BlackBerry 7.1

If you're on Bell and own either a BlackBerry Torch 9860, you'll want to go ahead and grab your USB cables if you've been waiting for BlackBerry 7.1 to drop. Bell has now posted OS 7.1.0.267 to their BlackBerry download page, though previously leaked and not as far ahead as T-Mobile's version -- it's still nice to see they got around to releasing it.

BlackBerry Torch 9860 and Curve 9360

Launching a few days ahead of schedule, both Bell and Virgin Mobile Canada have the BlackBerry Curve 9360 available for purchase on their websites. Pricing is consistent across the sites with the entry level device coming in at $349.99 off contract or as low as $49.95 on a 3 year contract.

If you're more interested in the new BlackBerry Torch 9860, Bell has gone ahead and released it online as well. The full touchscreen device can be yours for $599.95 off contract or $129.95 on a 3 year contract.

Bell Mobility Curve 9360

“Everyone’s favourite BlackBerry Curve just got even better. The sleek and stylish new BlackBerry Curve 9360 is ‘just right’ in so many ways – it comes complete with enhanced specifications”

This is according to a leaked screenshot from Bell regarding the yet unannounced BlackBerry Curve 9360. The really interesting part about this screenshot though, is that it lists the launch date of the newest Curve as August 29th. We've seen lots of pictures of this little guy, but as has been the norm lately, RIM is still tight-lipped on it. Anyone out there planning on picking up one of these new Curves?

CrackBerry BlackBerry 6

Today from Bell Mobility we have OS 6.0.0.615 available for download for the BlackBerry Bold 9700. What's new in this OS? After you install drop a comment or hit the forums with your findings, since no change log was included. Even though this is an official OS, be sure to use caution and do a back-up before installing. And if you're not on Bell Mobility, make sure you delete that vendor.xml file. Thanks to everyone that sent this in!

BlackBerry PlayBook coming to Bell Mobility

While Rogers confirmed they'd be carrying the BlackBerry PlayBook for quite some time now, the majority of other carriers in Canada have not really had too much to say. Bell however, might as well have just confirmed the device on their network through no doing of their own. The Source's latest flyer contains the "coming soon" ad you see above. Considering the Source only sells Bell products there is no way it's a slip up. Sadly, the details stop there though. No date or pricing has been noted but now that its been outed I'm sure more details will follow along soon.

BlackBerry Style

Been holding out for the other large CDMA carrier in Canada to get the BlackBerry Style? If so, you can now head on over to the Bell Mobility website and pick up the all new BlackBerry Style for only $49.95 on a new 3-year contract. of course, if you're not looking to lock yourself in like that you can opt for the 2-year at 349.95 or 1-year at $374.95. And finally, you avoid that whole contract mess by ouright purchasing the device for #399.95. Don't forget, we gave the BlackBerry Style a pretty good run through in an earlier review so be sure to have a look at that before hitting up the Bell site.

BlackBerry Style 9670 and red BlackBerry Torch 9800 headed to Bell

Just in case all the talk of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 releasing in Canada was driving you crazy because what you really want is red BlackBerry Torch or BlackBerry Style then this news may be more to your liking. It seems as though both the red Torch and BlackBerry Style will be shipped off to Bell locations across Canada starting on November 15th with device purchasing going live on November 23rd.

The red Torch is suggested to cost $179.99 with a 3-year contract while the BlackBerry Style retail price is said to be $399.99. The contract pricing for the Style at this point was not available. Which would drop the cost to something a little more realistic with contract terms but I'm sure that will pop up soon enough.

BlackBerry Bold 9780

Here is something sure to please many folks out there. We finally have some confirmation of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 arriving on another carrier other than Virgin Mobile. As the above information shows, Bell Mobility is all set to launch the BlackBerry Bold 9780 on November 2nd. The pricing for the BlackBerry Bold 9780 is set at $499.99 but that's not subsidized in anyway and no details were given on what exactly, the subsidized pricing would be.

Bell BB 6

Sure seems that way. Some leaked documents from Bell Mobility show that BlackBerry 6 isn't set for release on other capable devices until 2011. While Bell is set to release the BlackBerry Torch 9800 anytime now, the newly announced BlackBerry Curve 3G nor the BlackBerry Pearl 3G will get it right away, let alone the previously released BlackBerry Bold 9700.

