One of the first things I do when purchasing a new BlackBerry smartphone is pick up a case. So it's no surprise that over the years I've accumulated quite a few. Some I've used, some are dented, and others have not been up to the task of having me as an owner. As Barney Stinson would say, my klutziness is, wait for it, LEGENDARY. People actually take bets on when the next drop will be. Now I own the Seidio ACTIVE case and holster for both my Torch 9800 and Bold 9900 but they have a tendency to lock up your device or be slippery in the hands. That's why after a little bit of searching through the CrackBerry Store I decided to check out the Case-Mate Tough Case and see if could withstand the rigors of daily use. There Barely There series from Case-Mate still stands as one of my favorite cases for all my devices, and the Case-Mate Barely There Brushed Aluminum Case for the Bold 9930 and 9900 is no different. The case snaps right on to the device, holding firm and giving you a good sense of security. It sports a pretty sweet look that definitely adds that bit of flash to your device as well. The ports are all open so you'll have no problem accessing them with the case on, and removing it should you choose to do so isn't hard at all. The only gripe I have is the way it sticks up a bit on the bottom and can cause problems for some people when typing. Check out the video above for more.

As one of my favorite cases for all my devices, the Barely There case for the BlackBerry PlayBook does not disapoint. The Barely There case from Case-Mate is one of my favorites. It gives a different look to the device, while providing great protection to the sides and back. While some may prefer a more "all over" case, I like the look and feel of the Barely There on my device. One of the most unique cases I've come across is the Case-Mate Smart Skin. I really dig this case as it offers great protection in a compact design. It has a very cool feel to it, and the keyboard cover is a great addition. The only hard part I found was getting used to typing on the "softer" keys, but after a while I barely noticed a difference. It works surprisingly well and I really had no trouble at all typing with the case on. The trackpad obviously does sit a bit lower which felt odd at first, but after a few minutes it's not a big issue. This case gets a thumbs-up from me - if you like to go for a simple case with great protection, the Case-Mate Smart Skin is deiniftely worth a look.

Here is a quick look at the Case-Mate ID case for the Tour 9630. I have to say I was excited to get this one since I really only carry my ID and a credit card when I'm out. I figured having the cards right with my device all the time would be easy and keep me from losing them. I liked the case at first, but the more typing I did, the less attached I became. I found it kind of "sharp" on the edges and the thickness of the back threw me off a bit. Overall I think its a good case, just not really for me. It needs a bit of a redesign around the sides to be worth using full-time (and yes I had trouble getting my cards in at one point). Check out the video above for my review.

Hopefully these reviews don't get too annoying. I stocked up on accesories again so there will be plenty of good stuff to check out. Bla1ze will be getting in on the action soon as well, so if you get tired of hearing my voice at least you have that to look forward to :-)

Protect your new BlackBerry Bold 9650 with these Case-Mate products...

Whether you're planning to purchase or have just bought the new BlackBerry Bold 9650, the first accessory most BlackBerry users purchase is a BlackBerry skin or case.
