Fresco OS7

Last week I told you about Fresco, the latest theme release by popular theme developer Pootermobile. Little did I realize he had a surprise up his sleeve. By that I mean Pootermobile has released his first OS7 compatible theme for select devices. With the help of two fellow theme developers, BBThemes and drkapprenticeDESIGNS, Pootermobile has seemlessly transitioned the best of the original Fresco to OS7 and the result is brilliant. All of the unique features that made Fresco what it is are there including the smooth looking transparent banner with dedicated weather slot (#19) and the intricately designed icon set.

Now that he's built his first OS7 theme I can't wait to see what he has in store for us next. Fresco is wallpaper friendly (though I prefer the default background), stylish, uses the default OS7 layout, and is compatible with BlackBerry 9350/60, 9790, and 9900/30 running OS7. This vibrant and refreshing theme can be yours for $1.99 in BlackBerry App World.

Stitch by Pootermobile

If you're looking for a well crafted BlackBerry theme that's easy on the eyes, you need to check out Stitch by Pootermobile. Appropriately named, Stitch features details throughout that make this theme look and feel as though it was hand-made just for you. The minimalistic homescreen features a weather slot and dock of 3 mini-icons that are user defined. It looks very smooth as the icons sit on ribbons, laid against leather banners. Though the wallpaper is customizable, I really like the texture Pootermobile has chosen. It's subtle and classy, and the white icons really contrast well against it.

Compatible with most BlackBerry smartphones running OS 5.0-6.0, you can grab Stitch absolutely free in BlackBerry App World! If you download it, be sure to leave a review as thanks for the awesome new look on your BlackBerry. You can check out Stitch and the rest of Pootermobile's themes at the links below.

D-light by Pootermobile

Pootermobile is back with a delightful new BlackBerry theme, aptly named D-light. As always, he has left no detail unattended, packing in lots of great features that will please even the pickiest of theme connoisseurs. The home screen starts out with a side dock of customizable text icons, cleverly styled with a transparent background so your wallpaper will shine through. To the right of this is the weather/OCD slot, cozy and out of the way yet perfectly accessible. On the far right is the clock, tucked away a bit, and your date and meters. The app screen icons are colorful yet small, providing a clean look against the textured background. The color scheme throughout is black and grey with orange highlights, an awesome choice for any occasion.

D-light is a solid theme that you can be proud to own for your BlackBerry 8330/50i, 8520/30, 9000, 9100/05, 9300/30, 95xx, 9650/70, and 9800. You can buy it today for $3.99 at the link below.

Flo by Pootermobile

Well, Pootermobile has done it again, releasing yet another incredible theme that you are not going to want to miss. This latest edition to the World of Pootermobile is named Flo, and she is beautiful!

Featuring one of my favorite color combinations, dark red and grey, your screen will take on an air of sophistication that it's not experienced before. Don't like the red wallpaper? Not a problem, because this theme is wallpaper friendly, so any you choose from your collection will show through the center of the screen, framed nicely by the grey border. Tap the arrow on the bottom of your screen to slide up the hidden dock, filled with your top 9-12 apps (depending on device). Use the same arrow to slide the dock back down to reveal your wallpaper again. Custom red battery and signal meters contrast against the dark background so you can tell at a glance where your device stands. Similarly, the light grey icons stand out just enough from the darker backgrounds, providing a very visually appealing look.

You can have Flo for $3.99 for your BlackBerry 8330/50i, 85xx, 89xx, 9000, 91xx, 9300/30, 95xx, 9630/50/70, 9700/80, or 9800. Use the link below to head on over to the CrackBerry store where you can see more screenshots and make your purchase. *Please note that due to current limitations in Theme Builder, no themes are available at this time for the new BlackBerry 7 devices.*

Contest: Pootermobile has provided us with 40 copies of Flo to pass on to you guys. If you want to enter to win and you have one of the compatible devices listed above, drop a comment below. One entry per person, and the contest ends Sunday at midnight. Good luck! (As a little extra bonus, Pootermobile has thrown in a fun surprise for everyone, which you can check out after the break!)

Haven by Pootermobile

Pootermobile has just released his latest theme creation, and it is a real winner. Called Haven, this theme will be your refuge from theme related stress. The wallpaper friendly home screen features a unique peel-back look which allows an icon to peek through. This spot is perfect for a weather app or whatever you use frequently, and comes with vertical status text that fits in the space nicely. Fun new icons pop against the black background of the application screen and I like the blue/green color of the focus icons throughout. Haven runs smoothly on my device, and I love that the home screen is minimal and doesn't detract from my favorite wallpapers.