As we've seen in the past carriers are often terribly slow to update to new OS' which, for customers is never really a good practice to see happening. While this information only gives us a look at Bell, it could be rather indicative of other carrier plans as well. Just look how long it took AT&T to release OS 5.0 for the BlackBerry Bold 9000. As BlackBerry users we always want to have the latest updates and that often means relying upon leaked OS' or using OS' from other carriers that are more liberal with their updates. Truly hoping Bell decides to change this plan, in the long run it's not great for their customer base to be stuck on an older OS.

Bell Mobility Curve 3G

It looks like Bell Mobility is all set for the release of the upcoming BlackBerry Curve 3G (Curve 9300). The carrier is ready to drop the HSPA device on August 12th and should be getting units in stock as early as next week. We did see this coming a few days ago, and the "Curve 3G" name looks to be the winning moniker for release as well. The device will carry the standard features including 256MB flash memory, a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth and the fleet of native apps. No word if the Curve 3G is headed to any other carriers just yet, but it's safe to assume it won't be long before it lands elsewhere.

BlackBerry Pearl 3G now available online from Bell

After what was clearly a false start for Bell, they have now posted the BlackBerry Pearl 3G online for new and current customers to order. Word is most store locations should by now have stock as well. The Bell version of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G is currently only available in black and will set ya back $49.99 with a new 3 year contract, $179.95 on a 2 year and $279.95 on a one year. Finally, if contracts are not your style expect to pay $329.95 sans contract. As with the BlackBerry Bold 9700 release fom Bell, the Pearl 3G also lacks any carrier branding so that might be a plus for some buyers out there. Head on over to the Bell website to get started.

Bell Flyers Show BlackBerry Pearl 3G Has Arrived. We Say, The Flyers Are A Lie

If you happen to be a Bell subscriber, chances are you either got one of these flyers or one will soon be showing up in your mail. The flyers Bell sent out today clearly depict the BlackBerry Pearl 3G and state that it has just arrived. Sadly though, if you contact any Bell store across Canada they will tell you politely that the flyer is a lie. The Bell launch of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G was indeed pushed back for whatever reason and despite what the flyer says, stores have yet to even take shipment of the devices let alone have any ready for sale. In speaking with some representatives the best release date or comment we could gather up was "Check back middle of next week" and while that's not too bad, it still kinda sucks to have gotten the flyer.

BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Pricing Set At $79.99 For Rogers And Bell

It was suggested previously that we'd see the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 roll in at around $49.99 w/ contract on Rogers and Bell. Turns out that price may have been a little lower then reality. As the above snapshot shows, Bell and Rogers have their pricing set at $79.99 for the new Pearl with new contracts.

As we have now seen the pics of the dummy device roll in and the launch announcement expected to happen at WES, it gives more weight to the May 6th launch date that we have been hearing. TELUS pricing has yet to be revealed but given carriers rarely stray from each others pricing it should be on par with that of Rogers and Bell, maybe less if they want to push their pink version out the door.

Bell OS 5.0.0.419

It looks like Bell Mobility is the latest to jump in on the official 5.0 fun. The tip line was on overload this morning with reports of the official release. OS 5.0.0.419 is now available for download for the Storm 9530 from Bell Mobility. Glad to see that the update has finally landed for Bell users, and hopefully more carriers will drop 5.0 for other devices in the near future. This is an official release, but as always use caution when upgrading your device. Hit up the link below to download. Thanks to everyone that sent this in!

Official BlackBerry Bold 9000 OS 5.0.0.411 Bell Mobility

Here we go folks. Something many of you all have been waiting for. Finally, an official 5.0 release for the BlackBerry Bold 9000. As it was posted in the CrackBerry forums, Bell Mobility has made OS 5.0.0.411 available for everyone to download. If you've been running the previously leaked version there is no reason to update but if you haven't grabbed a leaked version yet you'll want to get your hands on this one. Remember to delete your vendor.xml file if you are not a Bell Mobility subscriber. Here's to hoping we'll see a bigger roll out across carriers for all devices still needing OS 5.0.
