BlackBerry World 2012 is quickly approaching and RIM is gearing up for what looks to be a great show. May 1-3 in Orlando, droves of BlackBerry fans will come out to learn all about BlackBerry 10 and what RIM has in the pipes for 2012. The above teaser video from RIM VP of Product Marketing, Rory O'Neill, invites everyone to come out to BlackBerry World and promises to share "the story, and the direction, and the vision of BlackBerry as a company". We can be sure there will be plenty going on, and I for one am pretty pumped for the show. We're just mere days away from the RIM's BlackBerry World Conference and while we speculated that the new device they'd be showing off there would indeed be the all new BlackBerry Bold Touch, RIM has for lack of better words -- confirmed it via a slip up on the BlackBerry homepage. While the the images are now gone, this is a pretty big slip up to be making in the first place, considering it gives out the name of the device and even shows off the fact it will be running BlackBerry 7. With BlackBerry World just around the corner, we're starting to get revved up for what is to be the BIGGEST BlackBerry event of the year. Hopefully we'll see some cool news announcements next week and get our hands on some new BlackBerry Smartphone hardware. The other thing that's always nice to see are FREEBIES. I've got my fingers crossed that RIM will up and decide to give all attendees a free PlayBook (I know... I'm probably dreaming, but seriously, I need another one to mount in my car) but if that doesn't happen you still have another chance to get a free BlackBerry PlayBook if you're at the show.

A number of BlackBerry World sponsors are running a passport program/contest to win a 16GB PlayBook during the conference. The idea behind the passport program is that attendees walking the show floor collect stamps at each sponsor's booth. Once all the stamps have been collected, the person is entered into a draw to win a prize - in this case a 16GB PlayBook. If you're planning on attending the upcoming BlackBerry World Conference in May, you can now find the mobile guide app available in BlackBerry App World available for download, but if you're not attending -- that doesn't stop you from downloading it and following along with those who are. It has some cool features built into it for both attending and non-attending indivuduals.

The 2011 BlackBerry World Mobile Conference Guide is an easy way to look up the full breakout session catalog, keynote speakers, community speakers, read up on conference sponsors plus create your schedule before getting to the event. You won’t miss a beat with the apps Event Messages and social channels – all this right from your BlackBerry device. 

Although the majority of the content does require you to be registered, the social networking additions make it a great app to get a one stop shop quick glance of everything that is happening. Especially when BlackBerry World gets rolling, considering during that time RIM's social teams go into overdrive in an effort to make sure those not attending, are at least kept up to date. Of course, we'll be there on-site as well to bring all the latest news.

We kind of saw this one coming, and in an official announcement today RIM has rebranded the Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES) to BlackBerry World. A very fitting title given the history of the conference. It is definitely worldwide and the past few years we've seen our fair share of device announcements (maybe a Storm3 this year?!) and more. The conference will still hold the same breakout sessions, hands-on labs and certifications as in the past, while incorporating more from other areas of the BlackBerry platform as well. Attendees of BlackBerry World will be able to:

• Hear the most current information about the BlackBerry solution, new application partners, and roadmaps for the future
• See live demonstrations of the BlackBerry solution at work
• Get answers from BlackBerry experts to develop value-driven wireless solutions, as well as carriers and vendors who can help provide valuable wireless research information
• Meet and connect with key executives who are making the BlackBerry solution part of their business planning, and the industry leaders who are shaping the future of global wireless technology
• Get training on the BlackBerry platform, with additional opportunities for technical certification
