One of the hardest things I have done in my life to date was trying to get back into shape; I have tried to change nearly my entire lifestyle to become much healthier. I don’t know about you, but for me, finding motivation  to get back into a normal exercise routine and eat healthier was something I would always think to do.  I would usually try for a week or two and then fall back into the same old rut of not following through. When looking around for various ways to try to kick start my health and get myself more active I began hunting a pedometer – something to raise my awareness around how much I walked (or didn’t for that matter).

While there are plenty of options -- many ranging widely in price from as low as $10 to others that are up and over $100 -- one that continued to stand out in reviews and advertisements was the Fitbit Ultra Activity/Sleep Tracker. So, like anyone else who is intrigued and looking to try something out, I went out and purchased one. Could a little companion that you clip on your belt really kick start a healthier lifestyle and make things change for the better long term? Let’s hit the break and take a look at how this small object made such a huge impact in my fitness success this month.

If you are like me, and struggle to get a full day per charge on your standard battery that came with your 9650, then you are probably looking for new battery options. While hunting around, I came across the Seidio 2600mAh battery for the 9650, and while initially I was rather hesitant to add the size to gain the capacity I decided the pull the trigger on the battery anyways, and give it a shot. This decision is one that I am forever going to be happy with, and let's hit the jump together to see if this battery is also right for you.

Review: Ventev PowerCELL Backup Battery

One lucky member of the CrackBerry Nation will win one of these Ventev PowerCELL Backup Battery packs. Read on for details.

No matter how hard I try I really cannot make any device I own last a full and complete day any more. My BlackBerry Bold 9780 comes close but it's just not enough. I really don't like the idea of running out of juice when I need it most. For some folks carrying a spare battery is the ultimate option but given that I often have a few devices that I make use of, I was looking for something that would be compatible with them all.

I finally decided to give the Ventev PowerCELL a try as it includes several connectivity options, most of which are compatible with all the devices I own. After having used it for a while now, I'm glad to say I no longer fumble around with multiple batteries and chargers. I simply deal with one battery, for all devices and top each one up as I need to.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Review - Power Traveler

[ youtube video link for mobile viewing ]

The BlackBerry 9800 Torch has been touted as the "best BlackBerry that RIM has produced." While many have mixed feelings about RIM's newest sizzling hot device (aka. The Torch), I was given the task of reviewing this device from the prospective of a person who travels/vacations a lot.

While OS6 boast some significant changes, I believe that OS6 was released prematurely. OS6 is still a bit too buggy to have been released on the Torch...even if the 9800 is true to its tagline: "Less than an evolutionary leap, more like a triple axle."

* ShopCrackBerry Update: The demand for the BlackBerry Torch Charging Pod has been so high it's been tough to keep them in stock, but a fresh supply just arrived so if you've been wanting a Torch Charging Pod today is the day! *

Hands down my all-time favorite BlackBerry accessory, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 Charging Pod is one that no Torch owner should be without. In addition to providing you with a simple way to charge your device, the charging pod also allows you to turn your device into an alarm clock and take advantage of BlackBerry's awesome bedside mode feature [see video on using bedside mode]. You can also hook the pod up to your PC or Mac and use it to sync your device as well. A truly invaluable accessory that should definitely be in your arsenal. The BlackBerry Charging Pod for the BlackBerry Torch is available at ShopCrackBerry.com. The BlackBerry Charging pod is avaiable for a lot of different device models, so if you don't have a Torch you should still grab a charging pod for your device [see all charging pods].

BlackBerry Presenter Review

[ youtube video link for mobile viewing ]

Why carry that heavy laptop and projector to your next presentation, when you could confidently waltz in with minimal baggage? Imagine the BlackBerry as a vessel for your PowerPoint slideshow, projected wirelessly via Bluetooth, with you at the helm, steering a dynamic presentation. You're nimbly traveling from city to city, lugging minimal gear, staking your claim as the road warrior king/queen and continually wowing board rooms with your style. Let's face it, your pageant is powerful, lightweight, and can practically run itself, allowing you to focus on your audience.

Sounds heavenly, right? That's the picture painted by RIM and its accessory, the BlackBerry Presenter. You simply plug it into a projector or monitor, and present Microsoft PowerPoint files wirelessly, leaving you free to roam the stage or room, using your BlackBerry smartphone as the presentation controller.

BlackBerry Bluetooth headphone showdown

[ youtube video link for mobile viewing ]

Let's say you're in the market for Bluetooth stereo headphones. Good choice. You'll be releasing yourself from the tyranny of wires and ending the saga of headphones yanked from ears and BlackBerrys yanked from desks. But gaining the freedom to walk about and audio controls as close as your right ear comes at a price. Bluetooth headphones aren't cheap, and any savvy consumer will consider a whole host of questions before pulling the trigger. How well do they sound? Are they comfortable? Am I buying the right one? That's where this article comes in.

In this showdown, I put the BackBeat 903, MOTOROKR S305, the LG HBS-250, and the MOTOROKR S7-HD in a head to head to head to head (phone) competition. Product descriptions and statistics only tell part of the story. I wanted to know how well these devices performed in the real world, with an actual person using (and abusing) them. Which set of headphones sounded the best? Which were most comfortable? Best controls? Worst in show? All will be revealed...after the break.

Have you had a problem with keeping a steady signal on your Smart Phone device? Maybe you're driving and you lose reception going downhill. Maybe you've dropped a few calls while talking at home, or better yet, you have to go to a kitchen corner for better reception. Well the kind people at 5BARz have come up with a possible solution for those of us that live out in the sticks with no reception, called the ROAD WARRIOR. The slogan for 5BARz is "Always On! Always connected! Anytime. Anywhere." Sounds tough doesn't it? After all, it's a WARRIOR!

What can you say about the BlackBerry skin case? Almost everyone has one, be it for looks or protection, and it is probably the most common case there is. The skin case covers the back and sides of the device protecting it from daily bumps and bruises, while giving you some style in the process. The cases some in a variety of colors, so you can be sure you'll find one that fits you (and your device!). If you like to keep it simple and don't want to go overboard with an insane amount of protection, this might be the case for you. Check out the video about for a quick look, then hit the jump for some images.

Review of Jabra BT500

I recently had the opportunity to take a look at the Jabra BT500 Bluetooth headset. This is the successor to the Jabra BT250, and it is lighter and slimmer than the previous generation.

Included in the package was the Jabra BT500 headset, an AC adapter to charge from a power socket, a USB charger to charge directly from a PC, 3 MiniGels, and a small manual. The headset is sleek and stylish, sort of a gunmetal gray that matches my BlackBerry 8700, (in case you care about color coordinating your wearable electronics).
