The CrackBerry App Awards party went down as a huge success this week. With over 200 people packed into Xobni's awesome headquarters, it was a perfect venue and atmosphere to hand out the 2010 Crackies. Big thanks also go to the BlackBerry Partners Fund for sponsoring the event and make it all possible. I have a feelng we'll be doing it up again in 2011 even bigger and better.

Following up the CrackBerry App Awards Winners' Announcement, we finally pulled the video from the event off the CrackBerry camera and got it up onto youtube for your viewing pleasure. Above you can watch the party walkabout, hosted by Adam, and below you can find interviews with some of our winners in attendance, recorded after winning their award. Enjoy the show!

Back at WES 2010 we had a fun time interviewing bloggers to get their reactions on BlackBerry 6 and the announcement of the Bold 9650 and Pearl 3G. While a ton of news got announced at BlackBerry DevCon 2010, it's the BlackBerry PlayBook with the BlackBerry Tablet OS that's dominating the headlines.

So following up the announcement of the PlayBook, we once again tracked down the bloggers in attendance to get their thoughts and feedback on RIM's first tablet and what it means for the future of BlackBerry. Check out the video above to see your favorite bloggers in real live action!

HUGE THANKS go to all the bloggers who let us put them on camera once again!

We've seen BlackBerry 6 leak already for the Bold 9650 and Curve 9330 onto the interwebs. We're still waiting to see it leak (or get officially announced) for the Bold 9700, Pearl 3G and Curve 9300. Hopefully it won't be long now, as RIM was showing BB6 off on these devices at the Opening Reception at the BlackBerry Developer Conference 2010. Note - free booze was served at this event so it's not quite as solid of a BlackBerry 6 first look as we did at the Torch launch, but if you own one of these devices and are waiting on BlackBerry 6 for it you'll want to watch!

Well, it's not quite our typical hands-on video, but I do put my hands on the device through a piece of glass. It'll have to do for now. Leaving the keynote session at BlackBerry DevCon, RIM had the BlackBerry PlayBook out on display for onlookers to drool over. Check out the video above for a quick look at the first BlackBerry tablet.

I also compare the the BlackBerry PlayBook to the Apple iPad and my BlackBerry Bold 9700 in the video to give you an impression of where it fits into the size equation. The form factor is pretty cool. It's a lot smaller than an iPad, but a lot bigger then your typical BlackBerry. Overall, I'm liking the form factor. It definitely fits with the "first professional tablet" branding as well. Going sorta hands-on we could see that they had on display both 16GB and 32GB versions of the PlayBook. No removable battery either - that's a new one for us BlackBerry users to have to deal with. It's hawt though. LOVING it.  We give a run down of the specs in the video and you can check out the BlackBerry PlayBook announcement for more information. I can't wait to do a REAL hands-on video of this one. It's the BlackBerry PlayBook... and really is a whole new ball game for RIM. Gonna be fun!

Following up with our DevCon Keynote Live Blog and BlackBerry PlayBook announcement teaser video, here is the full BlackBerry PlayBook announcement. This is the magic folks... the 15 minutes where RIM gets their mojo back. I AM EXCITED.

The BlackBerry PlayBook with new BlackBerry Tablet OS ushers in a whack load of new stuff to the world of BlackBerry. Awesome new hardware and an operating system that has legs for the future. Being christened as the first professional tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook looks like it has what it takes to be awesome for consumers as well and will offer an awesome gaming and video experience. Watch the full unveiling of the BlackBerry PlayBook by RIM's Founder and Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis above!!

While attending the AT&T / Research In Motion BlackBerry Torch event today, Adam was able to scoop up lots of video for us all. While most of the content we're still filtering through, here is something we've not had a good look at as of yet. The AT&T BlackBerry Torch commercial as shown above will soon be broadcasted to your television enticing you to head to your nearest AT&T location to get a better look. I'm digging the commercial and it kinda makes me excited to see how Canadian carriers are gonna be pushing this device as well.

Following up on all of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 mania of the big AT&T / BlackBerry Press Event, we had a chance to go hands with the vertical slider and experience BlackBerry 6. In the video above we take a quick (well, not so quick) tour of the device. We go through the new homescreen experience, revamped media apps, new social app and of course crack open the new WebKit browser. It's an unedited, one-take no excuses video so don't mind the roughness and background noise. I know all you CrackBerry readers will like this one. And if you want a little more of a written take on the Torch 9800 and BB6, be sure to check out our BlackBerry Torch 9800 first impressions article. Enjoy the show!

