BlackBerry Curve 9360 gets spotted again

BlackBerry Curve 9360

We've seen the next generation curve strutting its stuff in the past but some new images how now popped up showing us once again what it's made of. If you'll all remember the BlackBerry Curve 9360 still remains one of those unannounced 2011 devices that sort of strays a little away from the rest of the line in terms of specifications:

  • Tavor MG-1 800mHz processor
  • 512MB of RAM / 512MB eMMC
  • Built in Digital Compass
  • 1050mAh Battery
  • 5MP Camera w/ Flash
  • 480x360 Display
  • Built in WiFi
  • Built in NFC
  • Built in GPS
  • BlackBerry 7
  • Bluetooth

When released, we know it'll arrive on both GSM and CDMA carriers and since it's considered the lower-end models at this point -- should sell for a fairly low price much like the BlackBerry Curve 85xx series. If you're looking for more pics you can jump on past the break to get a better look at the new BlackBerry Curve.

From a specs standpoint the upcoming BlackBerry Curve (codenamed apollo) may be the least exciting of the 2011 BlackBerry Smartphone lineup, but with its good looks, respectable hardware and what will likely be a low price point this device should be a HUGE seller for RIM.

Check out the 7m41s video above to see the new Curve from every angle and also get compared to the good 'ole BlackBerry Curve 8900 (note, the video is from a Vietnamese tech site - if anybody wants to translate be sure to drop it in the comments!). The new Curve doesn't have a touchscreen, but it still packs a 480 x 360 resolution display and an 800MHz processor, which basically makes it better than any other BlackBerry currently on the market. It's a little crazy to think tomorrow's lower-end / workhorse BlackBerry basically crushes our top of the line devices we are using right now.

China Unicom introduces BlackBerry smartphones and services

State-owned telecommunications operator China Unicom has begun offering BlackBerry smartphones and services in China. Although primarily targeting enterprises, the telecoms operator will offer the BlackBerry Torch and BlackBerry Curve 3G smartphones first in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, with a nationwide roll out expected by September this year.

China Unicom offers BlackBerry data plans ranging from 60 to 128 Chinese yuan a month (the equivalent of $10 to $20 USD), as well as 3G service plans starting at 96 CNY a month ($15 USD). With this attractive pricing, it is only a matter of time before the Chinese population fully adopts mobile data and eventually, the smartphone lifestyle.

BlackBerry Curve Apollo

It appears that RIM's most popular line of BlackBerry smartphones is about to get a new addition! This device, codenamed "Apollo", will be an awesome addition to the Curve family, especially if the specs reported this morning are true. The Curve line currently includes the 83xx, 85xx, 89xx, and 93xx series. No word yet what number the Apollo may be assigned. Also no indication on pricing yet, though being part of the Curve line it's sure to be competitive. This device, much like the Dakota mentioned earlier today, have both been rumored as far back as 2009. Which one will you be picking up on release day?
