MMMOOO GIF

Back in January we were introduced to a very original BlackBerry application from MMMOOO called MMMOOO Gif. The idea behind the application was rather simple, you could create a gif right from your device, and even make some minor edits to it. While creating a gif on your device is fun, and they could be shared with friends, wouldn't it be more fun to be able to set them as your avatar on BlackBerry Messenger? As you know recent updates to BBM make it so that a gif can be used as an avatar, and now you can create your own.

Once you launch the application you will have two options, one for a regular gif, and the other for a 100x100, which can be used as a BBM avatar. From here all that is needed is to film what you what to use, edit if you wish and then save it. Once saved you can then set this as your new BBM avatar with ease. Creating and setting a new gif takes only seconds, and allows you to keep it custom and constantly changing. The developers at MMMOOO are constantly seeking feedback on the application and using each comment to improve the application, so be sure to drop some feedback in BlackBerry AppWorld after you pick up a copy for yourself from the link below.

Contest: We have 25 free copies of MMMOOO Gif to give away this week, courtesy of MMMOOO. You know what to do if you want to win: leave a comment below. One entry per person, contest ends Sunday at midnight PST. Don't want to try your luck? You can download the free version or buy the premium at the links below.

Having options is something that just about everyone loves, options of wallpapers, ringtones, but how about having more than just the default options for unlocking and locking your device? Last week Adam took a look at Easy Lock Pro and while it is a great option for many, we wanted some more variety, right? Luckily for us another great option that is feature loaded is Unlock Pro by the folks at MMMOOO, and it is a great alternative lock option for your device. Featuring three different lock screen options, the ability to customize what is displayed, and what wallpaper is shown, allows for it to fit the needs of a wide user base.

Whether you want a lock screen that allows you to slide to unlock, or pull down to unlock or if you want the ability to quickly launch into camera and other options, Unlock Pro is a great choice for you. The developers have put a ton of time and hard work into making the application well polished, and while there are still a few minor display kinks to work out, they are ready for feedback and willing to listen to ideas. There is a free version which offers just one of the three lock screens, but the paid version which unlocks the other two and all the other features will only run you $1.99. Be sure to hit the link below and check it out for yourself!

Contest: The fine folks at MMMOOO have offered up 25 copies of the full application, featuring all three lock screen options and all the features. All you have to do is simply leave a comment on this post. Contest ends Sunday, limit one entry per person.

MMMOOO Gif

I don't know how they do it, but MMMOOO comes up with some of the coolest apps and themes time and time again. This time, they've released something I don't remember seeing on BlackBerry before: an on device, animated gif maker. At first I was skeptical, but as soon as I tried this app out on my Bold 9900, I knew it was a winner.

MMMOOO Gif is super easy to use. All you do is take a short video with your device from within the app. Next you can add color effects and frames, and then preview your creation. The preview screen has options for removing individual frames, speeding up the animation, and changing the order the frames appear. You can save to your SD card or to device memory, though of course SD card is recommended. After the finished gif builds, you may email it from within the app, or access it from your memory card to share on Twitter, Facebook, BBM, or anywhere else you want! Overall, this app is a lot of fun and really easy to use.

There are both free and premium versions of MMMOOO Gif, so you can try it out before you buy it. The free version will put a small MMMOOO watermark on the bottom of your creation. The premium version costs $6.99. Both are compatible with most BlackBerry devices.

Contest: We have 25 free copies of MMMOOO Gif to give away this week, courtesy of MMMOOO. You know what to do if you want to win: leave a comment below. All MMMOOO asks for in return for winning, is that you leave a fair review on either App World or the CrackBerry store about the app. One entry per person, contest ends Sunday at midnight PST. Don't want to try your luck? You can download the free version or buy the premium at the links below.

Calendar Wallpaper by MMMOOO

Calendar Wallpaper by MMMOOO

I get frustrated when I need to quickly see a calendar with the current month and I have to fumble around opening the BlackBerry calendar and switching back and forth between applications. Wouldn't it be neat to have a calendar right on your home screen so you can easily view it? Now you can have just that. MMMOOO has developed an application called Calendar Wallpaper that pushes the current month's calendar right to your home screen. You can customize it with different colors for weekends, current day, current week, and general color. You can also choose to have a solid color background or use an image on your device, and if you're the type that likes to plan ahead, you can choose to show two months instead of one.

I like this app and think it's useful, however there are a few additions I would like to see in future updates. For example, if you frequently switch wallpapers, you may not want to use Calendar Wallpaper unless you plan on changing them manually from within the app. It would also be great to be able to choose where on your screen the calendar appears. As it is now, there is only the one option. This could overlap other elements on your home screen, depending on what theme you are using. These are only minor issues however, and easy to work around, if they affect you at all.

Calendar Wallpaper is just $.99 and available for BlackBerry 8330/50i, 85xx, 89xx, 9000, 91xx, 93xx, 95xx, 96xx, 97xx, and 9800. There is also a free trial available, so you can check it out before you purchase.