With WES 2010 now well behind us, I figured we'd wind down our BlackBerry Solution Showcase Partner/Sponsor Spotlight with Parts IV and V together. Watch the videos above and below to see first hand what some of the different enterprise and consumer plays that were on hand at the event.

Part IV includes SteelCloud, CytexOne, HP, Case-Mate and NickelBuddy. Part V includes Dream Theme, Shoot It and My Global Talk. Definitely check out Part V - the guy from Shoot It / My Global Talk was such a character we had to call it quits on the tour after that we were laughing so hard. Totally an awesome guy who loves his job! :)

Part III of our five part WES 2010 BlackBerry Solution Showcase spotlight tour had us checking out some interesting companies. You'll recognize Audiovox's Accoustic Research division's Zentral Home Command line of products as they are what has become of the original Unify4Life products that originally surfaced at WES three years ago. RCA was their to show off their AirPower project which leaches the power in WiFi signals to re-charge a battery pack and Xobni walked us through their powerful solution for managing contacts. Lastly, Freeance Mobile showed us how they're using GPS and location to really help enterprises. Click the links in the paragraph above to learn more about each company!

At WES 2010 in Orlando last week I had the opportunity to sit down with the CrackBerry.tv camera rolling and talk shop with Alan Brenner, who is the Senior Vice President of the BlackBerry Platform for Research in Motion. As you can imagine with a title like that, a LOT of stuff in the BlackBerry-realm falls under Alan's management, from RIM's core of "delivering the mail" (BES/BIS) to things like BlackBerry MVS, App World and even RIM-built apps like the new Twitter for BlackBerry.

I tossed a lot of questions at Alan during our time together that were things I figured the CrackBerry community would want to hear. We cover topics like App World and BlackBerry app development, gaming on BlackBerry (I was curious to know how high of a priority games on BlackBerry is for RIM - aka how soon we'll see OpenGL on GSM BBs) and touch on the growing need for increased memory on BlackBerry. HUGE thanks to Alan for taking the time to speak to CrackBerry. Enjoy the show!

We met Cortado at WES this year and they offer BlackBerry users the ability to print to WiFi or Bluetooth printers.  For enterprise customers a Cortado server is installed behind the corporate firewall offering secure remote printing to any company printer from anywhere in the world.

Another great feature is allowing you to access files stored on network drives at the office.  I was very impressed with the product and found it really cool and could be very useful in an orgainization that can afford and justify the cost of the server and license.

What blew me away was when they announcedat WES a personal version which offers free printing to any WiFi or Bluetooth printers.  Additionally they give each user 1GB of web based storage for files.  This now gives you the ability to print from files stored in the cloud or on your BlackBerry handheld.

One of the big highlights at WES 2010 for me personally was the sit-down time I had with senior level management at RIM. Everybody we had the opportunity to speak to had a passion for BlackBerry and knew their areas of expertise inside and out. For a couple of these interviews we were even able to fire up the CrackBerry.tv camera so we could bring you back the highlights in video!

The name BlackBerry is synonymous with security, so it was awesome to sit down with Scott Totzke, VP of the Global Security Group for RIM, and learn more about RIM's holistic approach to security. Scott also took the opportunity in speaking to CrackBerry readers to throw out some security tips that all BlackBerry owners should pay attention to (set a device password!!!!). Apologies in advance for the little bit of radio interference static that shows up towards the end of the interview... as you can imagine, it's hard to avoid that at an event like WES with BlackBerrys everywhere. We hope you enjoy the piece. HUGE thanks go to RIM and Scott for taking the time to talk to CrackBerry.

Following up Part I of our BlackBerry Solution Showcase Spotlight at WES 2010, in Part II we visit several more of the companies that were on hand in Orlando.

This time around we have Gwava, NeverFail, iSec7, TouMetis, Wireless Watchdogs and Grabba. You can watch the video above to learn more about what each of these companies offers in the BlackBerry space and click the links to jump over to their websites for more information.

I've been a long-time user of LogMeIn's free remote assist.  As the resident computer help desk in my family I've installed the LogMeIn client on all the not-so-tech family computers.  My mom, mother-in-law & wife all have this installed on their machines.

This way when I get the call as long as their PC has an internet connection I can access their machine and fix it.  It uses NAT traversal, so it doesn't require any router configuration. This is a great product. Now LogMeIn moves to the smartphone world. Their IT helpdesk product LogMeIn Rescue now offers the helpdesk the ability to access a user's BlackBerry handheld and take complete full control of the device.

What makes this product cool is that the user doesn't need any preinstalled software on the BlackBerry.  The helpdesk simply provides the user with a PIN for the session and on the browser the BlackBerry user goes to logmein123.com enters the PIN and POW! full control is handed to the IT helpdesk.
