Q3/Q4 device lineup for US Cellular

The crew over at Android Central let us know they got their hands on some webinar slides from US Cellular, and lo and behold we have some BlackBerry smartphones listed on there! The slides indicate that the BlackBerry Torch 9850 is due to release on this carrier in August, and BlackBerry Curve 9350 in October. This isn't entirely a surprise, as we did see that rebate form a few days ago that listed these devices, but this does narrow down the date for us.

Just one thing is left aside from the actual date of release, and that's the official announcement from RIM regarding the existance of these devices. Check out a couple more slides after the break! Thanks Phil!

Bold 9650 OS 5.0.0.810

Nicely timed with their release of the Bold 9650, U.S. Cellular has made available OS 5.0.0.810 for download. This is a later version than what shipped on both Verizon and Sprint devices, so if you are on a different carrier you may want to give it a go. Users picking up a Bold from U.S. Cellular today can grab it as well and get a head start on things. Head over to the link below to download.

CrackBerry BlackBerry Bold 9650

U.S. Cellular announced today that the BlackBerry Bold 9650 will be available both online and in stores on Wednesday. The BlackBerry 6 ready device features a full QWERTY keyboard, Wifi, Bluetooh and a 3.2mp camera. U.S. cellular is the latest CDMA carrier to get the Bold 9650 (after Sprint and Verizon) but it is noted that it will ship with OS 5 but is BB6 ready pending certification by the carrier. No word of pricing or contract terms were given in the release. Hit the jump for more.

US Cellular

Great news for all US Cellular customers today! TeleNav has announced a partnership with US Cellular to be their navigation service on several devices. Starting today, US Cellular customers with a BlackBerry Tour 9630, Curve 8530, or Pearl Flip 8230 can download Your Navigator Deluxe to their devices.

The best part is that US Cellular is following Sprint's lead and bundling the navigation service into their existing $30 data plan for the BlackBerry devices. I wish all other carriers would follow this approach.

In case you aren't familiar with TeleNav, here is what the service will bring to your device:

  • 3D turn-by-turn navigation
  • Speech recognition
  • Traffic rerouting
  • More than 12 million business listings
  • Restaurant reviews
  • Daily gas prices
  • Weather information
  • Integration with email/contacts/calendars
  • An online trip preplanning site (http://uscc.telenav.com)

Check after the jump for the full press release.

US Cellular BlackBerry 9670

It's not often that we have news from US Cellular on back-to-back days, but this one we just couldn't pass up. In what appeared to just be a press release announcing some Android devices, a paragraph about the Bold 9650 release caught my eye.

The carrier will release the BlackBerry Bold in early August and later this year it will offer a BlackBerry flip smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard. U.S. Cellular is also releasing new touch screen devices like the LG Banter Touch featuring a 3-inch touch display and side-sliding QWERTY keyboard.

If you check out the second part of the sentence, the reference to the "BlackBerry flip smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard" can only be referring to our good friend the BlackBerry 9670 (unless there is yet another full-QWERTY flip in the works that we have yet to hear of). What does this mean? Well most likely that Verizon will land the little guy first and US Cellular will (as always) follow in their footsteps a few months behind. So if you do the math, the 9670 should be released somewhere in the next few months... hopefully sooner than later. Check out the full release below.

US Cellular BlackBerry Bold 9650

US Cellular announced today via their Facebook page that the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is on its way. The device has already been released on both Sprint and Verizon, so as with the last few CDMA devices it's no surprise that US Cellular isn't far behind.

We're thrilled to announce that the new BlackBerry Bold 9650 will be coming to U.S. Cellular stores in early August! It's got a 2.4 HVGA Display, 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi, Optical Track Pad Navigation and World Phone capabilities. Yes, this is one great smartphone --- if we may be so, ahem, bold. :)

No official date has been set but we should have more info in the coming weeks. Also, no sign of the device on their official site just yet, but it shouldn't be long before it pops up in "coming soon" style.

US Cellular Outs BlackBerry Bold 9650 Via Mail In Rebate Form

Seems we have been concentrating so much on Verizon releasing the BlackBerry Bold 9650 that we kind of forgot about the few other CDMA carriers that might also grab it. As it turns out, the folks over at HoFo posted up the above screen shot of it showing up on a US Cellular rebate form. With this little bit of information, one has to wonder if big red is actually gonna have the device out before US Cellular. It sure doesn't seem that way considering the amount of time it's taking - but really, who even knows any more. One thing is for certain though, this devices needs to get here now.
