning.

I have 4 "No"s. My first BB was the Pearl 8130 and since then I've had the Curve 8330, Tour 9630, and a laundry list of WinMo and Android phones. Each time I've left the comforts of BB for another, I always come back to BB because the others just don't come close. I don't know why I leave because I always come back.

I'm currently using the Bold 9650, and I know I'm sticking with BB.

First step is admitting you have a problem but I don't have a problem, I really don't. I can walk away from my BB and never look back, I don't need it...
Btw.
My Score= 21 yes of 27. :-/ (I think there is something wrong with your quiz, because it's not me.)

... you find yourself thinking that August 3rd is a special date (maybe a friends birthday?) and then remember with a little embarrassment that it's the day of AT&T's Torch announcement

I've had my BB for seven weeks and I'm at 17. What will my score be in six months? Has there been a BlackBerry intervention yet? I'm not saying I need one - I can quit whenever I want. Is there an app for that when I'm ready?

I've got a BlackBerry obsession. I scored a 22 & the only reson it was so low is because I answered no to questions like: Do I ever TRY to put my BB down on the weekend or on vacation? Why would I TRY that? And do I sneak away to use my BB? I don't sneak! Everyone KNOWS I'm an addict. I hope they don't find out that I'm really obsessed with it!

Hups... 21 yeses. I am a very very strong addict after few months of using BlackBerry.
I used to use Symbian (touch, non-touch), PalmOS, Win Mobile (touch, non-touch) before. I wanted to switch to Android few months ago, but I couldn't. I really need BB.
I have my personal BB 8900 Curve and waiting for business 9700 Bold. I can't imagine anything better for personal and business life than BlackBerry.

To see results of quiz. I only answered no twice. I'm an addict and I love it. Crackberry only makes my addiction worse. Lol. Keep it coming cb universe.

Seriously though, what else is there to do in the bathroom?? Sometimes I find myself in the bath instead of shower just so I can use my beloved Berry. And wow, I guess 4 9700's is a little overboard haha

23/27, so ya...addicted. You know it bad when your loved ones have to tell you over and over, "Chas get off your BlackBerry" or "You're always on your BlackBerry" and they have to repeat it multiple times cause you're to busy BBM'n to notice them.

Oh and of course you check Crackberry.com atleast 5 times a day!

The one question that was missing that should have been on there...

"Have you ever sent yourself an email just to make sure everything was still working right because you hadn't gotten any messages in the past couple of hours?"

Where's the support group? I scored 25. Not surprised at all.

I got 24 of 27 but I'm giving myself +1 for answering this on my blackberry haha. I'm a stage 5 clinger to my blackberry and never letting go. My laptop is right next to me too but it's closed. I would rather answer this in the appropriate manner, caused by my inherent addiction.

I started out with a Pearl and upgraded from there with every BB availabe. I now have the Bold 9700 and love it!! I don't remember life before being an addict. It makes my life so much easier with all the applications. I especially like the calendar!

Hahahaha wow I scored a 21 and felt like it was actually higher as some of the questions require you to try and not use my bb -- I don't even kid myself into thinking I could turn my bb off for vacation/weekends! :D

You'd be surprised dude. Once you're truly addicted, it gets in the way of your social life. You'd think it wouldn't because it's partially intended to aid in your social life, but it indeed does get in the way. I remember wanting to put mine down because I was missing my favorite TV show. How is that even possible some may wonder.

I never expected to be this addicted to my bb. But realizing all my answers I am becoming quickly aware that I am addicted to this little thing.

Thinking back now over all my arguments about why BB are great phones, I realize I sound much like an alcoholic justifying one little sip.

Maybe there's a service interruption and i'm not getting my messages.

Let me turn around and be late for work, all because I forgot my SPARE battery.

(WHO HAS A SPARE BATTERY ANYWAY!)The same person that carries a charger with her at all times!

This is terrible.

15/27, so I still have hope of not being addicted :)

I mainly use mine for messaging friends and podcasts and the like, which racks up the usage and checking for me.

