Loopt has been growing in numbers these days. And with that growth, comes the need to add more services to every platform they support. This time around, they are bringing additional options to BlackBerry users by adding in LooptPulse. LooptPulse is similar in some ways to that of Gowalla and Foursquare in the fact it allows you to check into places, leave tips and share information for others to view. LooptPulse also offers recommendations from their many partners. Event info comes from Metromix, Zvents, and SonicLiving and combines it with places info from Zagat, Citysearch and Tasting Table. • Listen to music clips from concert Events and RSVP to see who else is going on Facebook!
• Search for Events and Places by date and distance around you, your friends, or specific places 
• Share button on Events and Places to share them with friends
• Ping your friends directly from the Friends list to quickly find out where everyone is!

Loopt has just released their most recent update to the popular location based service. The new update offers the ability to add "Tips" about the locations you share with the Loopt community. Leaving tips for others is a simple process, you just go to the Discover tab and select the place that you want to leave a tip for and enter the information which you can also then share on Twitter.

In addition to tips being added, Loopt has also included addressbook integration. So now you can launch Loopt directly from your contacts list which allows for faster access and easier lookup of all your friends. You will also notice maps now has it's own tab, a feature which has been requested for a while now.

Not too long ago Loopt dropped a big update and released for the Bold 9700 and Curve 85xx devices. We got word that the app is also now available for the BlackBerry Storm and Storm2 in BlackBerry App World. The free app has been updated to show off the capabilities of the touchscreen devices.

You can discover nearby places and events by perusing detailed information from Zagat, Citysearch and the Loopt community. Or you can see where your friends are on maps and view their latest updates listed in real-time. Best of all, Loopt on the BlackBerry Storm runs in the background, which allows you to update your location in real-time while you are on the move, even when the Loopt application is not running in the foreground.
