Leaked BlackBerry Bold 9800 Photos Show Off A Little More Of The Webkit Browser

Whoa. Early morning treat for all you BlackBerry Bold 9800 slider fans out there. Brought to us by the folks over at The Cellular Guru, we now have some nice clear shots of what is surely one of the first BlackBerry devices to have BlackBerry 6 on it when released. Running on the slider, as you can see from the above shot is the long awaited Webkit browser Research In Motion has been working on. And judging by the picture, doing quite well as it just scored a 100/100 on the Acid3 test. As Kevin had mentioned before, it is indeed a touchscreen that is not powered by Surepress technology so we're all still waiting to see how that works out. Click on over after the jump for a few more pics of what to expect.

First Real Pics Of Upcoming OS 6.0?!?

Well, this is rather interesting to see. The above shots were recently posted over at BBLeaks. Now, while the pics are mentioned to be of OS 6.0 they are clearly just images of what might be. Nothing appears to be running on a device here. Oddly enough, they look all too familiar to the concierge app that was shown off at DevCon and again in a recent RIM held webinar. So, while we can't say for certain this is what it's going to look like or definitively confirm the accuracy (nor does BBLeaks), what do you think if this was indeed the case? Looks entirely too crowded for my liking, if they are indeed the real deal. Share your thoughts.

More BlackBerry Slider (9700a) Pics Show Up Online

In an effort to give us all a better feel for the BlackBerry slider (aka 9700a as it has shown up as... at least for now anyways as that could easily and should change), the folks over at BBLeaks have got some more pics for us to gaze over. These pics give us a look at the back end of the device as well as give us a size idea by being compared to a BlackBerry Curve 8900. As with all prerelease devices, what we're looking at here is pre branded hardware. And while it may likely be close to "final form" the released models will have branding and such from carriers on them and will certainly look more polished. Past prerelease devices such as the Bold 9000 first showed up wearing a plastic battery door. A far stretch from the leather backing it arrived with at release. Some of you may remember the Bold 9700 was first seen with a trackball, so while pics give us a general idea, everything should be taken with a grain of salt until newer, branded hardware is spotted.

Still lots left to learn about this device as the days go by, hopefully we'll get to see a better look as many, many questions remain unanswered here. What about the camera? Is it 5MP and making use of the liquid lense we heard? Or is it still running the old 3.2MP that has been standard. What about the screen? Is it touchscreen? OS it's running, if any? Here’s to hoping someone out there can actually get an up close and personal look with one that actually powers on at some point. Now, with these new pictures showing up has it changed your thoughts on the device? One more picture after the break of the side by side with an 8900.

Another BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Spotted Gallivanting Around

Alright folks, this is getting kind of out of hand. Normally before a device is released we see a few hands-on photos and videos of them but with this particular device, the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 has surely seen more then a "few" hands on. The newest one comes to us courtesy of FeedBerry which is an Indonesian site and will be doing a follow up post after some more hardware testing. So, not only is it making its rounds in the US and Canada, it has gone international now.

The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 has so far, been rumored to be arriving in April during WES 2010 according to some analysts out there. But really the device looks complete, the OS with each hands on keeps showing a higher revision then the previous and people are waiting for it. Research In Motion might as well just get it out to whatever carriers are picking it up and revise their WES launch plans to different device if they truly do plan on hanging onto the 9100 until then.

First Live Images Of The BlackBerry Dakota Emerge?

* Update from Kevin: This is DEFINITELY one of the older pre-dakota prototypes (ie. magnum). Don't expect to be buying this exact device anytime soon (errr.. never). But something nicer and updated is in the works! *

We've been hearing the codename "Dakota" for a while now. The Bold 9000 sized, 3G, Touchscreen device with a full QWERTY keyboard that is also rumored to be using a "Liquid Lens" designed for high quality images. And now the above pic appears on Twitter followed by a second, clearer shot. showing off it's trackball / trackpad-less form factor.

Is it a Dakota? Or is it more likely that this is a Magnum prototype? Or some other prototype that got left in the trash can? Magnum was the predecessor to the Dakota, whose design was scrapped and then transitioned into Dakota. No OS details were mentioned from @cellguru, so it remains unknown if there is even an OS loaded onto it, which makes it a little difficult to say with 100% certainty what device it actually is. We were under the impression that Magnum didn't have a trackpad while Dakota did, plus the actual look and styling of this device seems a tad bit older than that of the latest generation of BlackBerry Smartphones. If it is Magnum, then hopefully we'll see some Dakota soon and that'll clarify the situation. That's all we have for now. Feel free to speculate in the comments. Hopefully some more details will turn up soon. In the meantime, what do you all think of the concept? Liking the notion of a BlackBerry that's half touchscreen, half physical keyboard?

BlackBerry Pearl 8100 vs. BlackBerry Pearl 9100
BlackBerry Pearl 8130 (left) vs. the new BlackBerry Pearl 9100

It looks like Christmas came early on the good 'ole CrackBerry tip line. I woke up this morning to some nice 'presents' in the form of these BlackBerry Pearl 9100 photos. A few weeks ago we dropped a number of first-look BlackBerry Pearl 9100 images here on the blogs, but missing from that set of eyecandy were comparison photos to the original BlackBerry Pearl.

In these photos, the new Pearl is compared to a dummy unit of the Telus BlackBerry Pearl 8130. Though the 8130 is a dummy unit, it's a solid representation and gets the job done. As you can see, at first glance the new and old Pearl are similar in appearance, and then the latest RIM BlackBerry styling from devices like the Storm2 and Bold 9700 jump out at you on the 9100 - trackpad and beveled edges on the glass like the Bold 9700, battery door cover like the Storm2, sliced into a narrow form factor with a fierce looking keyboard.

My big question to everybody.... do you think now that the trackball (the original PEARL) is gone from the device, that the new Pearl needs a more manly name?? Sound off in the comments!
