TELUS BlackBerry Style priced at $49.99 according to Future Shop ad

Chalk this one up as another case of big box outlets outing carrier device prices even before the carriers get a chance to announce them. Future Shop, has posted the BlackBerry Style 9670 pricing for TELUS on their website. As was mentioned previously, BlackBerry Style dummy units have already arrived at TELUS. With this information now being posted up, it's pretty safe to assume that we'll get to see an "in time for the holidays" launch of the BlackBerry Style for TELUS' remaining CDMA users. Just remember folks, this is a CDMA only device it cannot be unlock for use on Rogers or any other GSM carrier and that's $49.99 with a 3-year contract.

FS Torch

We've been hearing for quite some time that release dates for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 on Canadian carriers was set for September. The big three, Bell, TELUS and Rogers have all confirmed an inevitable launch but no dates were set by any. Rumors suggest TELUS will launch on Sept 16th but, we now have the above information which suggests a Rogers release one day earlier on the 15th. We're assuming the $999.99 price point is just a Future Shop place holder so, nothing can be said about official pricing from this information. We'll be sure to keep you all updated though as we find out more information. So, who's grabbing a Torch on launch day in Canada?

Remember That Team Canada BlackBerry Bold 9700?

Zach over at TheBerryFix, had a user send in some pics of the limited edition BlackBerry that was given to Team Canada and certain Future Shop employees. I would love to be able to get my hands on one of these. Sadly, there were only 60 made and as it stands right now if you want one word is you'll not be able to find it for anything less then $10,000. Yikes! Still, a nice piece of eye candy though. Personally, I'd love to see more "limited editions" actually be released to market.

it looks real pretty!

Here's a cool story. After winning Olympic gold in mens hockey, Research In Motion commerated the event by handing out custom designed BlackBerry Bold 9700's with Patriot branding to the players. In addition to having them given to Team Canada, Research In Motion also made 20 of the devices available to Future Shop employees who had the best sales records In February to give away as sales incentives.

Sadly, the chances of being able to pick one of these up is slim to none unless of course you find someone willing to part ways with it for a price. Which, would likely be high due to the limited edition factor here. Pretty awesome for any Team Canada fans out there, I'll certainly be looking on eBay to try and find one. If you were among the lucky winners of one of these, let us know in the comments.
