Fido Pearl 9100

We've seen images floating around for months on the long-awaited Pearl 9100. The crew at MobileSyrup landed some good intel and it looks like the device may be launching on Fido in May. This is the most solid news we've had on a launch date thus far, and hopefully we'll have more details in the coming weeks. WES is right around the corner, so assuming this holds true, we may get an official announcement and maybe even some hands-on time with the device itself.

Fido Curve 8520

We knew this was coming mostly due to rumors (and a slight OS goof), and the Curve 8520 has finally made its way to Fido. The device is just $50 with a 3/year agreement and matching BlackBerry Data plan, $350 with a 2/year contract, or $400 for just the device or prepaid service. Nothing new and exciting with this release as the Fido version is still the standard Fido-branded black, but maybe a lavender or red version will work into the lineup down the road. It looks like the device is only available by phone or in stores as well. For more information, check out fido.ca.

OS 4.6.1.320 Officially Released By Fido For The BlackBerry Curve 8520

The official release of OS 4.6.1.320 on Fido really isn't that big of a deal. The real news here is in the fact the Fido posted OS 4.6.1.320 without actually having yet put the device on sale- Ooops. You might remember a week or two back now we posted that Fido was set to get the BlackBerry Curve 8520, SKUS were loaded into the system yet, no official release date was available. So all this really means is the Fido BlackBerry Curve 8520 is that much closer to release, thanks for the confirmation!

BlackBerry Curve 8520 Set To Arrive On Fido

BlackBerry Curve 8520 Set To Arrive On Fido

We missed this one a few days back now but in any event this should cheer some Fido users up if you are not already using an unlocked BlackBerry on the Rogers owned carrier. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is set to arrive sometime in this quarter as mentioned over at Howard Forums.

"Fido will be launching the 8520 in Black. It will be part of the Q1 launch. No word on what date exactly, however the SKU has been loaded into the system."

That about says it all right there really but just to follow it up a little more we've now heard this information from numerous sources, so the chances of this one happening are pretty good. And it's about time really, Fido has been pushing BlackBerry Pearl 8100s ever since they re-launched their BlackBerry offerings back in Feburary of 2009. Shout out to all the people who sent this in.