... my girlfriend nags about my bb use.. but never actually said that i have a problem with it...:S, no concern.. just angry.

27 out of 27. They don't call it a crackberry for nothing. I use the screen for a flashlight (no app required!) and I don't know what I'd do without my UberTwitter and mobile Facebook accounts. Plus, everyone knows I can always Google anything at any time and that's paid off handsomely when bets are being made. I once tried an android phone for 15 hours and traded it in for my 9700. What had I been thinking! I actually felt guilty I'd tried a different phone. But that phone was a toy with no built in apps. My BlackBerry rules! It does everything - including vibrate!

Okay so I do have a slight addiction, first part is admitting it.

btw What would make someone post every freakin question and your answer in your comments?? Need attention much? *smh*

Ok so I took the test and found out I'm in a "PAINFUL ADDICTION". I guess its better than being obsessed right? :x lol Ok so what I love my BLACKBERRY!

They try to make me go to rehab but I say no, no, no! Wow 23 out of 27. I knew my life was pretty much run from my BB but I didn't realize my life = my BB. I need help.

I scored 16. I think my constant use of texting, emailing and twittering is what pushed me to that number.

I don't have a problem. I have it under control. I can handle this. hee.hee.

The only one I could honestly answer no to was #25 and that's only because I had to remove all games to avoid wasting so much time in the past. I think I may need serious help after reviewing this list. I gotta make sure my wife doesn't see my results or she will use them to have me admitted.

fyi...#8 is possible with the Overboard waterproof case...I'm sick I tell ya!!!

16...but only because i dont actually try to curb my addiction, so some were not really applying to me!:)

this survey was very biosed and they were going for most of us to score high... the questions were not worded in such a way you couldn't answer no

I scored a 18/27 so I'm painfully addicted! I have been 2 minutes from work and realized my phone was on the counter at home and turned around and driven all the way back home to get it even though it meant being late for work. I'd much rather take my chances with my boss on being late than having to endure a whole workday without my Blackberry!

I think I'm in trouble.... I scored 25/27

I scored a NO on the first question, because I would never even contemplate giving up my blackberry, so I have never failed to give it up... and I do not have a backup blackberry, but I do have an over the counter exchange warranty for my blackberry so I can get one in a moments notice if it does break, and I keep my most current backup file stored on the micro sd card in my blackberry so I can swap devices quickly and painlessly....

"Yes" to all, except:

#5. No. I don't deny, I defy.
#23. No. I am confident that I will never lose my BB as it never leaves my side. I am confident that I can always fix my BB if ever broken, happened only once.

*Sigh*, I guess my wife is right...

20 yesses. If it weren't for CrackBerry though, I know my BlackBerry experience wouldn't be as full as it is. I learned darn near everything I know about BlackBerries here. RIM should get rid of that tutorial you see when you turn on your BlackBerry for the first time and just post a link to the CrackBerry site.

Ok! Darn it I did not need a dose of reality! I scored 20. "My name is Dave and I am an addict" sound familiar? Is there a 12 step programe for Crackberry addicts? Do I want to kick the addiction? Nah!! BRB I have to check my email.

I gave Android a spin, but I came right back to my BlackBerry... It's like an abuse relationship, I just can't leave...

PS - I loved the first CrackBerry book, Kevin! I read it on my Kindle, excellent work!

I scored 21 and sleep with my BB under the pillow! I'm the Storm Survivor. Now that's an extreme lunatic!

Scored a 24 and number 5 is a solid no as I am always pointed out for using it so much wherever I am and always deny deny deny lol.. I can slip my BB in and out of the holster in a flash..

Not bad. Some of the answers were border line so it could have gone as high as 16 but thats still not tooooo bad. What can I say? I'm a BB addict and proud of it. Could be addicted to far worse things so there!

Scored over 20... I'm an addict and I admit it, no hope for me xD

Im on it 24/7, all the time in school, cant do without it at all. I think its BBM thats so addictive, use it to message my friends all the time, works amazingly well!

How anyone can do without a BlackBerry is beyond me, carry around the USB wire where ever I go, BlackBerry has a screen protector and case too.

