If you are like me, and struggle to get a full day per charge on your standard battery that came with your 9650, then you are probably looking for new battery options. While hunting around, I came across the Seidio 2600mAh battery for the 9650, and while initially I was rather hesitant to add the size to gain the capacity I decided the pull the trigger on the battery anyways, and give it a shot. This decision is one that I am forever going to be happy with, and let's hit the jump together to see if this battery is also right for you.

Protecting my BlackBerry is always something that is important to me, and if it is important to you as well, then you have probably invested some money is various cases, looking for the perfect match for your device. Otterbox, a company that many of us have heard about, and know for making very protective cases, is one of my personal favorites and I have had them on previous device, such as my Storm 2. If you are looking for a new case that adds some rugged protection, and feels good in the hand, hit the jump with me as we take a look at the Commuter series case for the BlackBerry 9650.

CrackBerry BlackBerry 6 Logo

Everyone seems to be very excited about 6.0.0.222 for the BlackBerry Bold 9650. This OS is one that was a best friend to many, and a worst enemy to others. Now of course we know this was a leak and there are going to be some issues at hand with it, but one of the biggest issues that many users were seeing was that the webkit broswer, that we have all waited so patiently for, was not functioning if the device did not have a wifi connection. After doing some of the normal troubleshooting like deleting service books, resending service books, rebooting the device, and whatever else would come to mind, the problem still persisted, which began a slight uproar in the forums. Xandermac quickly came to the rescue with an Updating to OS6 and want everything to work? thread which nicely outlined exactly how to fix these issues. Depending on your situation, whether you have another device or this being your only one affects how easy the fix is, but the fix is tested and verified to be 100% true. So, if you upgraded or are on the fence about upgrading, be sure to check out this thread to make sure that you get everything all set up the way it should be.

BlackBerry Tour 2 9650 Visual Voicemail Install Files Found Online

We've seen RIM's little mistake with the Facebook posting. Kevin went hands on with it way back in October of 2009 and finally, just like the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 it's been spotted more times then a leopard. Now, here are rolling into February full on and no release of the BlackBerry Tour 2 / 9650 is to be had as of yet. But, thats not to say there isn't still news and rumors to be posted about it.

The keen eyes of the Twitter world provide us with the latest tidbit. Mike Lawson has spotted, which was reported by Berryscoop the installation files for visual voicemail for the BlackBerry Tour 9650 directly on the Verizon servers. No telling exactly how long it's been there or what might one do with it since you can't exactly go out an pick up a 9650. But lets all just hope it's a new edition to the VZW website and it means the BlackBerry 9650 is closer to getting all official like on us.

9650 Dummy Units

Nothing to really jump for joy over just yet, but it looks like the BlackBerry 9650, aka Tour2, dummy units are now showing in Verizon's computers. This is typically a sign of good things to come and we can only hope that it means the actual devices will pop up in the near future. We still have no solid release date for the 9650, but sometime in the next few months seems like a safe bet.

Essex 9650

Just yesterday we saw Sprint branded software running on a BlackBerry Tour 9650 (codenamed essex) and today we get a chance to see (thanks Sal!) actual branded hardware for a Verizon BlackBerry Tour2. I still get excited as these branded units start to pop up, as it means we're that much closer to a real release date. Still just rumors floating around on when this guy will show up officially, but hopefully it is still on track for early 2010. Sadly this is the only image that Sal has on hand, but hopefully some more will turn up in the coming weeks.