You can pick up Haven for $1.99 for your BlackBerry 8330/50i, 85xx, 89xx, 9000, 91xx, 93xx, 95xx, 96xx, 97xx, and 9800. If you'd rather take your chances and try to win a free copy, you're in luck because Pootermobile gave us 50 copies to pass on to you guys! Leave a comment below to enter. Contest ends Sunday at midnight PST, one entry per person, of course.

Attire by Pootermobile

Attire, as a verb, means to "put on special clothes to appear particularly appealing and attractive". No wonder Pootermobile chose Attire as the name of his latest BlackBerry theme! This is like that little black dress you always turn to; comfortable, classy, functional and flexible. Attire sports customizable text icons in a bottom dock (2-4 depending on device), a fixed application button, a weather slot, and custom battery and message indicators. The clock and date are clear and easy to read, as are the fonts used throughout the rest of the theme. Now, if you know Pootermobile, you know they always throw in a little something extra, and Attire is no exception. In the top banner you have not only a profiles icon, but also a short cut to the BlackBerry music app and a widget to toggle the weather slot on and off!

This is a theme you will be returning to again and again for its versatility and ease-of-use. And since it's wallpaper friendly, you know you can really make it yours by accessorizing with your favorite images! Attire is available for $3.99 and is compatible with BlackBerry 89xx, 9000, 91xx, 95xx, 96xx, 97xx, and 9800.

Kino by Pootermobile

If you're looking for a fun and colorful theme, built with quality and packed full of function, then you need to check out Kino by Pootermobile! I really don't know where they get all these fun ideas for themes, but they never fail to impress me. The moment I installed Kino on my Torch I was immediately transported to the beach… well ok, not literally, but the sand-like background and blue dock full of whimsical icons made me feel like I was there. The unobtrusive clock at the bottom rests on a puffy white cloud that's just peeking up onto the screen. As you scroll along the vertical dock, a blue bubble with a little bounce lets you know what icon you're on. By far my favorite part of Kino is the little helper, Poots. He's a little red-faced BlackBerry Bold that shows you how to use each of Pootermobile's themes. In Kino, Poots appears on your screen, riding a unicorn!! And if that's not your thing, no worries because you can hide them in one motion.

Kino is available for $3.99 and compatible with BlackBerry 89xx, 9000, 91xx, 95xx, 96xx, 97xx, and 9800. Keep reading after the break for contest details! You could win a free copy of Kino, or a TWP t-shirt!

Rubus by Pootermobile

Pootermobile is back again with a slick new BlackBerry theme called Rubus. As always Poots had his thinking cap on when he designed this theme, and he added some innovative features that aren't found elsewhere. For example, he kept Universal Search on the home screen, which many other theme developers have removed. What really sets Rubus apart from the others is the addition of widgets, which allow you to add or remove the calendar, weather slot, and icons on the home screen. The ability to customize a theme to your liking right on your device is really cool!
Other features include:

  • Customizable icons on home screen - (5 for keyboard devices, 8 for touchscreen devices, 4 for the BlackBerry Style)
  • Weather widget 1st position in the applications screen - (weather application of your choice required but not included)
  • Widgets Options Page - click the options icon on the bottom left banner
  • Universal search on home screen - (only for devices running BlackBerry 6)
  • Wallpaper friendly
  • No carrier
  • Transitions throughout
  • Trackpad on the home screen for the Torch has been disabled because of a conflict in the Widgets page.

Compatible devices include BlackBerry: 8900 (Curve), 8910 (Curve), 8930 (Curve), 8980 (Curve), 9000 (Bold), 9500 (Storm), 9530/9530T (Storm), 9550/9520 (Storm2), 9630 (Tour), 9650 (Bold), 9670 (Style), 9700 (Bold), 9780 (Bold), 9800 (Torch)

Amor by Pootermobile

Valentine's Day is approaching quickly, and we have a beautiful new theme from Pootermobile to help get you in the mood! Amor is a well crafted theme that you can enjoy for Valentines, and long after. The home screen sports an awesome banner that you can customize with a special message, and unique battery and signal meters in blue. The colorful 3D icons are eye-catching and look nice against the red backgrounds on each screen. The u-shaped dock on the home screen has 6-7 customizable icons depending on your device, and can also be hidden for full wallpaper love. This theme has no screen or menu transitions, which is nice for this of us that don't care for them.

