BlockDrop - Bringing Classic Block Games Back

The other day while waiting in the doctors office I was rather bored, and decided I'd take a look through the CrackBerry Superstore to see what I could find to waste a few minutes while I waited. I happened to come across BlockDrop from Swoosh software. BlockDrop is pretty straight forward as it's a simple "Tetris-esque" game in the fact that blocks drop and you have to move them to create lines. If your screen fills up, that's it and you lose. Three levels of difficluty, auto saving and easy on the eyes graphics make this a quick grab for wasting some spare time.

PopUp for BlackBerry Smartphones PopUp for BlackBerry Smartphones

I'm down in Miami for a few days, so before boarding the plane yesterday I checked the CrackBerry App Store to see if there were any new time-kiling games for me to load up and have some fun with during the flight. Lo and behold I found a new one from Swoosh Software called PopUp that, while basic, proved to be pretty darn fun. PopUp is a puzzle game where you need to work fast to match block clusters before the board overflows. That's it. Simple and fun. Oh, and the special blocks mix things up a bit. You can grab PopUp at the link below. It's on sale until April 12th and a free trial is available.

WordWizard WordWizard

Great BlackBerry games are hard to come by. Its no surprise with the lack of screen space and memory that some games just don't play like they should. For this reason I'm always a fan of great puzzle or strategy games that play well on BlackBerry. Sitting at the doctors office, waiting in the car or just hanging out on the couch, they can make for a great time killer. Enter WordWizard. In this game you have to spell as many words as you can before time runs out. To get to the next level, spell one or more words that use all the letters, and get bonus points for guessing the word early. There are over 20,000 words in WordWizard, and multiple levels making it great for both kids and adults. You can get it for just $2.99 until April 5th, and a free-trial is available.

PhotoNote PhotoNote

New from Swoosh Software is PhotoNote. The handy app allows you to easily take photos on your device and add quick notes to them. To start just fire up the app, then choose New Note. You can either take a new photo with the camera, or pick an item from your library. After you take/select the image, type in a quick note and you're done. You can view your full list of notes for review, or fire one off as an email to a friend. PhotoNote can be used as a personal diary for traveling, a visual to-do list, a handy shopping tool, reminder app and more. The items are all sorted for easy vieiwing with the thumbnail side-by-side with the note text. PhotoNote sells for $4.99 in the CrackBerry App Store and a free trial is available.
