Nimbuzz share

With the latest news of Saudi Arabia shutting down BIS service to their population, and the other countries threatening to cut off BIS access to devices in their respective countries, I found this little tidbit to be interesting. Tobias from Nimbuzz fired me an email this morning, letting me know that he has seen a massive increase in registrations for the free multi-platform instant messaging client. Over the past week, registrations have gone from a few hundred a week, to 8,000 on Wednesday and a whopping 35,000 new users yesterday alone! Users facing loss of their BBM capabilities are scrambling to find an alternative, and it seems that the number one solution for them is Nimbuzz.

The main thrust of the ban in this region is against the BlackBerry encryption methods, and Nimbuzz runs off a different format, allowing it to remain legal. With other countries in the region threatening the same type of action, it will be very interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks for this company. Rumor has it that UAE, Lebanon, Indonesia, India and China are considering the same measures, and registrations from users in those countries are mirroring that, beginning to climb steadily as their governments continue to move towards their goals.

Nimbuzz - Update Adds Multilingual Support; Fixes Connection Issues

Another Nimbuzz update has been rolled out. This one is pretty simple when it comes to the change log involved. In the past users had some issues with connectivity when using OS 5.0 and it's many variations, the update serves to correct that. Aside from those issues, the application itself has been sped up a bit. Logging into the services is now faster then ever.

Finally, more users can now enjoy Nimbuzz as support for additional languages has been added (Arabic, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, German, Dutch, English, French, Hebrew, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish) specifically.

Nimbuzz Updated And Now Working On OS 5.0 Devices

For those of you who got hooked on using Nimbuzz only to find out it wouldn't work on OS 5.0, this will make you happy. My boy Afropoika let me know that Nimbuzz updated at some point and is now compatible with OS 5.0 devices. Nimbuzz did outline the fact it's only with version starting at .4xx and up but really most users should be above that by now. I did have a few issues with it running over Wi-Fi but I think that was more an issue with RIM then with Nimbuzz. Let us know in the comments if all is working fine for you now.

Nimbuzz

It seems as though the need for availability and connectivity is becoming increasingly important. This is true in both personal and professional lives. How do you keep connected to the people you know? Are you constantly on Yahoo! Messenger? How about living on Facebook or MySpace? You're probably chatting away on Google Talk or even using Skype. Whatever you decide to help you stay in touch and on top of the latest, you also want to try and keep things simple and organized. The last thing you want to do is find yourself tripping over multiple applications.

If you're looking to incorporate a multi-community mobile social messenger into your communication carousel, Nimbuzz will help you stay in touch with everyone from one place. No switching between programs, no confusion as to who is using what. It's simplified socializing by swiftly shootin' the sh-um...poop in smartphone style (how's that for alliteration?). The social butterfly in you is just dying to read more, isn't it?
