Tvider Grows Into A Full Featured Twitter Client With 2.1 Release

As far as Twitter apps go, Tvider was the last one I though would actually turn into a full featured client. I always saw it as more of an add on to twitter much like how TwitVid just serves the purpose of uploading videos. Yet, with the release of 2.1 Tvider has gone all the way. Sadly, with that change they have also made it a paid app that is only available via BlackBerry App World for $2.99. Not so sure the changes are enough to make you want to pay the price for a Twitter client when so many others are available at no cost.

New Features Included:

  • Click pictures, record videos or just say something in your voice and tweet.
  • Tweet pre-recorded multimedia from phone memory or SD card.
  • Tweet plain text.
  • Reply to tweets using text or multimedia.
  • Retweet friend tweets.
  • Search Twitter users.
  • Enjoy viewing/playing multimedia tweeted by other Tvider users.
  • View a Twitter user’s profile.
  • Follow/Unfollow/Block a Twitter user.
  • Send/Recieve/View/Delete direct messages.

Just in case that new list of features isn't enough to make you want to pay the $2.99, the old version of Tvider which is version 1.2 is still available for free. I can't see myself paying for Tvider considering the other options but I certainly will continue to use the old version for media uploads. Hopefully that version will remain free.

The number of Twitter users is continually increasing at an alarming rate. Some use it for the forces of good and others...not so much. I remember writing a review over a year ago about OpenBeak, (previously dubbed TwitterBerry) and briefly explaining what Twitter was. Now, it’s so quickly adopted. Personally, I enjoy using Twitter over Facebook, as I find it less time consuming (unless you’re addicted). So for those who follow me on Facebook…sorry for not being active. One of the many, many reasons why I enjoy Twitter is having access to breaking news and events; not just from the news. Users can upload media, along with their tweets.

I’m also happy to see so many Twitter applications out there for BlackBerry that add a fair amount of functionality while on the go. Adam has done a fantastic job with the Ultimate Twitter Client Roundup; which covers many of the well known clients. Seeing how I haven’t worked on a Twitter client review in quite some time, I thought I would delve into the recently released Tvider. Tvider is designed to simplify the way you tweet images, audio and pics; let’s see if this birdie can fly.
