T-Mobile announces the BlackBerry Torch 9810 - Available November 9th

hi. 9900/9930 (bolds) , 9350/9360/9370 (curves) doesnt have autofocus , they have EDOF cameras. 9810,9850,9860 (torchs)have autofocus cameras.

Um... AT&T sells this same device for $50... Can't imagine many people will be willing to pony up $250 for this on T-MO...

I really don't understand t-mobile and their pricing. It seems like they're trying to lose customers with some of these prices. Their 9900 is $100+ more than every carrier and it seems like this phone is following suit. I'm ready starting to think about switching carriers

auto. my wife got this phone for a penny at rogers... 3 year contract though....
its pretty sweet.

for $250 I will keep using my 9700, thats just way out of line for what everyone else is selling it for. c'mon Tmo I know youre business is slowing down but raking your customers over the coals for a phone doesnt keep them around for long.

Really, this phone should be $79.99

And soon you will probably be able to get it on Wal-mart's site for 0.00 like a month after

Thumbs down RIM

I was all ready to pay full price, but it looks like it will probably be $599 like the 9900. Unreal. Guess I too will be holding on to my 9700 for awhile.

well, that price pretty much killed it for me. $250 on contract...and that's after the crappy mail-in rebate...kinda hard justifying spending that amount when your competitor is selling the same exact phone for much less. what's the marketing genius behind that?

outside of blackberry addicts, how do you sell it to new smartphone buyers when money is tight and a consumer can see that they can get that same exact phone for much cheaper over at Ma Bell...

oh wait, that's expected to be your future parent company...maybe there is genius behind it. TMobile marketing is actually run by AT&T folks! ha.

hmmm...in that case, maybe i should just spend a few more dollars now on the phone to keep the awesome TMobile plan I'm on because there's no way I'll be able to save money on a new plan once it becomes AT&T&TMo...

hmmm...still a stupid price to announce.

Remember that the Torch 9810/9800 was an AT&T exclusive and was actually researched by AT&T and originally built by RIM for AT&T.

TMo is consistently at a higher price point for their phones. The 9900 will be $199 when released on the 6th by AT&T. T-Mo has it for $299! Looks like the Torch II is no different. T-Mo markets their cheaper phone plans and Wi-Fi calling ability. Over time one would make up the difference in phone cost with a lower monthly service plan. Over time that is. Going to T-Mo from AT&T would save me about $50 / month for comparable service. In two months I have made my money back on the price of the phone. The remaining ten months on contract are pure savings. T-Mo needs to follow through with getting WiFi calling on the 9900. That will save me even more as I can drop from an unlimited calling plan to 500 minutes with Wifi calling, which is the majority of my day at the home office.
So, spend a little more and get more savings in the long run. That's my thought. Do wish the phones would come down in price though. Do I hear Christmas specials!!

Unfortunately, consumers have a harder time having to dish out $300 up front vice saving $200-$300 over a two year period. It's all about the here and now and what can a person afford at this point in time.

T-Mobile may have better rate plans, but the their high priced phones are hitting people in the pockets and making them run. They need to be a little more reasonable. I thought $149 or even $199 (before $50 rebate) would have been a good deal.

Sure, they'll sell some 9810's but mainly to the die hard BB fans. They will not draw in those who have Androids and are ready for an upgrade and change.

I was really looking forward to buying this phone and I can't get mad yea AT&T has it for $50 but they plans are higher than Tmobile I'm guessing thats why AT&T Bold will be 199 cause after u get a data plan ect u gonna pay over 130 a month on bill compared to Tmobile where I pay 89.99 so I can see why there phones are higher but I might just buy off contract.

These prices are ridiculous !! Same as the 9900 ....Will be holding on to my 9780 for a while. Sad.....

$249.99 with 2-year activation after a $50 mail-in rebate is wayyy too much! They are nuts specially considering this phone doesn't have widi, front facing cam, wifi hotspot or hardware UMA. Yeah they're gonna add hotspot and wifi calling but it still isn't as great as hardware UMA. Even so this phone and all the BlackBerrys for that matter are behind technology wise. At least if we knew we could upgrade to QNX later on I would conside it but at these outrageous prices...it's insane! I think this is a plot by T-Mobile to drive T-Mobile under on purpose to help AT&T complete their purchase.

Are u serious T mobile?? That fucking price is too much.. At&t has it for 50$ and their coverage is better than T mobile! I Regret the day I changed carriers.. T mobile's signal is the Worst, They didn't get the Iphone. The Prices are so fuc*ing expensive and the company totally sucks,They won't give me an upgrade until July so I would need to pay full price for a phone.. I can't wait for my contract to end!!

This price is so ridiculous that people would prefer just go to AT&T and get it for 50$ or they might get the Iphone 4S for 199$.. Why bother buying this outdated crappy phone in a cheap carrier when You can get an Iphone 4S for a lower price??

I'm moving to ATT come next year, had enough w/ Tmo and their over priced BB's. At least now I know that the Bold will be sold by ATT.

Are you fucking kidding me?? 299?? This is fucking bullshit. I am so pissed at Tmobile right now that i cant think straight. I have been waiting for this phone for a long time, hoping that the price would be comparable to ATT but this pure fucking bullshit.

Thanks Tmobile you just lost another customer. Fuck you bitches.

I was going to get the phone but a rep at T-mobile store in Glen Allen, Va told me to call customer care to see if they could work out a deal for the Bold since I told them I was going to go to AT&T to get the Torch. In the end I got the Bold 9900. They gave me the phone for $299.99. Charged it to my bill. Gave me a $250.00 credit on my bill that day and then I was told I could go and get the $50.00 so in the end the phone technically was free for me!!

I called this afternoon ready to pay full price and they told me it was $429..... I have a business plan that I thought I could order today and they told me I could only order if I got the new 2 year plan....... I told them that is why i was not renewing my contract........ guess I will wait till the 9th

I hope the $429 price tag is correct! But it doesn't make sense that a phone would have an upgrade price of more than half the value. Unreal. But if the full price is correct, I'm all over it! I was scared it was going to be something like $549 to $599 (which I'm still expecting to see).

I'm on my 15th 8520, I don't know if I really want a smart phone anymore with other than living in a news vacuum in vegas, the price has pushed me away from the bold, now the torch is being pushed from me, I don't like apple: not an option, and android has not impressed me other than more apps, so I'm pushing my other option is a pager and phone card if I can find a pay phone, so t mobile may lose another customer, remember the other 3 companies still are wire taping from w. so $249 is still too much to pay for the torch

I just called about the upgrade to torch 9810 and told them the price from at&t and they gave me the same price $49.99 plus tax and $5.99 for shipping so, it was time for my upgrade and I've been with them for 5 1/2 years, I made a joke about my experience with my 8520 and they pushed it to at&t price, I hope this helps with other tmo customers, my date for upgrade was 11/2/11, good luck to all