Overall Amor is a great looking theme for guys or girls, and would make a great addition to your theme stockpile. Additionally, Amor would be a great gift for that theme loving BlackBerry addict in your life! At just $3.99, it's cheaper than flowers, and will last a lot longer. ;) Compatible with BlackBerry Torch, Storm, Curve 85/89/93, Bold 9000/9700, and Tour 9600.

Contest: Pootermobile wants to share the love with everyone, and has given us 50 copies of Amor to pass on to you! Rules as always: Leave a comment below to enter. One entry per person please. Contest ends this Sunday at Midnight PST. Good luck everyone!

Free Theme: Meridian from Pootermobile

Meridian Theme

In the spirit of the holiday season, Pootermobile has developed a theme for you free of charge. Instead of the typical snow or santa type theme, they built it so that it could be used at any time of the year. The theme features a weather slot, hidden calendar and transitions and is very wallpaper friendly. I also really love the simple text used (instead of icons) on the homescreen that we previously saw in their Sheath theme. It really does give your device a simple and classy look.

Meridian is a very good looking and simplistic theme. Best of all it is free! Head on over to the CrackBerry App Store and download it for your 8900, 9000, 9630, 9650, 9550, or 9700 running OS 5 or your 9800.

More information and free download of Meridian theme

Sheath theme

Sheath is a new theme from Pootermobile. It features a completely customizable dock that is vertically placed on the homescreen. The icons on this dock are displayed as text. You can place 11 of your favorite apps here for your keyboard device, and 15 for your touchscreen device. This definitely makes this theme one of the most functional homescreen experiences out there, and you rarely have to leave it. Sheath also features a big clock, transitions throughout, and is very wallpaper friendly.

Overall, Sheath is a very high quality theme that brings a totally custom look to your BlackBerry device. You can pick it up for $3.99 at the CrackBerry App Store. It is compatible with the 8900, 9000, 96xx, 95xx, 9700, and 9800.

Ceres by Pootermobile

Pootermobile is a talented theme developer that is always looking to bring something unique and eye catching to your BlackBerry. His latest theme Ceres continues with that mission, and I have to say, he has definitely accomplished his goal. Not only does this theme have awesome grungy icons and fonts, the homescreen is designed to look like a polaroid taped to your background. What's cool about this feature is that when you change your wallpaper, it becomes the picture in the polaroid!

Other features include:

  • Customizable icons (6 for keyboard devices - 8 for touchscreen devices
  • Transitions throughout
  • No carrier

Ceres is available for $3.99 in the CrackBerry store and is compatible with 97xx/96xx/89xx, 95xx, 9000 devices running OS 4.6 - 5.0 and the Torch 9800. Note from Pootermobile: All Torch (9800) themes as of now are being made with a beta

Juice by Pootermobile

CrackBerry is always looking ahead to the future. Not long ago, BlackBerry 6 was just a rumor, and now here we have it pre-installed on new devices and leaking left and right for others. Kevin is always a step ahead of us all, and joked a few months ago on the podcast about BlackBerry 7, calling it "Juice". Well developer Pootermobile has created a theme based on his ideas of what BB7 may look like, and naturally he named this theme Juice in honor of Kevin's predictions.

Juice has a lot of cool features built in. On the home screen you have a top banner with a weather slot and your clock. You can also access a hidden today screen from this banner by clicking on the little arrow. The bottom dock contains five or eight user defined icons depending on your device. The bottom banner houses a hidden menu with Manage Connections, Options, Files and Memo so you can quickly access those apps without having to leave your home screen. And if you want to clear it all off and see just your wallpaper, you can do that with the click of your escape key.

Pootermobile has also developed a new feature for his themes. When you first install one of his new ones, his mascot Poots will appear on your screen to give you a quick tutorial. While not everyone may need this additional help, I think it's a nice idea for those people that may be new to themes or who don't like to take the time to figure out all the little details on their own. Plus, that little guy is cute! Poots doesn't interfere with anything, and will disappear after changing screens from today back to home.

Juice can be purchased for $3.99 in the CrackBerry store, and is available for 9800, 97xx/96xx/89xx, 95xx, and 9000 devices (OS 4.6 and up, excluding Bold series devices running any leaked BlackBery 6).

Contest: 25 Copies of !Futurism to be won. Leave a comment!