26. Do you feel ‘lost' or ‘naked' when you don't have your BlackBerry with you?
Lost. Not naked.
27. Do you feel hopeless about your relationship with your BlackBerry?
She is controlling my life.

Thank God - I'm merely addicted, not obsessed! :-) 20 y'all! Though put my husband and my scores together and we're off the chart!

I mean, come ON, everybody is going to answer yes to most of those questions if they a honest . . . aren't they?

OMG! I'm not going to say what my score was, but thank god it was not 100%. But I now realize that I'm a very sick person! "I DO NOT WANT ANY HELP!"

There is absolutely no hope at all for me. I answered yes to all the questions. I'm a gonner for sure.

I guess I've never really had much of an addictive personality. Even managed to ignore it buzzing every 2 minutes with happy birthday wishes today.

See my addiction, my attachment to.........my BlackBerry.

I'm posting this while sitting, waiting in a sushi bar downtown...

I came out here to have a few sushi rolls for lunch with my girlfriend. When we finished eating and received the check, I found that my pockets were empty. None of the usual items I carry, were on my person. No chapstick, no change, no credit cards, no I.D., NO MONEY. I left them all at home! I remember setting those things aside before taking a shower to go out to eat.
So, I sent my girlfriend home to get my money to pay for the meal. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here in the restaurant with the one thing I DIDN'T forget to "not leave home without". Can you guess what that is?
My BlackBerry.

*funny this happens after reading that article here on CB, about Verizon & ATT and the credit/debit card thing....that could have came in handy today.

Hmmmm...Yes answers, 25/27.

I'm not sure what I can say that hasn't been said already. I have tried every platform and find myself repeatedly coming back to Blackberry. It just works. Phone, email, even the web for searching google...everything does what it is supposed to do. There is something about BB that gets in your bloodstream. I have found that when I've had other platforms, I get this tense feeling in the back of my neck that is only relieved by using my BB. Say what you will about the browser, etc. I've tried others, and yes, there are phones out there with phenomenal web browsing, media, etc., but at the end of the day, when I need a phone that makes calls, holds calls, gets me my email, and just for kicks throws in my Documents, mp3's, and some pictures, I need look no farther than my Blackberry.

my addiction is so bad, i am no longer allowed to bring my blackberry to my shrinks office, because i pay too much attention to it...

Easy 20+ while answering no to a few business related questions (use it for personal almost exclusively) and no to ones like "Have you ever put down your BlackBerry swearing that you will not use it, and then find yourself picking it up again shortly afterward?" and "Do you try to stop using your BlackBerry on weekends and on vacation, but just can't?" because I'd never be crazy (or sane) enough to do those in the first place.

Beyond addict, but I see it as a good thing!

I will sometimes pick up my BB knowing I don't have any messages or anything and look for something to do. When I realize there's nothing or nothing of interest to do, I go out and download something for me to do. Sick....just sick!

Scored a 20!

Why would I even tray to stop using my blackberry on weekends or during a vacation??

I would never go to Dubai or any other blackberry unfriendly country.

Only one no and that is because I gave my spare to my girlfriend.

My score is 13.

I love using blackberry, I carry it everywhere I go (except bathroom, shower, rain, dust, and some more. I am a butter finger).

My BB rests always in its holster and I take it out after every 10 min or less.

Before going to bed I clean my BB with a soft cotton cloth, so dust or any thing doesn’t accumulate on it.

I have more than five smart phones and most of them are NOKIA Symbian.

I even have iPhone 4, which is used for games at times when I am coming home from office (two hours of painful journey every 5 days a week).

I never miss email/SMS/notifications and telephone calls.

My current ring tone is intro music of sweet home Alabama (Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd).

I have converted 2 people to BB from symbian and winMO/Android.

I took the quiz.. Said yes 22 times...
Hubby wants to send me to Dr. Drew for BlackBerry Rehab
I'll be at rehab on t.v. showing off my BBM bar code LOL!!!

I know all about that certain addictive quality that BlackBerry has and I admit - I actually don't try to resist it.

I do need some help though. LOL!

Peace...

Well I didn't score a perfect 27, because I don't drive nor I posses a secondary unit, in case my primary takes a dive, however I do pay almost $9.00 for Assurion Insurance a month and they promised me overnight delivery in the event of something catastrophic were to happen to my Storm 2.

19.

I bought my blackberry as a way to save time. I thought that if I could get my emails on the go, I could save time by not having to check them when I got home. Not so much. Instead, I have a crackberry. Instead of reading and responding to my emails, I read them, ignore them most of the time, and hop back over to my twitter app or whatever other thing that I was doing--checking something on the web, BBM'ing, etc etc. And when I get home, instead of dealing with my email, I find myself on Crackberry.com, searching for apps, ways to make my 9700 faster, or any tricks that I might not already know about.

My brother told me about this site, less than a year ago, on the day that I got my first blackberry. Luckily, I had the day off of work and read things on here until about 3 or 4 in the morning. I've been hooked ever since, and I know more about blackberries than all of my friends, friends whom have had them for YEARS. Not only that, but it hasn't even been a year and I'm already on my 2nd blackberry. Upgraded from a 8520 to a 9700. Had to be done.

All that I have to say is that I will NEVER go iphone. Or android. Blackberry for life. (or for RIM's life, whichever comes last)

I can't believe I had 26 yeses. This must explain why I charge my battery when its less than 90 %. I really need some HELP. I have my blackberry in my holster even at school lol. What can I say crackberry addict and PROUD!

Got 16 "yes"

Question 15 is good though, met a lot of interesting people while bumping into them, think I dated a girl for a couple of months after bumping into her.

Guess that makes me very addicted to my BlackBerry. Not something I didn't know already but this just puts a kind of stamp on it

19...I never understood the whole crackberry thing until I got my first one 8 months ago. I had an iphone for two years before and was never as into it as I am my BB. Would be lost without it.

I take BlackBerry breaks. At work I go to the washroom just to use my BB to play games and surf the web...I've had people come to look for me in the washroom and I fake a tummy ache in order to justify why I'm in there so long...I hope no one I know is reading this!
Oh and the only ones I answered no to are the ones that involve driving...so I guess that's 20+ addiction...oh well...at least I'm not addicted to an iPhone!

21 Yes/6 No

I have a problem and I know it. I also realize from reviewing the response of others that there economic angle here for me. I could start a Rehab Center for BB Addicts and get the wireless providers to provide funding for advertisements. Or better yet, I could start a class action suit make good money and we can all revert to basic phones again. So I am now looking for startup funding... Calling all Venture Capital organizations. LOL..

20- Yes and 7-No. The BlackBerry technology 'IS' my passion, that is why I started my own business supporting the BES Servers, Smartphones, etc. "BlackBerry is....My World, My Life" :)

I scored an easy 21. I purposely denied a couple that could've been "yes" as I realized I was headed down the garden path to addiction. My family and several friends routinely ask me how I would feel if something "happened" to my Berry. I've been shamed by teenage girls who think I'm more of a text addict than them. I answer that my Berry is mostly for work (which is pretty true)...but i don't get much sympathy. Oh well.

Uh oh - 22. Er... so what I say! Boo-yah! The BlackBerry has changed my life for the better - freeing me from my sedentary computer and my boring office. I just wish there was a new one that was graphically right with better Internet connectivity. But God bless RIM.

My boyfriend left me since 4weeks ago after, i tried ALMOST EVERY spell caster to restore my relationship and i was disappointed by ALL OF THEM. None of them worked, A week later i got this email address robinsonbuckler @ yahoo. com from a website and after his spell was done on my boyfriend, it worked very FAST and the result was effective. Mr Robinson is the ONLY spell caster who i had success with, my boyfriend called me and said he wanted me back in his life. he came back to me begging me to accept him back and this happened Due to the love spell from robinson he told me that my boyfriend would come back and Just the way he said it, that was the way things went. Am so happy that i have found my love back.
